Hoping to find some like minded women to buddy up with and compare notes on strength training. I am 69 y/o and am working with a trainer at the local Y. Hoping to meet new people and share experience.

Hi! I'm about 50 and I've been working with a trainer too.

I'm 65 female. Don't have a trainer, just starting with what I have at home. Need encouragement! Also, my doc wants me to watch foods that cause inflammation. I have Osteoarthritis.

I am 55 and really need to get back to lifting weights. I can not seem to find a consistent time to go. I am losing weight (down 28 lbs) and really want to be strong and fit again - I was about 7 years ago. Between hypothyroidism, menopause and Covid I have not been able to get a good weight lifting routine restarted. Accountability would really help.

I started doing body weight squats before bed - I really need to get my squat depth better. I have a few routines in mind and will try to get to the gym 2 times this week. I'll focus on compound lifts - but squats are always a challenge for me.

    Hope your'e all doing well!!

I just got back from my first Dietitian visit and she also wants me to start to add foods that decrease inflammation. I'll add walnuts, olives, olive oil, and salmon. I couldn't find the chia seeds or hemp seeds in the grocery store....those are a bit weird anyway so I have an excuse to wait to add them.

I personally love squats but I HATE lunges. Maybe as you get restarted you could add the lifts you like to do best and that make you feel strong and confident? Then you'll look forward to your gym days while you restart your gym habit.
