    Sept Goals ( covid recovery)

    Miles tracked: 65
Apple Challenge: Reach my daily move goal 17 times.

While my covid symptoms continue to resolve I'll slowly start to get moving again. Part of my recovery will be trying to stay on the Anti-inflammatory diet too. Not my favorite diet but getting the inflammation down that COVID-19 has flared up is a better goal than ignoring it. 😉

I hope you're enjoying the holiday weekend.

Well August was pretty much of a bust for me, but I really should not expect much in August anyway. I truly hate Summer and August just saps me, but in September, I am rejuvenated. I don't know if it is all those years of living on a school calendar (I started in 1985 with my son and did not stop until Fall 2020! :noway: ) or if it is just that I know all the fun holidays are coming, but I <3 Fall Most of All!!! However, I am also aware that I have not met any challenges for the last few months, so I am scaling them back. I have simple, but doable goals this September. I also need to simplify my goals because we need to stack 3 1/2 cords of wood by the 25th as Dennis is having his right knee replacement. So I need to get the wood done and get through those last 5 days taking care of him too!

Goals for September: Every day: No alcohol (I am doing a Dry September challenge), Drink 32 oz water, Log food on MFP, do 15 minute workout walk. This is very doable!
9/1-WAH 1 mile Walk Concert: Miles today: Total Miles:
    9/2-
I am glad your COVID is easing off @Deeder522. Give your lungs lots of opportunity to recover. Daily tasks can be stressful enough with COVID.
@lclark04957 -you are on it!!! I have decided not to try the 3 Miracle Miles this month, but I may do the 1 Miracle Mile as part of my daily mile. I want to actually MEET a challenge for once!
Leaves are changing in my stand so enjoy fall!!!!!

1 Miracle Mile this morning. Although, my watch said it was more like .66 miles. 😉 The movement did feel good and I can tell I'm slowly starting to get some strength back.
I hope to avoid fast food as much as possible to get back on the inflammatories.
We are forecasted to have a few nice days this week. Ry got on his bike for 4 laps on Saturday. He's been itching to make it to one of the bike trails before the season ends.

    Happy Labor Day!

9/1-WAH 1 mile Walk Concert: Miles yesterday: 2.5 Total Garmin Miles: 2.5
9/2-WAP 1 Mile WAH: Miles yesterday: Total Garmin Miles:
I have never gotten the same mileage as Leslie's videos say either @Deeder522. That is why I always use my Garmin for steps and mileage. She uses beats per minute, but most people use stride and distance and my stride does not match her beats per minute and yours probably doesn't either. I'd say your watch was more accurate.
Dennis and I stacked 10 wheelbarrows full of wood today. To be truthful, he stacked and I carted the wood. I am amazed at how much wood 3 1/2 full cords are! We have two pallets stacked 5'high and the pile still looks enormous!!! Meh, it is good exercise and I'll be happy when it is -10F!
    Enjoy Labor Day!

    September goals:
Leslie Fast Walking 30 Minutes at least 1x per week.
Stop with the after dinner snacking!!!
9/1 Leslie HH walk and 3 mile walk with hubby.
9/2 Leslie Fast Walk in 30 Minutes
So far snacking is fair to good but it’s only been 2 days.

1 Miracle Mile again this morning. I'll be sticking to that 1 mile in hopes I can do 2 miles next week.

I always struggle with drinking water.
I attempted to make chili from scratch this weekend. It's still a work in progress. It was almost like Goldilocks and the 2 bears when it came to seasoning. I thought it was too spicy, Son thought it needed more kick and Ry thought it was just right. lol

@Deeder522 I can relate to the water struggle and making chili. I’m terrible at both. I’m trying to improve on the water. Thankfully my hubby eats anything. We’ve been married 38 years and I don’t think I’ve wowed him with a spectacular meal in any of those years.
@zichab Im exhausted just reading about the wood. It’s hard work. That’s why we switched to pellets. And yes will appreciate it below zero weather but bite your tongue. It’s too early for that talk yet. 🤣
9/3 HH 1 mile and exceeded my 10,000 steps goal and no snacking after dinner. Woot woot!
    Have a great day.

@lclark04957 Way to go, yesterday! You're doing great.

@zichab We have a wood-burning fireplace but the chimney needs a good amount of repair. We've considered retrofitting it to be a gas-burning one instead, which after reading about your day of stacking wood, sounds like a good idea.

1 Miracle Mile again this morning. I've pretty much memorized this routine now so I'm adding extra arm movements to keep my "walk" going further for tracking purposes. So today's workout was tracked as .78 miles.
Last night we did 1 lap around the cornfield. It was my busiest day since C-19 struck again.
Ryan was scheduled to have a CT scan tomorrow but we received paperwork that Insurance isn't covering it. It sounds like the DR didn't write up the reasoning good enough of insurance. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Today is pretty open so we may try for the bike trail. 🤞🏻 that Ry is feeling good enough to go and that he doesn't have a setback either.

Goals for September: Every day: No alcohol (I am doing a Dry September challenge), Drink 32 oz water, Log food on MFP, do 15 minute workout walk. This is very doable!
9/1-WAH 1 mile Walk Concert: Miles yesterday: 2.5 Total Garmin Miles: 2.5
9/2-WAP 1 Mile WAH: Miles yesterday: 3.5 Total Garmin Miles:6.0
9/3-Missed: Miles yesterday: 2.3 Total Garmin Miles: 8.3
9/4-3 Fast Miles-Mile #3: Miles yesterday: Total Garmim MIles:
Yesterday was a miss for me. I could not sleep Monday night and was awake ALL NIGHT!! :grumble: Tuesday, I had to go to Plattsburgh with Dennis for his perio appointment and then to Hannaford for groceries. By the time I got them put away and dinner dishes done, I sat down for a "few minutes" before coming down to do my walk. The next thing I knew, it was 9:00 AM!!!! :noway: Dennis felt so bad for me that when I finally fell asleep, he did not have the heart to wake me up to go to bed, so I slept all night on the couch! Meh, some days are just like that!
Chili is one of those things that are rough to make to please everyone @Deeder522. My rule is to make it less spicey because spice can always be added, but NOT removed! No matter how hot I make it, my son and husband always add another blended chili in adobo sauce to theirs. I have no idea how they stand it, but more power to them! Pasta sauce is also like this. Some people like it bland with nothing in it, some like it full of meat, other full of vegetables etc. I make a vegetable sauce so I can add whatever meat I want when I used it, but no matter how many herbs I add, my husband always adds more oregano. Honestly, I question if the man even has taste buds! :blushing:
Managing wood for two stoves is definitely not for the weak at heart that is for sure. Gas is not possible up here as we only have propane and I hate the tanks sitting outside my house and am afraid of them. However, @lclark04957, we have talked about replacing our much older (1992) downstairs insert with a pellet one. They did not exist when we got that insert but it is definitely something we are considering because we do not use that one as much anymore. Our new insert (2020) is upstairs in the living room and we love the wood up there. There are young men here who will stack it for us and we will get there soon enough. But, for right now, it gets us out in the fresh air, gives us a work out and lets us "catch up" with the neighborhood "chat" among out chipmunks and squirrels, who must think we are crazy based on their chatter.
This is the stack at the end of today:
    xolu7z1glyt9.png
This is the pile we still have to stack:
    4uff6q0bid7f.png
I'll catch you tomorrow with a smaller pile!

I took today off due to the amount I walked yesterday. My feet, well let's just say they woke up a little moody. 😉
Today, I'll take Ry for a CT scan of his abdomen. He gets to have breakfast but no food until after the scan. Tomorrow he has PT.

We ordered about half of what we needed for the bathroom. I'm still waiting on the material list from Ryan's cousin. The tub and surround will be here next week. Ryan and I are going back and forth on the tiling above the tub surround. Is it worth the investment?? Do we tile later?
I want this bathroom to be as easy and quick to clean.

    9/4 & 9/5 HH 1 mile
9/6 30 minute fast walk. Day off today so got it in early. Now I can relax.
Streak of no snacking still strong, and the scale has finally budged. I’ve been losing and gaining the same pound for months. I think the challenging workout is helping. Well..and the no snacking. 🤣 I have more energy too, but it could be the cooler weather. I love this season.
@Deeder522 glad you are feeling better. A workout is a workout. Be proud for anything you do, especially after CV19. It’s no picnic.
@zichab sooo much wood! What a workout!
    Enjoy the weekend all!!

It's an extra rest day for me, I'm still recovering from my double walk on Wednesday and my ankle felt a little wonky this morning. Tomorrow, I'll jump back in.
We'll have a cool fall-like weekend before temps jump back up for the final push of Summer days.
Items for the bathroom remodel are starting to arrive. It's actually going to happen!!!

1 Miracle Mile this morning followed up by my PopSugar arm routine. I'm thinking next week I'll try 2 Miracle Miles.
Right now, I feel pretty good. I'm still coughing throughout the day. Move too fast - cough. Drink or eat something - cough. As far as I know, I'm now coughing in my sleep so that's an improvement.

I'm starting to pull things out of the bathroom to determine if they will make it back into the bathroom after the remodel, find a new place in the house, or just pitch it.

Ry had a conversation with a long-time client/friend who mentioned that his daughter is also very sensitive to WiFi and electromagnetic fields. Interesting that she also had a lot of MRIs and CT scans while growing up. We won't know the results of Ry's CT scan until next week but he did have a couple of side effects in the region they scanned afterwards. He didn't have to drink that heavy liquid but did get an iodine IV for the contrast.

Oh my gosh, we went out to dinner on Thursday after our hair cuts and although I only had a cobb salad, I was sick all night and sick all day on Friday. Yesterday I was just dragged out, so there must have been something in it that really effected me. Note to self: Do not go out to dinner again in the near future!!!!
I am so excited for your new bathroom @Deeder522! It is the perfect time to declutter! Once a year, I pretend I have to move a room and get rid of anything I would not want to move and that helps my 'get rid of it" mindset a lot. Stuff just accumulates or breeds in cabinets and bathrooms are the worst. They are the grave yards for all failed products that we spent money on that never worked or made us break out! I am convinced that gnomes bring stuff into my house as well!!!
It is the snacking for sure @lclark04957. MFP always says "weight is lost in the kitchen." It's those darn evening calories!!! :grumble:
Hopefully, I am back on track! "bigsmile:

@zichab food poisoning is no joke. I got it from some homecoming event years ago and to this day I refuse to eat meat at cookouts if I don’t know how long it’s been sitting in a chafing dish.
@Deeder522 Nice on the upper arms!! Those and my abs tend to be forgotten. I signed up for a toning class through our local adult ed so it will be good to push me out of my comfort zone. It starts Sept 16.
    9/7 & 9/8 HH 1 mile
My streak of exercising and no snacking is still going.

2 Miracle Miles this morning. I bit slow but I made it through it.
My neighbor invited me over to see her new place, about 1 mile around the corner. So I'm heading there late morning. Then this afternoon I have a client.

After 2 days off due to errands and appointments, I returned today for another 2 Miracle Miles.

Tomorrow I'll be up early for the tub surround being delivered and the team coming to install our glass block basement windows.

2 Miracle Miles this morning. I think I'll stay here for a bit longer before I try to move up to 3 Miracle Miles.

My tub surround arrived but the glass block windows had to reschedule. The demo of the bathroom also got pushed back by a few days. So now I get new windows for the basement and a bathroom demo on the same day.

    Happy Friday the 13th!

I’m doing pretty well with September goals. I have had a couple snacks, but I evaluated beforehand… Am I hungry or bored? Is this a good choice? Baby steps. Exercising is spot on. 1 mile yesterday and 3 today. I’m making it a priority now, and my energy is so much better. My aerobics class starts Monday with focus on toning so I’m hoping to tone up a little before winter blah sets in. It ends Dec 5.
@Deeder522 Looking forward to seeing those bathroom remodel pics!!!

Yesterday, I had an active rest day. working with clients is a lot of mental exercise. 😉
This morning I did 1 Mile for Burn to the Beat. I didn't sleep well last night and didn't have enough in me to push through for a 2nd mile.

My bathtub is still MIA. I spoke to Home Depot and they said it arrived in our city but was then transferred to a 3rd party for delivery. The 3rd party has until today to deliver it. If they don't they have an additional 5 business days to explain why it wasn't. After that Home Depot will consider the time lost and refund me. Yeah...so...my Demo starts a week from tomorrow. So I'm on the panic bus search for a tub that is in stock b/c I do not have faith in Home Depot right now.

It's a Dense Foggy Waringin morning here. I can barely see the property line. It was also a good time to get 2 Miles with Leslie on YouTube.

The Tub is still MIA but I was able to locate a backup locally. I feel better having a backup plan and kind of like the backup tub better. 😊 Waiting on the contractor's material list and have to order a few odds and ends yet. Hoping we are still on track for the demo on Thursday.
