I've had a lazy few days as I've had a very sore throat & earache. Not very nice but I'm taking paracetamol & throat lozenges & hoping it soon goes away.
I'm off to see Culture Club tonight in a new big arena in Manchester.Ive not been to many concerts & my friend Hilary who is 75 years young goes to alot on her own.So I thought I would go with her. We're not sat together as she paid for a premium ticket & I'm in the cheap seats.
The support act is Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet.,Their hit 'True" was my first dance at my wedding and Heaven 17.
I will be up dancing in my seat 💃
My first concert was Culture Club that was back in high school - wow, now I'm dating myself - just turned 57yo
Have fun - loved Spandau Ballet!!!5 -

@izzyred9400 I hope you felt well enough to enjoy the concert. How fun! I used to go to every concert that came to Buffalo back in the late 70s / early 80s. Sadly I didn't get to see either of those groups, but definitely would have. Now I can't hear either without thinking of The Wedding Singer. 🤣🤣4 -

@DaffyGirl88 Sweet of you to ask! I am doing alright; feeling a little better. I got my walking pad today and just set it up and made sure it is working. Will test it out this evening since I still need a bunch of steps anyway. Exciting!

@pupowl it probably sounds weird but when you mentioned taking Tinus for a walk in a prior post I sort of pictured something like this:
In my mind the two of you have been on many adventures together.

@CasandraW I am so very sorry for your sudden loss of your mother. Prayers said for you and all who loved her.
@Pupowl I read all of your posts. If anyone doesn't want to, they don't have to. I say to write as much as you want. I'm about to write a bunch myself:) Sorry to hear that you've been struggling with things. I hope Tinus will be okay. It is so hard when our beloved pets have problems. I'm going through that myself with my dog who has cancer and is getting chemo. Loneliness is so difficult, especially at this time of year. I am married with big kids now, but I remember being so lonely in my 20s. I lived alone, and it was so hard sometimes. It really is hard to make friends as an adult. I think the holidays are hard for many people, but most don't talk about it or show it. The struggle is real. I love that walking pad. I hope that works out for you.
@izzyred9400 I didn't realize Culture Club was still playing! I used to have their albums:) Hope you're feeling better.4 -
Well, I got to onederland, briefly, and now I'm not. I'll get back there. I am still on the struggle bus, big time. I haven't been logging. Life has thrown a lot at me lately. I've been eating too much sugar. I don't know what is going on with me mentally/emotionally with this journey.
It seems like being under 200 is scaring me. I think I am subconsciously fighting against it. It is such a milestone for me. Three years ago I was in the 190s for several months, and then gained forty-five pounds back, and here I am this year getting that off again. Before that loss, though, I was not under 200 since 1999!!! That's a long time.
Part of it is that people start to notice at this point that I have lost weight. They start commenting, and I don't like that. They get all excited and ask me questions and tell me I look good. Did I not look good before? It makes me very self-conscious. If I gain any back, I know that they are watching my body. I just don't like it. Of course, the comments here are great because we're all in the same boat. We all know the struggle and the fears. It's support and encouragement here, not judgement.
I've had my daughter home for the past week because she was sick with a horrible and painful ear infection. She leaves in the morning to go back to her apartment. My son will be coming home next week for a months long stay while he is changing careers. My husband likes to snack at night and loves his cookies and such. So, I need to figure out how to do this when others are here, when I am preparing/cooking food for others, when I eat out, etc. I need to stop emotional eating when hard things happen.
I know all of the things. I know what to do. So why is it so hard to do it? I am so unmotivated to measure, weigh and log right now. It's crazy! Anyway, if you've read this long, thanks. At least the damage to the scale isn't horrible right now. I've got to get back on track.6 -

I've been super tired lately, so have been skipping some workouts. Yesterday, I went for my walk with the boys, but that's it. I rested during nap time and stayed home instead of going to the gym in the evening. I ended up falling asleep on the couch at 8! So I guess I needed the extra rest and sleep. Hopefully I'll feel up for going to the gym tonight.5 -
I'm 36 years old, 5'3.SAHM to two beautiful toddlers, both with some special needs. Life is crazy, but I'm doing my best to make the most out of life for myself and my family.

Week 6 actual weight: 146.4
Day 43—12/08— 145.5. Hmmm... I'm dropping weight a bit too fast. Almost 2 pounds in 2 days? A bit of a woosh may have been building up, but I also think I'm a bit dehydrated. I haven't been focusing on water the last few days. So I'm going to try drinking more today, and see if my weight evens out a bit.
Day 44—12/09— 147.2. I drank more water yesterday, putting me around where I think I should be. I gotta stay hydrated.
Day 45—12/10—147.7. Took the day off from the gym, but went for a walk. Calories were just a smidge higher than I would like them to be. Going to pre-track my food today.
Day 46—12/11— 147.7. Anxiety was pretty bad. Exercise was pretty scarce yesterday. Eating was okay.
Day 47—12/12— 148.0. I was really tired yesterday so took it easy, again. Food wasn't the best. I'm going to do better today.

Week 7 actual weight:
Previous and Future WeeksPrevious days' notes were lost when I got a new phone and my notes didn't get carried over. Copying and pasting from an old post proved to be too troublesome, especially for something that no one really needs or wants to re-read.
Day 36—12/01— 148.7. I was expecting my weight to be up from my sick weight yesterday, but wasn't expecting this much. I ate yesterday, but still well under my calories as I wasn't feeling great. Oh well.
Day 37—12/02— 149.1
Day 38—12/03— 148.3. I'm happy it came down a little.
Day 39—12/04— 147.9.
Day 40—12/05— 146.7. Woo-hoo! I'm super excited for this new low. Hopefully it'll stick for the end of the week goal
Day 41—12/06— 147.0. I feel like I'm in the zone right now. I'm motivated, my healthy habits are taking hold and becoming routine, and I just feel like I'm doing things "right". I know this feeling won't last forever, but I'm going to try to hold on to it for a few more pounds at least.
Day 42—12/07— 146.4. My boys are spending the weekend with Gramma, so I'll have some more time to myself today. Have some errands, chores and things to do, but hoping to also have some down time for Me Time and maybe a little extra at the gym.

@PatriceFitnessPal, thank you for your kind words!! I’m closer to the gym while living here at our son’s and I still haven’t gone. 😔 I really struggle with making and keeping to any kind of routine. I’m thinking in that direction. I need to to sneak up on things sometimes.3

@iradi8 I totally understand your comment about people noticing and commenting I hate it. I feel like they are saying I looked terrible before, I don’t ever feel like I look terrible. I have felt beautiful at almost any weight and then when they say these things I feel like I am agreeing with them by losing weight. I’m not even sure that makes sense. .
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers3 -
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Right now I feel irritable, angry and a little in denial.
We had a private viewing before her cremation on Tuesday and then there is a private interment on the 27th. She has this glass enclosure at the cemetery that will hold her urn and you can add a few photos or objects. We have to decide what to put in there. From there we have a public reception/ celebration of life on January 5th.
It feels like a lot of goodbyes, but still not real. She was 716 -

Off to the Big Apple for the weekend so my step counts should increase considerably. Unfortunately living in a hotel and eating all meals out tends to negate that. But looking forward to it anyway. My son is moving there from Seattle and arrives this afternoon. We're driving up for the weekend. Wish me luck as driving in Manhattan is 🥺7 -

I had a nice long summary of my plans for today typed out, but then my phone lost it. I'm going to take it as a sign that I was rambling too much and just need to cut to the chase.
I've been anxious about today for a while. My son has an appointment with a new specialist that we have been waiting since April for. After that, I'm taking the boys down to my mom's (50 min drive) where we are taking them to a Christmas display. I'll be driving home in the dark, which makes me anxious on that road. I'm pretty sure I won't want to do any exercise when I get home, but just lay on the couch. So I made sure I did a little something yesterday.8 -
I enjoyed the concert, the arena was HUGE I got distracted by the audience moving around lol.Tony Handley sang TRUE so that was great. His voice was good but like all of us he's put on a bit of weight but he was still handsome.Boy George was ace,he had a few costume changes & his voice was just the same.He chatted all the way through & the graphics & effects were amazing.
My seat was good my friend paid double for her seat but couldn't see because of a huge speaker. She complained & they changed her seat to the front row !
Even though I was sat on my own, nobody was next to me on both sides so I had a good dance to all the oldies.7 -
@CasandraW What you said makes perfect sense to me. I get it. Also, you have a tough few weeks coming up. I'm sure you're going to feel all kinds of emotions for a while. Hugs to you. I lost my mom in 2023. She was 77 which didn't seem that old to me, so 71 doesn't seem long enough. Losing your mom, especially so suddenly, is so hard. I feel for you.
@izzyred9400 That sounds amazing!3 -
