ICE BREAKER QUESTION: If we met you in person today for the first time, what would be the most impressive thing about you?

I have been debating whether or not to answer this as it could be perceived as negative.

If we were to meet each other today for the first time I would have to say nothing impressive would be noticed. I am quiet. While I can be chatty I am not chatty during introductions. I’m borderline awkward. I can say hi and introduce myself but then I’m clueless. On a side note this is why I’m terrible at interviews.

@19shmoo69- This is me. And I don't shove my way into the conversation with super chatty people. I need space to enter a conversation. For some reason, I attract people who can talk about themselves for hours. (Probably because I'm a good listener, but no one wants to do 100% of the listening) I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I have a secret fear that I'm boring. I know I am not. But I tell myself that if people don't want to find out who I really am, then they aren't the type I want as friends. I don't have a lot of friends. Which is sort of OK, and sort of not.

Congrats @vegan4lyfe2012 for 2nd place by pounds & 3rd place by % as well as congrats go to @morenin for tying for 3rd by pounds! And another shout-out goes to @sleepygirl79 for making it onto the leaderboard!

@TeresaW2024 Me too! Oh gosh, those bites looked good but I am on a mission to shrink my liver! lol I am also going to start weighing in again in the new year. I hope your eating plan can match your lifestyle and you feel satisfied. You got this!

    @sleepygirl79 Congrats on the loss!

    @DrewsAnna Sorry about the binge.

@19shmoo69 I wouldn't say your answer is negative. It is okay to be quiet. Awkward is okay too, it's normal. A lot of people (myself included) are awkward when first meeting people.

@Katmary71 LOL yes! I will definitely enjoy that wine in the future. ;) Thank you but I did say, "Oh, I can't have this for about a year" when I should have just said, "Thank you!". That's my flaw: I say the first thing that pops into my head lol. I'm glad you got your stocking stuffers done. Was your dizziness from low blood sugar? I hope you feel better today.

@Cornanda True. They mean well, don't they? That's what we have to keep in mind. And how lucky are we to even get gifts? And thank you...it did go well. Thanks.

Hi all. I did a bunch of running around yesterday doing the last things I can do before surgery takes place (things like getting the water jugs filled, getting dog food, etc). After surgery, it may be up to a week before I can drive and then I don't know how well I'll feel to drive. I will be off work for 2 weeks. I also made broth and froze it for after my surgery. The turtles came out well, I think my coworkers will like them. I didn't taste them but they look good. 4 days to go!

@Katmary71 HaHa that is hilarious about RFK! He sure will be the one to watch next year if he gets confirmed. :D Many people in the Keto and Metabolic health community are all about getting outside barefoot and frying meat in beef tallow. I’m all for it! ;) Your nephews will appreciate you not Grinching on them. Let’s all weigh in next year! :)

@Cornanda This can be a tough time of year for many people. Hang in there, girl! And I would be your friend. I attract quiet, sweet women. :)

@trooworld With all of us returning to weigh-ins, our little team will rock the Leaderboard! ;) I bet you have a list of things to do before the surgery. Are you getting more excited or nervous?

Good morning! I had an hour-long conversation with my boss this morning, and now I have more on my to-do list. The funniest part is that I was the one to name our last two sermon series and come up with the graphic, and he just naturally assumed that was what I would do for the next one. He gave me an outline of the topic and told me to let him know what I came up with. I’m not sure how to feel, but I’m going with being flattered. :D I also have some housework and laundry to do. Joe and I are planning an outing this week to go to lunch and do a little shopping. The man is determined to buy me something. So I guess I will let him. :)

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: If we met you in person today for the first time, what would be the most impressive thing about you?

I’ve been thinking about this, and if you met me in person today, the first thing you would be impressed by is how loud I am. I’m not kidding. I am a deaf person’s best friend! I also have the great blessing of being louder than my dog, which comes in handy to shut her up when she is barking her fool head off. You would also be impressed at how quickly I could make you laugh…mostly at me. ;):)

@Cornanda that picture of Gus is way too cute! At first I thought there was little mittens from hanging down from the tree we're decorations in his hair🤣

@trooworld your surgery must be coming up soon, how are you doing?

Quick check-in. I have not been good at either tracking or going to the gym. Really surprised that I am not up more than I am. We celebrated my mom and bonus daughter's birthday we ordered Chinese food and had ice cream cake for dessert on Saturday just before my weigh in🤣.
Tomorrow's goal is to track all day!

@TeresaW2024 Yes we will! I do have a list and I'm not sure I can get it all done but that's okay. I'm getting both excited and nervous. With my knee bothering me so much and losing my mobility so quickly, I am looking forward the the relief of losing weight quickly. So, it's mostly excitement but also anxiety and nerves as well. Wow, that's a lot of pressure, eh? Good luck with that! I'm glad you and Joe are going to be able to get out. I hope it goes well. One of my BFFs is very loud and she doesn't realize it lol. I always say it's because she was raised on a farm with 8 siblings (she really was!). :D I am sure you would make me laugh.

@laurelfit57 Yes, on Friday! I am both excited and nervous: my mobility (due to my knee) is quickly going downhill and I have hope that if I lose weight, that pain will lessen. So, I'm really looking forward to that. But at the same time, I am afraid of the recovery. But I'll get through it! Oh Chinese food before weigh-in! I think that's happened to us all. But you didn't gain much, you basically maintained!

Hi all. Not much going on here, I am just counting down the days until Friday. I called to ask how long my surgery will be and it will take 2 hours. My SIL and my husband will be there. I woke up with a migraine. I took some medication. If I wake up with a migraine on Friday, I can't take anything so hopefully this is the last migraine for a while. I decided to wear an N95 mask this week because last Thursday, someone who was sick and knew it came to work and was talking to me. I can't afford to get sick right now. Then I found out someone else did the same thing and didn't tell anyone they were sick. We are having a department party tomorrow and it's in a small conference room. I am NOT taking off my mask (I wasn't going to eat anyway, I was going to drink a protein shake).

Since Thanksgiving, it has been one unplanned lifestyle disruption after another. Usually I am cooking everything at home, but this month we've had a lot of invitations. My nutrition and exercise plans have both suffered setbacks and disruptions. My plan, when I can get off the holiday train, is to go right back on my normal meal plan and exercise. The weather has impacted my walking, but I'm giving myself a pass on that until after the start of the new year. I've got alternative exercise plans when the weather stops me from walking.

@19shmoo69 Haha I was wondering if it was that, I think the bare feet are necessary though!

@micaroo4 I'm thinking like you to get right back on track, I know the better I do that the more successful I am.

QUESTION: How do you stay motivated or recover from setbacks if your holiday plans disrupt your routine? Getting back to it as soon as possible, I was very unhappy with my weight at the doctor's earlier so I think that will help me not get carried away this next week then I'll get back to it.

@trooworld That's frustrating about people not being mindful of being sick around others, I'm glad you're taking it into your own hands and wearing the mask. That would be super frustrating if you had to delay surgery over getting sick from someone! Oh the mask will help a lot at the party! When I used Invisalign having to take it out to eat, brush my teeth, and put it back in helped a lot with snacking. Only a few more days, yay! Hahaha that's funny about your wine comment, I'm trying so hard to be better about stuff like that. I did try the “nice perfume but I'm allergic to it so there's that” and it didn't work. I think Christmas may throw it off but after my back surgery I managed to get a few different free first deliveries from stores. Walmart delivery may be worth it for a month too.

@laurelfit57 Great seeing you we were on at the same time last night. Sounds like a delicious birthday and you had a great weigh in for just celebrating especially Chinese food!

@TeresaW2024 I think you're extremely important and valuable to your church and pastor, they're lucky to have you. Aw I hope you and Joe find something you just HAVE to have I love that. How funny I wouldn't have guessed you were loud.

@txcritter69 No worries just happy to see you! Happy birthday to our handsome Diesel!

@Cornanda I think you said it perfectly with no one wants to do 100% of the listening. I'm learning to speak up more but because I genuinely am interested in people and ask questions and listen I sometimes feel overwhelmed or like I never can get anything off my chest. Please feel free to talk more here I'm always happy to see your posts. Thank you my nephews make Christmas great I'm lucky to have them.

Hi friends! Had my last morning of PT, I didn't realize it was my last day but I think I got what I needed out of it. Also had the pain clinic today and yikes on my weight, I can't afford to wait until after Christmas to eat better but it will be challenging with parties. I got invited to a practitioner party Friday and am a little nervous, I got the white elephant gift and kind of wish I said no but Yvonne really wanted to treat me to dinner for it (we're having parties Thursday with white elephant gift exchanges plus I have a gift for her so it's a lot). I hit the stores again for appetizer stuff. Not much else going on, have a great night and happy Wednesday.

Happy almost Christmas! I've been riding my Trike most days, I love wearing the Bike Shorts under my skirt. My hands get pretty cold, but other than that I'm pretty warm. I'm done Christmas shopping. My husband got me a Swarovski Advent Calendar, its fun getting a new crystal every day. The theme this year is a Train with train cars. So adorable. Tonight, I got a big snowflake. I'm hoping tomorrow to get a new train car.

We just had some work done to our wrap around deck to help the rainwater run off instead of pooling. Hopefully it will work. I want it to rain so we can see if all that work made a difference.

    Merry Christmas!

@Katmary71 Yes, it is very frustrating! I would be so mad if I had to delay surgery because of someone else. I'm hanging in there. I've lost 6.4 lbs in a week! Too bad I'm not reporting my weights here. ;) Yeah, I feel bad about my wine comment lol. That's a good idea about delivery, thanks. I'm glad you got what you needed out of PT. Sorry about the weight. This time of year is so challenging. I hope the parties go well.

@FushiaKat How fun, that's a great advent calendar! I got a beauty advent calendar and am enjoying it. Merry Christmas!

How do you stay motivated or recover from setbacks if your holiday plans disrupt your routine? It comes down to getting healthier and regaining full mobility. I need to do this. I can't afford setbacks, so I've been very good.

Hi all. That migraine yesterday was really bad, it was the worst it's been in years. The medication didn't help and only made me feel nauseous. It feels like it could come back today. I ended up going home early yesterday because of the migraine. I tried to stay, I went into our wellness room for my lunch break but my head hurt just as bad when I came out. I came home and slept on the couch. When I woke up a few hours later, my head hurt less.

@trooworld I think wearing a N95 mask is a good idea for you right now. What a horror it would be if you came down sick. I would make everyone stay 6 feet away, too! :D How soon after the surgery do you think you will be able to come on here and let us know how you are doing? We all will be sending you our thoughts, prayers, and good vibes for an uncomplicated surgery and a fast recovery. Ugh on the migraine, and I hope it’s gone soon! <3

@Katmary71 It’s hard to keep our weight under control when faced with all the holiday foods. Just keep doing your best; the New Year will be here soon. :)

@FushiaKat, I’m glad you are enjoying your Trike so much. Wow, a Swarovski Avent calendar sounds magical! For years, Joe bought me a Waterford crystal ornament every year. I have a lovely collection that I just love! :)

Good morning! Very little going on today. It’s going to rain so staying home today. It’s trash day, and I have Sam's and Walmart orders coming, so Maggie should have a good barking day. :D Tomorrow, Joe and I are planning our Christmas lunch and shopping. I also have to buy iced tea and lemonade for the church because there is another potluck this Sunday! Ugh, don’t get me started!! :#

How do you stay motivated or recover from setbacks if your holiday plans disrupt your routine?
It’s hard to stay motivated or recover from a setback this time of year, but I try to stick to some basics, like working out and fasting for at least 12 to 16 hours.

Can't take much if any credit for this weight loss. I think it had to do with salt leaving my body, monthly cycle leaving. Didn't eat the greatest, didn't work out, in the process of getting over a cold. I'm just grateful I didn't gain this week.

Yesterday, (Tuesday) I was 160.2, but I binged last night. I don't feel proud, my stomach hurts from it, and the scale reflected my binge. I'm thankful that I have a loss, but kicking myself for binging because I know it could've been so much better.

I'll bet you are both nervous and excited. I'm sure that you are going to find your mobility so much better! Smart move on that N95 mask, don't take any chances.

@Cornanda describing yourself, you have described a younger me, my daughter today anda very good friend who are both so dear to me. I'm sure we would be friends:)

@katmary71 I think we are quite often on the same time in the evening. Your Christmas party sounds fun!

I have tracked so far today, went to a spin class for the first time in ages and am doing an agility class. So far so good:)

Just because I haven't put up a picture of m my 2 little goobers in awhile. This is them trying to stay in place and not jump all over the cable guy😅

@TeresaW2024 - OK loud lady, we are already friends!

@Katmary71 -Yes, that's a thing I've been thinking about, I could speak up more. When I speak up, it's to ask questions, as you said, and that just invites more talking for the other person. It's something I'm reflecting on and working on- if you have insights going forward, please share.

@trooworld - Idk if I will get on tomorrow, so all my best wishes for your surgery and recovery!

@FuskiaKat Merry Christmas! Oh that sounds like an amazing calendar how cool! I love hearing you're enjoying your trike. Merry Christmas!

@trooworld That's an awesome total loss for the week, wow! Just wait until January I think you'll be dropping some big drops then too. I think my brother is going to order your coffee delivery service for my Dad, I was telling him about it and sent him the link yesterday. Oh no I'm so sorry to hear about the awful migraine! Do they ever happen with the weather? Just thinking of the storm about to come in. I second TeresaW2024 please let us know how you're doing when you can after surgery either by coming on here or shooting me a text, we'll all be praying for you!

@TeresaW2024 Oh my goodness hope you had a relaxing day aside of the barking. I'm excited to hear what Joe is getting you for Christmas!

@lisalisa123 Wow I read what you wrote before looking at the weigh-in, it was a great one! I hope you're feeling better soon.

@DrewsAnna Hugs I hate that I'm sorry for the rough night.

@laurelfit57 Great job tracking and getting the exercise in! Aw we always want goober pics! Those two look like they've always been together I love how close they are.

@Cornanda You described it perfectly if every time you talk it's asking more questions then you never get to talk about what's going on with you. I usually try to flesh out situations to know as much as I can to be supportive. My ex-boyfriend would say he talks so much because I make him feel safe and supported, kind of a compliment but not. One of the steps to being more social was joining MFP and jumping in instead of being a wallflower, funny but posting in this group has helped me a lot.

Hi friends! Long day, I went to the greenhouse to water and harvest our microgreens and bring them to the farm. I brought a plate of cookies too and stayed for a bit but it was too cold for me. I dropped off some small wrapped canvasses that were donated to the charity that I still had in my trunk to a children's receiving home. My rheumatology appointment went well but I need my primary to order tests and I don't have an appointment so this will drag out but have bone scans, a skin biopsy, and x-rays in the works. I need to get some stuff done for what I'm making tomorrow, have the greenhouse in the morning then the work party tomorrow night. I found this keto cocktail sauce hope it works out! This blog has good low carb/keto recipes btw. https://kalynskitchen.com/shrimp-cocktail-recipe-with-low-sugar/ Have a great Thursday!

@TeresaW2024 Yes, it would ruin everything! And the surgery would be scheduled for 2025 and my deductable would start over which would be very bad. I think I'll be able to come on either Sunday or Monday. Thank you for the good thoughts, prayers, and good vibes, I need them all! LOL Thank you. My head is a little wonky this morning but not too bad. I can just see Maggie barking at the trash truck. If Violet could see it, she would run and hide and maybe bark lol. And Violet would definitely bark at Sam's and Walmart. ;) Daisy not so much, she sleeps most of the day. Wow, another potluck! Good idea to stick to your basics.

@Lislisa123 Great job. I hope you are feeling better.

@DrewsAnna Way to go for the loss. I'm sorry about the binge.

@laurelfit57 I am both! lol I hope so, it really sucks for my husband to go on these adventures at the zoo and walking through the city and I can't go. :( Good job with the tracking. How's Ty doing with the agility? OMG Ty's ear!!! LOL That's a great pic.

    @Cornanda Thank you!

@Katmary71 Yeah I think so. I love that coffee delivery service (although we have only gotten one order so far. I put it on pause until after I can have caffeinated beverages again!). I hope your Dad likes it. Yes, often, my migraines are caused by wonky weather. I will let you guys know one way or the other! Thank you! Wow, you are going through a lot of stuff. I hope all the tests go well. Thank you for the link, I will have to eat low/no sugar after my surgery so this will come in handy.

Hi all. I've found if I don't walk up and down the stairs at my condo complex (outside), my knee hurts less for the day. What I do instead is walk in the dirt beside the stairs. Of course, I risk slipping and falling but I'll take that chance for less pain. Tomorrow is the day. I made a checklist of things to pack for my overnight stay at the hospital. As of yesterday, I've lost 6.4 lbs on the liquid diet since 12/11 but I actually started it on 12/10 so it's probably more like 7-9 lbs lost. I need to start taking my measurements. A friend from my hometown made me a beautiful needlepoint piece of one of my pugs, it's fabulous and was very thoughtful.

@Cornanda Well, heck yeah we are!!! <3:D

@Katmary71 I hope you can get the doctor’s appointment faster than you expect. Kalyns Kitchen is a great website for low-carb recipes! I hope you have fun at the Christmas party.

@trooworld I’m excited and nervous for you! Please make sure you get some good before pics of yourself and take those measurements! You will want to celebrate all your progress and show off those before/after pics when you reach your goal weight. :)

Good morning! Joe and I will attempt to have a good day out of the house today. He is excited, so I’m just praying that he has no dizziness and has fun. After reading about all the benefits, I’ve wanted a vibration plate for a long time, so last night, I pulled the trigger and ordered one for Christmas. I hope I can get Joe on it, as it will help him balance and flexibility. OK, I gotta get this day started! You all have a good day, too. :)
