Shelley, April will be here before we know it! Time is flying by! You will love being retired! Fish, flowers and fresh air!! Yes!
I did 5.43 miles in 111 mins to the post office and back. The wind was cold going but nice coming home. I forgot my umbrella but that as okay...I didn't really need it.
The kids went to a Sharks game down in San Jose. We have Bean for a sleep over.
    Eating popcorn and reading now.
    Later, my friends.

Had Collin Duty this morning then started cleaning house for our housekeeper. My trainer is sick today.
Collin and I went past the animals today. The roosters were crowing, the ducks were swimming in their little pond, the goats were were up against the fence watching us, and the cow was just hanging out. Collin told me about a lot of it!! <3
Now, I'm going to read for a while.

Chris eating popcorn and reading sounds really nice. As does Collin and all the animals.

Went to a Tabata class tonight. Kicked my butt.

I walked to our community meeting Sunday, about a quarter mile with two steep uphills. This is my second walk in hills (first was last week) in the last few years because of knee pain. But my knees have been fine afterwards, which is really exciting.

It also made me hungry and apparently the exertion did not compensate for those additional calories. So I have a couple days until weigh-in to get the extra pounds back off. Last night I fought off a late-night snack craving. Recognizing the sneaky craving was a good start. So feeling hopeful all around.

Good going on the climb and the avoiding late night snacks, Paula!
Shelley, didn't you use to do Tabata a while back?
We had Collin Duty this morning. He and I went for a walk around the high school. It's 2 miles. We've done it before but he has always fallen asleep...not today!! And he had two plastic Easter eggs that he kept pulling apart and handing them back to me to put back together...over...and...over...and...over. Made the walk so much longer!! :D But it was beautiful out there. We got to see a big fire truck at the high school. The kids were getting their gear on and listening to the firemen talk. Collin loved it. He did the firetruck siren while we past them! So cute!
Our housekeeper came today. I love her!!
Ronan is here now and I am just going to read.

Paula that is so inspiring. I hate hills myself. But know the value of them to staying in shape. I need will power to stop snacking also. I am going to make walking a habit when I retire. Well weather permitting.

Chris I love how you are always out walking with him. All the experiences he is having with you. Enjoy your rest. I don't think I ever took a class of Tabata. Maybe a YouTube one. My lungs hurt. Guess that means they were working hard also.

My mom fell and broke her hand tonight. Hit her head also. Head appears good.

We talked to the animals this morning. The roosters crowed, the goats bleated, the horses neighed and the cow didn't say anything just watched the chickens scratch the dirt. Then we walked to the signal at the end of the block and watched huge trucks with two trailers zip by. A whole bunch!! Then we walked down the path to the dog park and talked to puppies and Great Danes!! Then we came home.
It's a good thing I was home (trainer still sick) because SIL took his sweet time getting here to p/u Collin. It's Early Release Wednesday...as it is with each Wednesday...and SIL made it really, really hard for Pat to leave to p/u Ronan from school. I don't know what he would have done if I hadn't been here...sigh...
    Thanks for listening ...again!!

Chris it sounds like you and Collin had a wonderful time with all the animals. Very exciting. I could almost see you two there.

I am not feeling the greatest today. Migraine visiting.

Shelley - sorry to hear about your mom's broken hand! That will be challenging. I'm also excited for your impending retirement. I can only imagine all of the great things you would do

Paula - well done with the hill! And I'm so glad you're feeling some relief on your knees with the weight loss. That's fantastic. Those knees can be so tough right?

    Chris - I always admire you're walking ability :-).

I've really been trying to focus on doing some weight-bearing exercises. Last Saturday I tried a Pilates yoga class that was so good. It was so difficult. I felt it for days lol. I did a Peloton a full body weight workout yesterday morning before work, and did yoga last night which was great. I do plan on doing the Pilates again on Saturday.

I am also trying to work on that sneaky late night eating Paula. It's so insidious :-) trying to have my protein during the day so I don't feel the urge to go after that sugar or carbs.

I'm gearing up for a good amount of travel. I leave on November 3rd for Houston for the week and then the 11th for Nashville and then the 14th for Atlanta. The Atlanta trip is a family wedding we're all going which I'm really excited about.

It's hard to believe her at the end of October :-) and it was 85° yesterday in Pennsylvania which just seems odd.

Here's to a healthy day ladies!

Shelley, I'm sorry, I totally missed that your mom broke her had. What happened? How do they fix a broken hand? Glad her head is okay. Wow!! I hope she's doing okay.

Happy Friday! Hope everybody's having a good morning.

Busy day ahead. I start my meetings at 7:30 today so need to try to figure out some exercise before then. May go into a peloton workout in the basement. It's so dark out I won't do something outside.

I have a lunch with the United Way today. I think I've mentioned that I'm on the board of directors for our local United Way which I love. They're doing a little lunch for the board which should be fun. I really want to be mindful of what I eat.

Grabbing my covid shot beforehand. I got my flu shot about a week and a half ago which was fine. I like to separate them. I was on the fence about getting the COVID shot to be honest, but with Mom here I want to make sure that she's fine this winter because of all of her health issues so I'm going to grab one. Jim got one with no reaction so fingers crossed.

I can't believe next week is Halloween! We're going to have to carve our pumpkins soon :-) well probably tomorrow. I always like roasting the pumpkin seeds. We did that every year when I was little.

Hope everybody has an amazing day!

    Shelley,

Keep us updated on how your mom's doing, okay? A broken hand sounds really hard. Hope they're giving her lots of nice drugs. This is one of the times when they are a blessing. Best wishes.

Paula I agree. She will need some meds for the pain. Seems it is a bad break. She has an appointment Monday with a specialist.

Karen I wish your travels took you closer to me. Keep doing the weight bearing and no sneaky late night snacking for either of us. You are such an inspiration inspiring woman.

Chris no harm. I guess we will both find out what the treatment plan is soon.

Getting up tomorrow and going to the gym for some weight workout. Meeting a friend.

Chris It sounds really fun. Enjoy.

Made it to RIP. A weight class with music. Bad music. But still a fun class.
Moved my Copper Band butterfly into the new tank. Also the baby angelfish. Hope they make it. Worked on the clam tank. Took the skimmer apart. The motor was clogged. Cleaned everything and working again. My clam, Chowder, has really grown.

Shelley, sounds like you had fun with your tanks yesterday.
I didn't stay for the party. Pat got vertigo, so he couldn't go to the party. I didn't want him home alone just in case something happened. He fell down the last time he got it. Nasty stuff.
Pat is okay this morning. I'm going to the post office this morning then we are going to Sara and Pete's to paint and carve pumpkins. I have ordered pumpkins from Raley's to be delivered this afternoon...hope they come. We didn't know this was going to happen until last night!! Oh, well...we'll get it done!
That's it for now. Have a great Sunday, my friends.

    Hi Chris,

Glad Pat is okay. It's scary when stuff happens, isn't it? Yesterday my brother went to ER fearing a mini-stroke (TIA) after a brief numbness in his hand and face. They ruled out a TIA cuz a single clot wouldn't affect both locations, but they still did a battery of tests which he passed. Hoping it's an anomaly but if it recurs, they'll check s'more.

My 2004 Volvo died a few weeks ago and is now being donated to a good cause. I bought a pre-owned certified Subaru this weekend. They used to just call them "Used cars" but with only 3,000 miles, it's almost new. And sooo purdy... :blushing:

    Paula

This is not a picture of my car, but it's still the same model.

Paula congratulations on your new "purdy" vehicle. I hope it lasts for at least another 10 years.

Chris vertigo sucks. I seem to get it more often if I have not been drinking enough water. I hope it passes quickly. And that Pat is well.

I ordered 3 new corals for the tank. Fingers crossed they do well. When did I arrive at a time when I thought to myself that spending small fortunes for a one inch piece of coral was a good deal? I have lost my senses. But this nice little piece of coral was on sale. I had a 20% discount code and I could get Saturday delivery. Oh my what a great deal. o:)

Moved my Copperband and tiny angelfish into the new tank. They are adjusting slowly.

    Shelley,

I'm a rock collector and it's too easy to spend a fortune on those too nowadays. Just fall in love with a picture online, click a button and they come to our houses. (Must admit a little ouch watching the bank account shrink tho.)

Your little lovelies - and your appreciation for them - sound wonderful. I hope they all do glowingly well.

Paula thanks so much. I do believe I like the challenge. Acroporas grow slowly. Are very demanding and are interesting. What's not to love. You showed us your collection once. Stunning.

Shelley, Pat is doing fine. He thinks the water drinking has something to do with the vertigo, too.
I love pictures of your tiny swimmers...pictures, please.
Paula, my trainer's husband's transmission blew up, they have to get a new car too. They might donate theirs so the rest of the car parts can be put to use. He's a cop...works in So California...long commute, car failed close to home...thank the car gods.
We have Collin Duty this morning. Then I have my trainer for a 60 min workout. Then I'm gonna read and eat popcorn.
Have a great Wednesday, my friends.

Chris I am seeing a popcorn trend. I am going thinking you are onto something. I should join you. Glad Pat is doing well. Vertigo is real!

Nice workout. I should have done more today.

Went to dinner with some friends. It was lovely.

I need to figure out how to take better photos of my little fishes.

Time to get back to working out and eating healthy. It’s been a tough three weeks. Nothing prepares you for the loss of your mother. Not sure when/if I will ever recover. But I know mom wants me to start living again.

Kathy, sending you love and good thoughts. <3<3
We had Collin this morning and Ronan this afternoon. Sara, Pete and Collin came to p/u Ronan and go to dinner at friends then Trick or Treating with them. We have had a few Trick or Treaters. We still have a lot of Play Doh left. Might just have to send it to school... :o
Tomorrow we'll have both boys for a while. It's a No School Day for Ronan but Sara has a New Teacher Work Day.
    Later my friends,

Kathy you will recover. Some days will be harder than others. When we lost Rockys mom it was awful. I still want to tell her things. She has been gone a long time. My dad was really hard for me. We were so much alike. I miss him terribly. But I can smile when I think of him now. It will slowly get easier. I still miss them. Hugs

And yes we need to get back at it. Saturday I might go to the gum. Depends on a coral delivery I have coming. But I will do something.

Kathy - thinking of you...Grief and loss is so tough. We are here for you!

Paula - congratulations on your new car. Subarus are such great vehicles.

I also enjoyed Halloween last night. We sat outside with our neighbors and gave Candy to the kids. They were all so polite and lovely. I mean you are giving them candy right? But it was just nice to see the kids having a good time even the teenagers. I never mind when teenagers come out. I always feel like life gets serious too quickly why not have a good time.

Even though about it is 18 and did not go out, shw still carved pumpkins which has always been a thing for us. We roasted up the seeds which are so yummy.

I'm working from home today thank goodness. I was in 3 days this week. Going just sunrise yoga here at 7:00 :-) I haven't been in a while so really looking forward to doing it in the morning.
