@BodyTalking was just a hair behind and @Jensmakingprogress was almost as close! Way to go!

Look at that fabulous stepping! We were really close to 2.5 million steps this month. Can we do better in July?

Our bolded members set a step goal for the week and met it! Which is to say, all of us (participating this week) with step goals!! As always, if you want to... be bold (heehee), let us know how many steps you want to hit every day on average and we'll keep track of it for you!

    Way to go walkers!

I managed to walk on my treadmill the last few days so I thought I would have more steps but I guess not. That’s ok. Yesterday we had people over it was so humid I spent most of the day in the pool. I love the heat just not the humidity. I just spent the morning cleaning my house and then cleaning up outside from the party. It’s another humid day. I think I’m going to jump on the treadmill and finish a series on my iFIT app and maybe jump in the pool. I’m going to try adding fruits and veggies into my meals this week. I bought grapes and strawberries, I always have good intentions and then they go bad. I have a goal this week not to let that happen.

Just thought i’d post to give an update to my fitness journey..
Invested in some home weights as i’m terrible at getting to the gym lately, due to work being really busy (blah blah).
Started Caroline Girvan IRON programme today. Has anyone done it / heard of it?
Basically I’ve completed day 1 and it’s half an hour of legs (mostly lunges and squats) and it’s brutal 🤣🤣.
It’s 30 workouts in total, over 5 days a week so a 6 week plan. The work outs are half an hour each - so really no excuses.
I’ve decided to do this as I just really want to get in shape and stop messing about once and for all.

I’m taking ‘before’ pictures tonight as many report weight gain but a change in composition, so I think progress photos are going to be beneficial.

Hopefully weight gain won’t be a factor though, but if it is, I’ll have to get my head around that 😫

So I discovered a new source of bloat: Wasp stings.

More specifically, serum sickness from wasp stings leads to water retention.

Pro-tip: Do not let wasps sting you, if you can help it. Not only is it unpleasant, but it forces your body to hold onto more water to filter the venom.

Started Caroline Girvan IRON programme today.

ME! I finished it about 6 weeks ago! It was hard! I felt pretty proud of my self for sticking with it. I really dislike “working out” 5 days a week and really prefer doing a total body weight workout 3 days a week, where I just go for walks on the off days.

So for Iron, I ended up combining workouts where I would do an upper and lower body video on the same day, skip a day or 2 and then do the next upper/lower together. Sundays, I would do the 1 full body video for the week. There are also a bunch of support groups on Facebook for the Iron program which helped with motivation.

If you are just starting out with weightlifting, you might see some water retention the first couple of weeks and a lack of movement on the scale. Keep at it, eat your protein!

For me, I knew weightlifting was just going to be a fact of life for the rest of my life. It helps with longevity, keeps your bones strong, etc… That’s why I started in with 3 days a week instead of 5. (I knew I could do that long term, whereas I get resentful of it if I have to do it more often. Some people like the daily routine, though.)

I’m doing MAPS “Muscle Mommy” now, and once I finish, I’ll do Shaun T’s “Dig Deeper” since Bodi made it available without needing a subscription. That’s another 5 day program so I’ll have to figure that out…
