WEIGH IN UPDATE
WEIGH IN DUE NOW FROM @littlebabekitty
Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To @AmbersWay @askewcr0 -
@Cornanda Let us know how the diet is going I don't know much about that one (looking at the website now). The photos of the meals look amazing on the website! I did like how the book was written to see how it could be possible without a bad guy or girl. Let us know if you enjoy The Wedding People I haven't read that one.
@TeresaW2024 Thank you, will do! I have some mushroom pictures I'll share at the end of my post. Congratulations on buying the house yay! I'm glad to hear Kayla is in the house now and is expressing her gratitude and I'm so glad her ex-boyfriend is out of the picture. Hope the groomer and errands went well! Thanks yes it did help last night especially when it dawned on me my headache was from my tooth. I'm sorry to hear about the woman who recently passed away, we definitely look different without head and facial hair! I hope you got everything done today you were hoping to. Oh no I'm sorry to hear Maggie is holding her leg up I hope it's temporary and she's okay.
@trooworld My guess would be Greek coffee is similar to it too. I was planning to build garden beds in my yard and phase out my fabric pots, I'll keep looking for more wood. That Chile Colorado recipe looks so good! I liked your response on the question as I hadn't realized how much I had ignored protein before logging. Oh no that traffic sounds awful! That dinner sounds so good I hope it made up for the struggle getting home. Congratulations on the promotion!
WHAT'S ONE THING YOU'VE LEARNED ABOUT YOUR EATING HABITS FROM TRACKING YOUR MEALS? So many things, definitely that I eat more calories than I think! And how packaged or restaurant food has so much sugar and salt.
@micaroo4 How is Rich doing? Sounds like the varicose veins are the culprit I hope he's doing better today.
@vegan4lyfe2012 I'd look into ordering the fertilizer or if you didn't want the exact aerogarden one find a hydroponic (or a liquid one like Superthrive) one with the same or almost similar ratio. I'm on Amazon looking up hydroponic fertilizers as I only used the old 1 type of fertilzer with my Aerogarden. The Aerogarden two pack isn't too expensive, another way to go is it looks like Humbolts Secret and Vivosun Liquid are pretty similar but I'd compare the stats on the bottles to one another as I'm not sure what ratios indoors in a hydroponic situation are best. It DOES look like other companies are trying to dupe it and if it's something I'll use a lot I'd rather buy a bulk size of fertilizer. Amelia is so beautiful as is Sophie!
@FushiaKat Oh no I'm so sorry to hear about your trike! I hope it's something that can be fixed or that the company will replace it, the customer service sounds real frustrating.
@Lisalisa123 Congratulations on being back in the 270s that's one awesome weigh-in too!
@DrewsAnna Enjoy the beautiful day outside! Oh that birthday is soon I hope you're able to finish the blanket in time to mail it. I'm sure she'll love it.
Hi team! I had a slow morning, worked out and read then met a friend at a local mall that's closing soon. It was weird the stuff at Macys wasn't the real nice stuff that was normally there I think it's more of the liquidator that's helping to close the store but I did get a purse for 60% off.
I'm attaching some mushroom pics the first one is from the Lion's Mane kit I got for Christmas that is on it's 3rd flush (there's a nail mark in it as I bumped into it) then turkey tail mushrooms that I found on a stump in my yard AFTER I just bought a small bag of them for $15 (they're good for immunity), then the mushroom bags that I just added my grain with mycelium into wood chips and the grain looks like cottonballs now. Have a great Thursday!

@Katmary71 - Rich is doing fine, no further bleeding. He went to work yesterday. We bought a bunch of gauze and pads and paper tape and wraps, so if we have another blood vessel burst, we are prepared to control it better. Although most likely I would still call 911 if it happened again.

@trooworld - congrats on the promotion! That's awesome!
@micaroo4- I'm glad Rich is better and hope he talks to his doctor
@lislisa123 - Congrats! That's also awesome!
@Katmary71 - Who knew mushrooms could be so beautiful? I really admire your green thumb.
Prepping to start Mayo tomorrow- No sugar or alcohol for two weeks. It's called the "lose it" phase. I feel like I didn't buy any meat this week. I bought a boatload of produce. I'm not sure there will be enough leftovers around for the fam. But whatever- I can pick something up if I need to. I pulled up my meal plan for the week, swapped out recipes that I didn't like, I was able to enter that lunch/breakfast will be just me and dinner will be three people and it made me a grocery list. Pretty cool. It seems some recipes are for people who don't like to cook- Kale salad kit, pick up vegetable soup at the deli.....

@TeresaW2024 It is, thank you! That's a good idea about the toaster pastries. I've made my own chaffles before. I am so-so about them. And...they always stick in my mini waffle maker, so it's kind of a pain. I may have to try your version, though, that sounds good! I'm sorry about Maggie. Poor little pup. I hope it's not expensive to fix what is wrong. We have to take Daisy to the vet tonight and I am afraid of the bill.
@lislisa123 What a great NSV! Congrats!
@Katmary71 I love strong coffee like the Greek coffee and the Ethiopian coffee. I bet I'd love Armenian coffee! I hope you find the wood you need. The Chile Colorado recipe is really good and it can be on the healthy side if you do like I did and use pork tenderloin or some other lean cut of meat. Yeah, I wonder if I would have been more successful at my prior attempts to lose weight had I paid more attention to protein? The traffic WAS awful and it's been bad all week, for some reason. Dinner did make up for it! Thank you! Congrats on scoring a purse for 60% off. Wow, those are some impressive mushrooms! Are you going to cook with these mushrooms or make tea?
@Cornanda Thank you! I can't have alcohol for a year and I thought it would be harder than it has been: I haven't had any and I don't really miss it too much. I look forward to hearing more about your experiences with the Mayo Clinic Diet.
Hi all. I didn't sleep well last night, I woke up at 3:30 am and just stayed up. Hopefully, I'll sleep better tonight. I'm going to walk on my morning and afternoon breaks at work today. I hope I make it a priority to take those breaks, usually, I just skip them.

My phrase for the year: "A new era of me."1 -
@micaroo4 I would insist that Rich talk to his primary sooner rather than later. If he was to have a vein rupture while sleeping, it could be terrible. My sister had a couple of bad scares, and that is what made her to a vein specialist.
@Katmary71 I remember when our Macy’s closed. I got a ton of good stuff from there! Those mushrooms are cool. Do you kinda feel like a mad scientist?
@Cornanda, I hope your diet new goes well. I gave up sugar and alcohol in January. I’ve had a bit of sugar in the last week and will go to a brewery for my birthday next week, but I plan to give up both again for Lent. We can do it!!
@trooworld Ugh, I hate it when I wake up that early. At least you know you will sleep well tonight. That is a great plan to walk on your breaks. How has the knee been?
Good morning! We found out that the new house had an entire home security system already installed, and all we had to do was update some equipment and pay $50 a month for a whole house monitor, including fire monitoring. Such a great piece of mind for my niece! Today, I’m going to lunch with my bestie. She wants to celebrate my birthday, which is on Sunday. I will be 59 and feel the need more than ever to get fit and healthy. I want to be an active old lady out doing things and living my best life.
2 -
@TeresaW2024 - the one thing I've learned; when it comes to Rich and his medical conditions, I can't make him do anything he doesn't want to do. He has an appointment with his primary in early May, and he has no intention of going any sooner. That's just the way he is. I can suggest or recommend, but he will go his own way no matter what I say, so I don't belabor the point.

WEIGH INS DUE NOW FROM THE FOLLOWING: @littlebabekitty @AmbersWay @askewcr
Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To @Cornanda @davors19 @bethanie0825 @trooworld @Katmary711 -
Good morning everybody!! I ended up going to the doctor yesterday. I was and still am in so much pain. The doctor sent me to get X-rays. According to the app the results are two cracked ribs, a tilted spine and a partially collapsed lung issue. The doctor said it’s not a collapsed it’s just that there’s scarring from a previous illness.0
-
@micaroo4 I'm glad to hear Rich is doing fine, having those supplies is smart!
@Cornanda Thank you! I'm excited for you to start this plan you sound very prepared!
@trooworld I like strong coffee too I'll have to try Ethiopian. I think you WOULD like it, I ordered it from Serg Tankian's (System of a Down singer) coffee company, here's the link if you're curious: https://kavatcoffee.com/collections/our-coffees It's interesting reading about your chaffles I wanted to get a small waffle maker for them. Prayers Daisy's appointment goes well. I honestly think you WOULD have had better luck with more protein, I was eating next to none and eating a lot of vegetarian meals and I was feeling faint all the time. I may have had 20 grams a day at most then. Especially with workouts the additional protein made a huge difference I wasn't as tired and weak. Thanks! You know me well the turkey tail and most of the Lion's Mane is going in teas (just made an orange peel green tea with cloves to help my tooth pain, frozen cranberries, ginger root, tumeric root, and cinnamon sticks and that was better than I expected. I want to make a Lion's Mane mushroom risotto with this Lion's Mane growing now. Not sure with all the bags I think it would be fun to take them for other farm volunteers to eat too but in what I'm not sure. Do you have any ideas?
@TeresaW2024 Ha I DO, my SIL is saying I'm a witch whipping up potions which I'm guessing she means as a compliment but to me it's stuff we used to know that I'm learning. I'm so excited the mushroom growing is going well I was worried I'd screw it up. That''s awesome about the security system! Happy early birthday!
Hi friends! I woke up at 4AM and was in the greenhouse a little after 6, got all the chives and bok choy started and thinned the basil. I rented a second bed at the community garden and spent some time filling it with dirt the garden club donated to it. All the wheelbarrows were a bit wonky and I'm insanely tired but it's mostly full, I took some stuff to add to the dirt in the hopes if I got the microbes going and started early I wouldn't have the dreaded horrible first year raised garden bed that does poorly. The pile is about 2 blocks from the beds so I totally wiped myself out! The head of the garden is planning to move it all with a tractor but the day was so nice I got out there and started. I was added as Admin to the Northern CA CRPS group, kind of watching to see what I need to do. Have a great Friday team!1 -
@teresaw2024 - I forgot you yesterday-
I hope Maggie is OK. That's great about the security system.
@trooworld - I hope Daisy and your wallet are OK.
@19shmoo69 - Goodness! Get better soon! And please pop in here once in awhile and post about coffee. You are missed.

@TeresaW2024 Me too! I did sleep pretty well last night. The knee has been good, thanks for asking! Oh that's great that the new house has a security system already. I hope you had fun with your bestie. That's a good reason to get healthy!
@19shmoo69 Did I miss something? Did you get in an accident? I'm sorry all that is going on and you are in pain.
@Katmary71 Thank you for the link. I may have to order some of that. The designs on the bags are really cool! Yeah, I don't know if I didn't oil it enough or what, but mine stick half the time. Thank you, Daisy is doing better (see below). Yeah I agree, I would have done better. Oh well! Too late now lol. That sounds like a lot of work (the greenhouse stuff). I love this Hungarian Mushroom Soup: https://damndelicious.net/2024/02/09/hungarian-mushroom-soup/ Here are some other recipes to use up your mushrooms:

@Cornanda Thank you. It wasn't bad, $160, and Daisy is MUCH better! Yes, the things we do!
Hi all. I went for a walk on my morning break but when it came afternoon, I got really busy and couldn't take a break. But at least I took a morning break and walked. We had to take Daisy, one of our dogs, to the vet last night. She has chronic rhinitis and was having a flare-up. They gave her a steroid shot and she's much better now, which is such a relief. I lost 1.4 lbs this week. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed it wasn't more considering I was more active. Oh well. A loss is good!

@micaroo4 Well you can’t always make a man use common sense. I have that same issue with my man from time to time. Good thing you stocked up on the gauze!
@19shmoo69 Oh my goodness! Did I miss that you had an accident? I will be praying for you!
@Your day of gardening was a great workout, and I bet you were exhausted when you were done. It is cool that you were made an admin. Hopefully, it won’t prove to be a headache for you.
@Cornanda I forgive you for forgetting me…this time!We are watching Maggie. It is the leg that had surgery so that is disturbing. I will probably have to do something, but for now, we are just trying to keep her from running and jumping, which is proving very difficult.
@trooworld Poor Daisy! Losing 1.4 is awesome!! Thanks for the recipes. Those look good. We love mushrooms!
Good morning! I had a great early birthday lunch with my bestie yesterday. She gave me a gorgeous pair of earrings and this beautiful tray that her husband made. I have a few of his pieces, and I’m thrilled with this one. I can’t believe we are already at the end of the month. I didn’t do as well in losing weight this month, but with all the stress over the house, I am just happy I didn’t gain anything. I plan to really buckle down this month, and on March 5, when Lent starts, I will do another 40 days of no sugar/no alcohol. I will also try to cut more carbs out of my diet and increase my workouts. I want to lose at least another 10 lb before Easter.

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What are you most proud of?0 -
@19shmoo69 Hey Darren what the heck happened (missed your post)? My gosh that sounds awful were you in an accident?
@trooworld You're welcome, if you order the coffee let me know what you think. Thank you for all the recipes! Thank you thank you for all the awesome recipes, they're all on my mushroom pinterest board now. I definitely need to try some of those! I'm so glad the shot helped Daisy so fast. That's still a great loss I know you've been getting pretty large drops where it may not seem like much but it definitely is awesome.
@TeresaW2024 Thank you. I'm so glad you had a great birthday lunch, that tray is gorgeous! This month went by fast I think you've handled the month wonderfully. Those are great goals!
@askewcr That's ok. Go get it!
WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF? How I've handled my CRPS relapsing and not crawling back into bed to hide.Hi team! I think I'll respond in the Feb thread then come to March tomorrow. I planned to go to the farm but had some errands to run so did that instead. Got in some gardening mostly to harvest greens for dinner, my roommate made teriyaki chicken and aside of the sauce everything else was real healthy. I went to the community garden to meet some others there, I brought home a sign to spray and needed help getting it back up. Tomorrow's the garden club then I'm planning to repot some tomatoes into bigger cups. Have a great Saturday.1 -

Good Morning 🌞
Phew it’s been a hot minute since jumping on the board. Brain has been in overdrive with work and trying to get through my to-do list before the next class starts this month. My diabetic pup is doing good. Still unpredictable with the sugar but she’s got so much going on in her almost 15 year old little body of hers. She’s still so happy through it all. Looking forward to the spring weather that should be around the corner. Plan on doing some early spring cleaning. I made it to aqua last week and Zumba this past week which was good.
Hope everyone is well! Can’t believe we are in March already!

@TeresaW2024 - Hope Maggie will be OK with some leg rest. We had to do that with our previous dog when he hurt his back. It involved putting laundry baskets and other items on all his favorite seats- which is not convenient at all. I don't know how you stop a dog from running. I wish you the best. And here's to buckling down again for March- I'm with you. That tray is gorgeous!
@katmary71- will you come to FL and repot all my house plants? Please?
@gemwolf-Good to see you, thanks for the update!
A little work news- my little team is being moved to a different department with different leadership. We will continue with our same manager. 1 team member is being left in the old department. So, they are breaking up the band! We all get along quite well, so this has caused some anxiety this week. Overall, I think it will turn out well. By the end of Monday we'll all know where we are going and then they can plan for the actual transition.
What am I most proud of? I'm very proud of my marriage and my family. It takes a lot of work and honesty to keep things working this well.
Lisa2 -
@TeresaW2024 Yeah, she's been miserable. Thank you! I love mushrooms, too.I'm glad you had a nice early birthday lunch. That tray is amazingly beautiful, I can't believe he made that! I know you will do better in March. You got this!
@askewcr @bethanie0825 Congrats on the losses!
@Katmary71 Okay, I will. You are welcome, you know I love sharing my recipes! LOL She's starting to be snotty again, so we may have to go back and get this stuff we squirt in her nose. The vet said the shot can take up to 2 weeks to fully take effect. Thank you! How is your roommate now? Better? Teriyaki chicken sounds yummy.
@gemwolf110 How much longer do you have in school? Good to hear from you.
@Cornanda I hate change at work. I hope you guys fare okay and can get readjusted. Marriage and family does take a lot of work and honesty.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of working really hard on my education and obtaining a master's degree. It was a lot of hard work and at times, I didn't think I'd make it through the program! It was the best thing I've ever done for myself. Without my master's, I would not have gotten my dream job!
Hello all. I took a half day off yesterday to celebrate my promotion as well as run errands. My husband and I went down to Little Italy and had some appetizers and drinks (I had a glass of wine, non-alcoholic sparkling rose). I'm not supposed to drink anything "sparkling" yet but I did and I had some mild discomfort, but overall, I was fine. A NSV: About a month before my surgery, I bought a pair of these trendy satin pants that almost look like a pair of parachute pants from the 80s. I couldn't fit them but I held onto them because I knew someday I would be able to. Well, I wore them last night! Here are a couple of pictures from last night, my husband and I and one of the appetizers (meatballs with goat cheese). Also, a "Before and During" photo of my face. Today, we are going to go to the zoo and walk around. I haven't been in about 10 months because of my knee. We'll see how it does today.

@19shmoo69 - I just scrolled back to find when you reported having a fall on the ice. You've been in pain for a while now; I hope things are getting better. Hugs!
-Mica0 -
A week and a day ago I went out to warm my car before leaving for work. It was dark and I thought I was walking around the ice but I was actually walking towards it. The slip and fall happened so quick I don’t even remember slipping or losing my balance. I was up and then instantly down in huge amounts of pain. I couldn’t stand I had to crawl to the door. I was trying to be quiet but I guess I wasn’t as my daughter was up and my wife was running down the hallway. I let them know I didn’t want to go to the hospital but I guess I should’ve gone. Fast forward to Tuesday I felt ok. I bent over to clothes dog cage and heard and felt a loud pop. Wednesday I was in massive amounts of pain so I went to the doctor. She wanted X-rays. That’s where my last post takes over I think.
I have to sleep in a recliner as i cannot lay down without even more pain. I tried laying down yesterday and it was so bad that even my tshirt touching my ribs caused pain. Now all my friends are updated. Have a blessed day.3 -
@gemwolf110 I'm glad your pup is managing to stay happy, I hope her sugar stabilizes. I'm ready for spring too we got a little taste of it but it's going back to rain tomorrow. Great job getting in the workouts!
@Cornanda Send me a plane ticket and I'd be happy to repot your houseplants! Yikes I hope you'll be happy with the work team changes.
@trooworld My roommate actually got over the flu fast takiing my holy basil tincture and fermented garlic honey, pretty cool we both were better in two days using it. I've decided to make Lion's Mane mushroom risotto with the Lion's Mane I just harvested then will use one of your recipes when I take something to the farm in a few weeks. Thanks again! Love you having your dream job I'm glad you made it through the master's program! Yay on rocking those pants, it looks like you two had a wonderful time! You can definitely see a big difference in your before and after photos, you're doing amazing. Hope the zoo went well today!
@19shmoo69 Yikes that sounds like a terrible fall. Oh no that hyperensitive pain from a shirt is awful I hope your ribs recover fast and you're doing better soon.
Hi team! Been worn out today and just realized my pain's worse from the storm coming in, crazy when today's been so pretty. The garden club had a speaker who talked about how she started her flower farm then there was a permiculture demonstration at the community garden, I ended up leaving early. Did some cleaning and stretching and took a bath and now my roommate and I are watching Yellowstone again (we're reading for Peacock to drop the last four episodes in 2 weeks!). Have a great Sunday.1
