Yesterday ended up being busier than planned, but worth it. I made up a HUGE pot of broccoli potato soup (some of which is probably going to the neighbor's), some sheetpan chicken and veg for Dad, some barbeque chicken, and a chocolate cake. I ended up using chocolate hummus for the frosting and it worked wonderfully! I also kept working on redecorating my room, moving around the bed and cleaning out some stuff, and took the dogs for two 20-minute walks. By the end of the day, I was absolutely wrecked, but thrilled that I got to sleep on my bed for the first time in weeks.
Today, I let myself sleep in and did a gentle yoga practice when I woke up. I'm aiming to do a few chores and maybe some tidying in my room, but I'm determined to listen to my body and take it easy today. My friend is coming over for tea and cake later, then we'll be going to a Christmas party at a mutual friends' house, so I'm excited about that. But, overall, I'm just aiming to relax and unwind today6 -

So a friend of mine got me a new watch for christmas, its a garmin, and ive always had a fitbit. He gave it to me Wednesday, and I don't think it's as sensative as my fitbit. Maybe I did just sit alot yesterday, but I never get under 3k steps. But I am sick, and I spent a lot of time crocheting christmas gifts and wrapping gifts and driving my kids to and from work ect, so maybe they are that low, ha.5 -
@Krysless2 Missing your steps for the 14th.
@angmarie28 I recently went from Fitbit to a different watch and also noticed less steps in some situations. I think Fitbit is just a lot more sensitive/generous and your Garmin is likely more accurate. Hope you feel better soon.4 -

Christmas chaos is here ! Thanks all ,I enjoyed my Spa Day.This week has been a busy one,not having a car at this time of year can be frustrating.The traffic is bad & I waited an hour for a bus into town.I know I should have walked but it was wet & cold.I got a small artificial 4ft tree,it wasn't heavy but awkward to carry.I think I should have gone to the Doctors for my tonsillitis as I've now started with a stinking cold 😩

Ran 3+ miles on the treadmill, and went for a 30 walk. We made some adjustments to my medication a couple days ago, and I think I'm already starting to feel better. I'm not as exhausted at least. I'm really hoping for some positive results from this dosage.
I'm trying to get my food back on track. Christmas doesn't even have much to do with it for me, it's just a convenient excuse at the moment.4 -

Reading everyone's posts and it seems everyone is struggling a bit, whether you have big holiday celebrations or not. Mine have certainly changed in recent years. Work parties have changed since COVID and aren't as much fun, I'm at the age where friends are retiring and moving away, my son is in the middle of a cross country move so he won't be here, so there's no huge overeating events for me this year. We're just having a semi quiet holiday with the grandkids. Well, as quiet as it can be with a 2 year old and a 6 year old. 😂

Week 3 Weigh-in!

Feeling really pleased with my progress this week! The Christmas party was really fun. We played some games and watched a very silly movie. I had eaten before I went and didn't feel hungry, but was a bit peckish when I got home, so I had some apple slices and hot tea.
Today, we're putting up some decorations and I'm going to keep working on my room. I'm aiming to take my dogs for a long walk, but I mostly just want to enjoy the weekend with my dad, so if it doesn't happen that's okay too6 -

Shape Shifters, I know this time of year it is hard to resist all the food temptations and navigate the social events. I just wanted to say I am proud of everyone who is managing to keep losing weight, but I am also proud of everyone who reports a gain. It is not easy to keep showing up when things are not going as well as you would like so kudos. This is all temporary! We are almost into a new year which often gives us new energy and motivation as well. So don't be too upset with yourself please. We've got this!

I think I'm trying to out run a bad diet. It's not working, but at least I'm getting some activity.
I was up most of the night with my sick son. My husband is also sick. I'm sure my other son and I are next, so I'm not sure what the next few days are going to look like.
Luckily our extended family Christmas isn't until Saturday, so we have a few more days to recover. Hoping we'll all be better by then.
