@jugar
“The self who failed deserves the support and cheers to figure it out, and to get out there and do it again in a new way to see how that works.”
That sentence is “yum”. So cool. Thank you for taking the time and for sharing.
It makes me think about how the self that doesn’t like feeling vulnerable tends to berate “the self who failed”….give that other self a muzzle 🤦🏾♀️😂.
Guess we are learning and integrating along the way. 🤷🏾♀️

Happy Friday, Folks!
So glad to see you back, Kristi @conleywoods ! I hope your next job is better for you in the stress department.
I have really missed hearing about your gorgeous (pampered) guinea pigs.
Welcome back!5 -
@jugar that is a lot of snow and looks cold! I know you love it and glad you got to snowshoe!
@conleywoods welcome back!! Good luck in the job hunt!
That quote and story about failing is good. I've been trying to think a lot about what is and what isn't working in my weight loss journey. What I can change to succeed. Still a work in progress!4 -

Friday Weigh-In
PW: 254.0
CW: 258.2
She's up, she's down, she's up... she's blaming this bump on her TOM which arrived yesterday and is currently giving her unbearable cramps and the lovely dinner she had out with her sister last night.
Definitely heading into the new week with some renewed motivation. I've been stuck now for like 6 weeks or so in the same 5lb range - unacceptable! getting a move on. Starting early tomorrow morning with snowboarding in new hampshire - so excited to get some more time on the snow this season. And I get to put the brand new tires on my car to the test with a 2 hour drive.
@conleywoods so glad to see you back Kristi! sounds like you have some traction
@MaddawgMadsen way to GO with such a strong week of workouts!4 -
Hope everyone had a nice Friday. I'm on my last weekend of spring break. Took the kids shopping today with my mother in law. Started on some chores. I've been working through some information on weight loss and getting measurements figured out. I have been working on weight loss since 2019. I basically do the same thing over and over and it never really works out. I usually set a calorie deficit and just stick to it. This time I'm going to try cycling my calorie deficit with weeks of maintenance calories. Not sure which schedule I'll settle on quite yet. My current goals are:
Log EVERYTHING
Weight daily
Work out 2 times a week
The working out just sounds so daunting. I don't know why. It just is so challenging. I need to do it.
Thank you to everyone for the welcome back. I'm excited to see you all.

@jugar I'm skipping weigh in this week 'cause I'm in NC with Mom. I'll be back in Vermont late on Tuesday, and will weigh in then.
I've been walking every day. I've also done 3 water-workouts, 2 exercise classes, and a 30-minute session on the "cyber cycle" this week. I think it's more overall exercise than I've had for quite a while. The trick will be to continue moving as much as I can when I'm back home in my life.
If you're hesitant about getting "back to it", just do *something*, *anything* for 5 minutes. Right now. After you're done on the toilet, for example, start to stand (without pushing your arms down on your legs) then, slowly sit down again. Do it 3-4 times each time you use the bathroom and within 1 week, squats will feel so much easier. Truly! Give yourself a jump-shout of congratulations! Yay! You've done some unexpected exercise. Well done! Build on that success and you'll keep building your confidence up as you go. You're worth it!

Well, today was certainly a FAR from good one for food. I have been indulging in all kinds of excess. It was my taller half's birthday, so there was a special meal, cake, ice cream, and before that there was a more-than-necessarily-generous lunch. At least I did not have any alcohol, but it sure was a day for blowing past the limits I can usually respect pretty well.
SO, dusting self off, planning tomorrow, and going to stick to the plan. It was kind of scary how easy it was just to keep eating. I have not had such a bingey-feeling in a long time...
Off to make that plan.5 -

quick check in to report that today was an awesome day on the slopes!! perfect weather, sun came out eventually, definitely burned some serious calories. my legs will likely be dead tomorrow. I literally sat down in a hot shower for 20 min when I got home but I should have foam rolled as well. too late now. I am snug like a bug in a rug.6

I had a perfect day yesterday! My first one in quite a while. I had a talk with my hubby about some struggles I've been having and it's amazing to get some outside persepctive from someone who knows me. I got my first jog in that I actually felt good at yesterday since being sick. I jogged Sunday, but it was more walking with 1 time of jogging. I'm hoping this boost in motivation will help me get started with consistency.
@Kali225 I'm glad you had fun snowboarding!6 -
Happy Sunday, Friends!
Looks like we have a few returns to good habits in the group, and I feel that I am in good company - so, thank you @jugar and @lauren_989
My sweet husband took me out last night and so ever gently told me that he could see me "slipping into a depressive funk", and he wanted me to come back. He encouraged me to start a new schedule and be sure to include non-work days into my weekly routine. Of course, he told me that he loved me and he would always have my back. But most importantly, he wanted me to ignore the negative self-speak that he suspected me of listening to.
So your post, @EvMakesChanges really spoke to me. I will indeed strive to do something different each day. Even if it's only 5 minutes-worth. Thank you.
And thanks for the piggies, Kristi @conleywoods - I've missed those little beasties. Yx6 -

@conleywoods Welcome back - love the critters.
Had a busy weekend in Calgary with my daughter to visit my new nephew. Crazy how small newborns are and how much work they are at that stage. We had a great visit and spent a day at the science centre. Happy to be home and get a good sleep in my bed. Will be an interesting week as my husband is out of town for work so I'm going to be extra focused on meal planning and setting myself up for success.
I too can't wait for some stress to lift. I'll be finishing up my lashes course then have a few weeks off before I start another in May. It's feeling like spring today so will be enjoying the weather and getting a good walk in after dinner with the dog.6 -
Hey friends!! Where has April gone to already? Jeez... this year is flying by! My goal this year was to end it lighter than I started it and so far I am not achieving that. BUT I am also not in a place where that's not possible. So, this is my accountability moment to call myself out that more weeks need to be losses than gains from here on out to make that possible.
My soccer team had a practice yesterday for 90 minutes and I was SO sore afterwards. I did get on the Peloton for 30 minutes today just to flush everything out and that was a good idea. Plus a therapeutic hot tub afterwards so I can head into my work week with some success!7 -
Week 1 April step challenge stats are due (Mar 31-Apr 6). Thanks to those that have posted already!
On that note.. the final close out of March:
We had three team members who reported their steps for the whole month. Shout out to @MaddawgMadsen @YinxFed and @StayFITTer for hanging in the whole month!

#2 @lauren_989 320,133 steps
#3 @MaddawgMadsen 258,253 steps
And a big congrats to @StayFITTer who leveled up in the final week of March by increasing her steps by 10% over week 3.4 -
@ashleycarole86 great job with the exercise today! I'm sorry I forgot to post my steps the last week in March! I must have forgotten or thought that I posted.

I am looking forward to the eclipse tomorrow - and in luck that the we will be having clear weather (so they say so far!) and my land is right under the line of totality - it will be spectacular. Having company here is a bit stressful, but so far so good! We are having a good time, but I am not able to get the exercise I usually do. I'll try to get to my workouts tomorrow. Too much talking!
Congratulations to us for being one of only 2 teams to log a loss for last week! Great job @adrimango for hitting the top 3 of all the team members! And to @Gidgitgoescrzy and @StayFITTer for an excellent week. You're on a roll!5 -

Had an okay weekend, Friday and Saturday I was feeling pretty terrible, there was no taming my allergies, my head was pounding, so no exercise was done, Yesterday I got some yard work done, and a little over 4mile hike, so it was a good day ! I absolutely love my new hiking boots, lots of puddles to jump in, and not one drop of moisture.
Today is Drs appt and then 30 minutes on the treadmill.
Have a great day !

After such a big drop last week I wasn't expecting to be in the green this week so that is a nice surprise. My daughter and I had a nice 2 days away. I didn't stay on my eating plan but did enjoy the ice cream and s'mores. We did a 5.5 mile hike and the views were beautiful. Spent the weekend doing laundry and catching up on some work. I've now been in business for a year! I'm still sorting out the right balance of projects and managing time and tasks across so many things but it's going well. Happy eclipse day to those in the path!6 -
