What do you like to be called? I am Ceri, pronounced like that imposter on the iPhone.
How did you learn about the 5% Challenges? On Spark People Spring of 2010 I started with the very first challenge
How many 5% Challenges have you done? I missed one challenge in all those years, so I think this is 60
What do you like to do for fun? Read, watch some TV and Movies, play games on my phone, I love to study the Bible and do research. I love to learn new things.
What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live.I live 20 miles South of South Williamsport, PA, home of the LL World Series.
Do you have a pet? I have 2 rescued Cats
What are your health/fitness goals for this season? I hope to get back to basics
How would your pet or friend describe you? kind, loving, loyal, generous

What is your favorite TV show? At this time I am binge-watching Bones.
What are your favorite fall activities? Leading a Bible Study at my Church. It goes through winter too.

2 fun things about you? I died twice. My Granddaughters were born the same day 3 years apart. The oldest was a month early and the youngest was a week late
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? Be consistent! If you miss something for a day, do it the next day and keep going.

Since 2010 Winter.
What do you like to do for fun?
Walk with friends as we totally GOOF OFF often getting others around us laughing so hard. Day trips around our area. Cribbage (I am a 2 time champion) along with doing videos of my cat Oscar accompanied by Izzy. OH MUCH MORE!!!
What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live.
I live in the Greater Portland, Maine area. Right on the water and I LOVE the area I live in! Portland is a very pretty city in the Fall people flock to Maine to view the leaves changing. I've lived here all of my life and I understand why!! It's GORGEOUS!!!
Do you have a pet?
I have had Izzy for 14 years (cat) FOOLISHLY (LOLOL OR NOT!) a year and a half almost ago I also adopted a very foolish 9 month boy kitty. Izzy hated me at first for that, but now they are friends. He's as foolish as she is lovable. I get to laughing WAY to hard!!
What are your health/fitness goals for this season?
I have congestive heart failure and chronic kidney disease which is now bordering on kidney disease which I DO NOT want. Losing weight is very important to me by eating well, in my calorie range while exercising at 60 to 90 minutes 5 days a week, and the other 2 days are less.
How would your pet or friend describe you?
My friends say "Oh you are crazy!" as they laugh, but also "I come to you because you are kind, you listen and care, and also do not force advice on me." My 2 cats "She needs to learn to only give us TREATS 24/7/365!" LOLOL As the owner hmmm no treats are treats.
What is the last thing you finished?
Give it a name if you can. Decluttered my closet and NOT refilling it back up again!! Also attended over the summer a huge family reunion in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. I hadn't been to one in decades!! It was so much fun!! I flew home and learned flying isn't my thing any more! But, I may attend the next one also. I will likely have to fly.
What is your favorite TV show?
Well its not really a show but PATRIOT FOOTBALL GAMES on TV.
What are your favorite summer activities?
I had stopped swimming after a scare last year, but found out during the summer in a lake is still great!! Being with my GD and the 2 ggs! Walking, goofing off, having BBQs with friends. Soon it'll be fall, my mind is walking in the leaves (It's so much fun!) I may even ask a friend if we'd like to go to a MAZE!! I've not done that yet!!
What is your favorite type of exercise?
Walking by far!
Would you rather exercise, wash a car, or clean the house?
Clean the house. I love a clean house. Its relaxing and is done no matter the weather.
What always cheers you up?
Talking to friends who are struggling in helping them I always feel awesome. As well as getting together on signal and goofing off! Plus reading or watching videos that are positive.
2 fun things about you?
A dry quick sense of wit, often people miss much of what I say and laugh later. That tickles me. I have a very good friend who's the same, (well okay quite a few friends, birds of a feather flock together!) when we are together (including online) it can be so funny.
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share?
Resetting my goals per challenge helps me to focus on a goal as I write it out to achieve it.
Keeping it real for myself. WIN/WIN!!!
Anything else you would like to share? This challenge has literally saved my life, thanks to losing 110 lbs., I survived 2 events.
Would you like to share a picture of you or whatever you would like?
Things I love include my GD and the 2 boys, my 2 foolish cats, the Atlantic Ocean, and taking pictures of lightening storms from where I live.

How did you learn about the 5% Challenges? When I joined Sparkpeople many years ago. I do not remember when exactly.
How many 5% Challenges have you done? 4 for every year at least 36
What do you like to do for fun? crafting, games with grandchildren and going to the casino, time alone with DH (ooops too much! LOL)
What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. Fayetteville, Arkansas It is the home of the Arkansas Razorbacks Gotta love that football team!! My sister and I watch every game on TV as long as it is televised!
Do you have a pet? Does my DH count? LOL just being silly
What are your health/fitness goals for this season? To try and stay on track with my diet. Hoping they can get what is wrong with my heart fixed so I can get back on track with my regular exercises instead of just stretching.
How would your pet or friend describe you? That I do not act my age. If it weren't for my physical health my gf believes I would be out there on the swings and other park equipment with the grandkids! I love to laugh and I loved running around with the kids when I was able.
What is the last thing you finished? Give it a name if you can. my lunch?? LOL sorry. Only thing I can think of would be the badges I make for the Shape shifters and as far as at home, I made Christmas ornaments with the grandkids pictures on them for each of my 3 daughters. I am currently starting on some ghosts that stand on the table by themselves and you can put a tealight under them to make them glow at night.
What is your favorite TV show? I have a lot. I love the Chicago Fire and Chicago PD and the NCIS shows and several others.
What are your favorite fall activities? It will be the same as any other season since I am housebound. I am going to get back into quilling (I hope) and get back to organizing and studying our ancestry.
What is your favorite type of exercise? It used to be dance. Now I would say Seated Tai Chi

What always cheers you up? Talking on the phone to a friend or having someone just popover for a visit.
2 fun things about you? I love to laugh and make other people laugh. Anyone up for a good board game? I love to play games.
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share?
1. Never deprive yourself of something you really love. Just eat a smaller portion of it.
2. Not only use a 9 inch plate but make sure none of your foods touch one another. Just like a picky child. This also helps with portion control.
Anything else you would like to share? I have 5 of the best grandchildren around!!

What do you like to be called? Heidi (hicim705)
How did you learn about the 5% Challenges? I found the 5% Challenges shortly after I joined SparkPeople ~ I've been with this great community ever since. I was also one of the Overall Leaders that was instrumental in bringing the 5% Challenges to MFP when SP closed.
How many 5% Challenges have you done? I'm not sure but I've taken part in most of them - except for 3 or 4 rounds since I joined them.
What do you like to do for fun? I love theatre, especially musical theatre. I try to perform or help out back-stage with local community groups whenever possible.
What major city do you live in or near? State? I live in NJ - the western part of the state, close to PA. If you look at a map of NJ and find Route 78, head west ~ I live in Hunterdon County.
Do you have a pet? I sure do! I have a dog - a lab mix - named Raven. I also have a 'grand-kitty', a calico named Kyra - my daughter's cat.
What are your health/fitness goals for this season? I need to get back on track - no matter what I have to do to get there!
How would your pet or friend describe you? Raven would describe me as her 'best friend' - she seems to adore me and has claimed me as 'her person'. Kyra, my daughter's cat - would describe me as the lady that comes to visit and somehow feels a lot like 'family'. Friends would likely have some nice things to say about me. I like to think of myself as a friend that can be counted on.
What is the last thing you finished? Give it a name if you can. Dinner, LOL - I just finished eating!
What is your favorite TV show? Currently, I love 'Outlander' and am looking forward to it starting up again this fall. I'm currently watching reruns of a lot of 'older TV shows' on MeTV
What are your favorite fall activities? Walking outside in the crisp air and looking at all of the beautiful fall colors.
What is your favorite type of exercise? Truthfully, I don't have a favorite as I don't care for exercise, but, if I HAD to choose a favorite - it would be walking.

What always cheers you up? Connecting with family and friends. Showtunes make me happy!!
2 fun things about you? When I first got out of school, I became a Travel Agent.
I did that for several years. One time I was able to go to Athens, Greece for a WEEKEND - yup, EWR to Athens, Greece in 3 days
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? I wish I did. Recently, I have been 'all over the place' with my healthy lifestyle journey and I really need to buckle down and get back to basics.
I really 'know' what to do, I really just need to be sure to practice what I know to get back to a better, healthier & happier 'me'.

How did you learn about the 5% Challenges?
I have been doing this for years and I asked Dee to give me a heads up about this Fall Challenge because I was not doing the Summer Challenge. We had so many visitors at that time, I knew I could not keep up with the responsibilites of being on a team.
How many 5% Challenges have you done?
I really do not know, but I did this when it was a "Spark" challenge.
What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy cooking, being active with walks, swimming, etc. My husband and I enjoy our children and our grandchildren as well as friends and neighbors. Reading is also fun for me, mainly fiction. We have bird feeders and are always learning more about bird species.
What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live.
I live in north cental BC, Canada on a rural property overlooking a lake and a mountain.
Do you have a pet?
We have a large dog, Murphy and three cats. Murphy takes it on himself to bark at the cats if they are fighting with each other or getting ready to jump on our table. He also barks at any bears daring to come near our house. Lilly and Marlane are our two 17 year old sister cats and Telly is the playful young kitty who has not been welcomed by the two older kitties yet, but knows Murphy is his friend.
What are your health/fitness goals for this season?
I'd like to lose a little weight to feel healthier. Being more active and getting outdoors every day would be also part of my plan.
How would your pet or friend describe you?
I am caring, usually happy and enjoying life.

I just finished breakfast, a novel and joining this team.
What is your favorite TV show?
I usually enjoy comedies and the humorous/political shows like Stephen Colbert's and Jimmy Kimmel's.
Mysteries are also favorites of mine, including humorous mysteries like "Shakespeare and Hathaway". The romantic/comedies, some from Hallmark are favorites of mine, but not favorites of my husband.
What are your favorite fall activities?
I enjoy getting outside while it is not too hot and not icy or snowy. We enjoyed some canoeing and camping lately.
What is your favorite type of exercise?
I like stretching, dancing, walking, skiing, swimming, etc. It depends on the season and my energy level. Music added to any exercise makes it more fun for me and being outside. Sharing exercise with my family, pets and friends makes it fun.

My family.

My husband and I enjoy each other after over fifty years and part of that is teasing and laughing together. I enjoy wearing bright colors.

I always enjoy my exercise choices and know if I only eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full, I would not be overweight at all.

I enjoy the 5% community, meeting others with fitness goals and hearing about their challenges and

What do you like to do for fun? Bake (not so much now, because of trying to lose weight), read bookds about ancient cultures and mythologies, surf the net, watch Amazon Prime and Britbox, exercise
What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. For the past four years I've lived in a tiny rural town in the mountains of NorthCentral PA. Previously, I lived my whole life in the NorthEast suburban NJ, and Manhattan, NY. Needless to say, I've experienced a huge culture shock! LOL
Do you have a pet? Not at present, but have had several rescue cats in the past
What are your health/fitness goals for this season? Remain firmly seated on my health and fitness wagon!!! (I've always fallen off in the Autumn-Holiday season because of such an emphasis (and pictures!) on yummy comfort foods and spectacular desserts) I want to continue losing weight - slower is OK, if need be - and keep up my cardio of "10,000 steps" every day!
How would your pet or friend describe you? Quiet, low-key but with a quirky sense of humor
What is the last thing you finished? Making a huge pot -to freeze - of cabbage soup (with crushed tomatoes; sliced red/orange/yellow peppers; cucumbers; zucchini; hot peppers and Italian spices)
What is your favorite TV show? At the moment, "From", "Silent Witness", and "The Rings of Power"
What are your favorite fall activities? In the past, bake pies, cakes and cookies, and make soups, stews and casseroles... This year I think I'll be just daydreaming about making those! LOL
What is your favorite type of exercise? At the moment, peddling "10,000 steps a day"

2 fun things about you? Nothing about me is particularly "fun"! Interesting things include being homeless for 18 months (2017-2018); I also taught theater workshops in maximum- and minimum-security prisons
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? Start with small, manageable steps as far as dieting (cutting out/down on salt, sugar, junk food, fast food etc) Do the same with exercise, start with small goals. Build on your accomplishments (weight-loss and fitness). Remember you're on a positive, more healthy journey

What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. I live in a small town south-east of Birmingham, AL. However, my mom had a stroke in Mar 2023 and I spend most of my time helping her on the farm now. The farm is in a small town north of Birmingham.
Do you have a pet? I have a small calico cat at my house, and we now have a small orange cat at mom's.
What are your health/fitness goals for this season? I would love to re-start my weight loss.
How would your pet or friend describe you? I'm the doting grandmother.
What is the last thing you finished? Give it a name if you can. Right now I'm making bears from old band uniforms as a fund raiser. So the last thing I finished was 14 bears, they are all named Aggie.

What are your favorite fall activities? Hiking through the woods and seeing the trees dressed in their fall colors.
What is your favorite type of exercise? hiking and riding my bike

What always cheers you up? Spending time with my hubby lounging in our hammocks.
2 fun things about you? I love to make quilts, my DDs get upset because their high school friends come to see me more than them
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? measure everything that goes in your mouth.
Anything else you would like to share? My doctor once told me you want to lose the weight as slowly as you put it on, so don't be discouraged if it takes a while.

I’ve been a member of this 5% Challenge ever since invited to join the Fall 2010 5% Challenge in SparkPeople.
I find fun in church worship and activities, movies, news, documentaries, newspapers, food, eating out, dinner theatres, concerts, waterfront walks, nature walks, knitting, photography, and gathering with small groups.
I live just eight blocks off Lake Superior in Northern Wisconsin.
No pets, but a pet lover.
My health goals are to lose five pounds and eat more plant-based foods.
My pet would say I’m loyal.
Gifts: I finished knitting a prayer shawl for God and competed my 46th jigsaw puzzle this year.
I enjoy the news casts the most, these days.
I seem to enjoy food the most during the fall season . . . It’s as if I’m getting ready to hybernate.
My favorite fitness minutes come from walking and modified strength training.

2 fun things about you? I raced on a sailboat from Los Angeles to Honolulu. I rebuilt a motorcycle transmission and engine and then rode on it for a several hundred mile road trip.
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? Persistent is most important. Not that you have to be perfect...just persistent. When you enjoy a treat, or miss a day or two of exercise...just focus and stay on track day after day.

Near Abilene, TX - we live in a tiny rural community outside of Abilene and our property is covered with oak trees and shinery. We've made a winding trail system through the trees and shinery which I have marked so I am able to follow the markers for a really vigorous hour workout in deep sand, on short steep hills, and over low logs.

What are your health/fitness goals for this season? Try to get back to the routine that has served me well for the last years. Health issues, surgeries, and doctor's appts (many in a far away city) have hampered my workout program and ability to stay in shape the way I like to stay in shape

What is your favorite type of exercise? It used to be running long distance but now that I'm 68, it's hiking long distance...much more joint friendly for a person who has had four foot surgeries, a knee surgery, and osteoarthritis all over

2 fun things about you? I've officially been diagnosed with narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia (well, I know that doesn't look like fun but now I don't have to browbeat myself for my eternal exhaustion)
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? I've had osteoarthritis since a young age and the best thing I can do for myself is to keep moving. I make sure to get in significant movement every hour I'm not sleeping. This has also helped me with my sleep apnea (I have that, too!) issues...if I'm moving, I'm breathing, always a good thing 😂
Anything else you would like to share? Fall is my favorite time of year because it means the temps of 100-110 should be lessening (but not always). 🥵

I get up first thing everyday and climb on the treadmill with my coffee and computer. If there are errors and mistakes in this post understand I just woke up and haven't finished my coffee. I just got back from holiday at the beach.

How about a joke... My husband walked in upset because had burned the steaks on the grill. I tried to comfort him by saying, "It's OK, we all make mis-steaks sometimes."

I like to read mostly! I also love to design floor plans and closet organization just for fun. I never get anywhere with them, not really. More like a "if I had all the money, I would do this to our house!" kind of hobby.

I live in central Canada, in Winnipeg. I don't know why I live somewhere so wintery when I don't like winter. Or somewhere with such hot summers when I don't like to be hot haha. Probanly since it's one of the most affordable/stable places to live in Canada. It's not a huge city, I think just under 1M people.

Get half way to goal weight, I'd love to see some movement out of my belly and chest but it seems to all be coming from my butt lol

I have 5 kids between ages 7 and 8 months old. The 8m olds are twins. Is that two?
Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share?
3 day salads. When cooking consistently gets hard, make a massive no-leaf salad that you can pull out and eat with every meal for 3 days. Then make a different one for the next 3 days. It helps with getting your veggies and fibre in when you aren't all that motivated or enthusiastic about cooking (or are short on sleep or time). If you get sick of it, you can sometimes turn it into roasted veggies or a pasta casserole.

I'm hoping to get off the rest of the baby weight soon. It's actually not even the weight I gained with my most recent twins (i lost it all with a lot of muscle mass, as they sucked me dry of that, but weight i gained after I had my 2nd child.
