March Goals: Work out 4 times per week: Do one 4 Mile Walk per week: Garmin Challenges for March-30 miles of walking activity, 300,000 steps and 3 mile weekend walk 3/21-23. I am logging regularly now, so I am dropping that as a goal.

I am trying to increase my steps and be more active as it seems to be really helping my energy levels, probably because it is raising my hemoglobin levels as well. I know that 300,000 steps is probably not reasonable, but the closer I get to it the better. I have another blood test in April and I want everything back to normal.
I am anxious to hear all of your March goals!!!

    March Goals

    Miles Tracked: 65 miles
AW challenge: Complete 5 workouts of 5 or more minutes. ✅ ✅

Well I'm nearly half way to my Apple Watch Goal. lol
This morning I dug around and found Walk Party from 2019 on Youtube. This started with Nick and other walk leaders taking turns leading the walk. No Leslie. This was the start of the 2019 New Year walk challenge. A short 15 minutes had me move a lot! I followed that up with a 10 minute Arm routine from Fit by Mik.

I'm working today. I have one fresh computer to build, and another client is dropping off computers for a migration this afternoon. It's always exciting when someone gets a new computer. February was a busy month for work, but right now, March is wide open. Ry needs a break, so I'm hoping March will still bring in steady work, just the lower-tiered stuff I can do. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My March goals are very similar to @zichab since i use the Garmin to get me going. So here they are:
30 miles walking (really to see how fast i can get this one.)
    20 activities over 20 minutes
    300,000 steps
Find outside training path for Fife Lake 5k
Intentional movement 5 to 6 days a week

Yeah, @deeder522 I think the Walk Party was really the defining change and moving away from Leslie. Always assumed age related. I hope Ry is able to get the rest he needs.

Well, I am off to a great start as I already have 11, 000 steps in LOL! How I will manage this every day I have no clue, but that is why it is called a Challenge right?
@Deeder522 I am one of those weird people who HATE a new computer. I bought a new MacBookPro in 2020 and it is still in the box!!! My kids constantly make fun of me. I spilled wine on this one and it went blooey, so I thought I killed it. I went to the Apple store and bought a new one, but as soon as I fired this one back up, it was working again and has been doing great ever since. My only issue is that is it at the end of it OS upgrade life, but new ones just mean more things that work now won't with the upgrade. I need to do it though to see if it can play my DVDs on the "new" one and if not, I need to save this one because Dennis and I depend on it for our workouts. Computer migrations are the bane of my existence, which I clearly know is a first world problem! MEH!
megd44-It is hard to do some of those Garmin Challenges when everything is covered in snow! I am hoping that I can walk outdoors by 3/21, but there is no guarantee that that the back roads I live on will be bare of snow then. I'd love to do that Appalachian Trail challenge, but it will take forever to get 4.9 million steps, so I am starting with the Chilkoot Trail challenge!! I can finish that one before I am 90!
We got about 3 inches of snow last night and it is going to be -30F windchill tonight and early tomorrow. March up here can be just like February, snowy and very cold or more like April where things usually melt and the ice goes out. It looks like we are in for a February type of March with ice out waiting until April! I'm OK with that, but not DST!!! :grumble:
I'll be back tomorrow when I am going to attempt my first 4 mile walk in over 3 years! Fingers crossed!

Sun is out today and that makes me super happy. The forecast makes it look like once we get through this week, the worst of winter will be over. Fingers crossed on that because it will hopefully mean I can start walking outside mid month.

Yesterday I did 5 Mega miles. After doing this last week, I am making this an every weekend work out. Like the strength pieces and the variety.

Today I did Burn to the Beat. Like the way that one builds.

Oh my goodness! I forgot how sweaty Leslie's 4 Fast Miles workout is!!! To be totally honest, I did not do the boosted parts, but followed Kim who does the fast walking during the boosts as I am not ready for those yet. I am working on endurance before I start getting into intensity. Having said all that, it feels so good to be back into fitness walking again and to feel so much energy. I have missed it and I hope it means that my CBC blood test is back to normal in April!
@megd44-Doing 5 Mega Miles every week is really so good for you as it hits everything!! Endurance, intensity and strength in one workout. I love that one, and once I am back in aerobic shape and have done some less intense 5 mile walks, I really want to get back to that one, even though I know it is a killer!
The sun is also out here, but it is -4F right now and going to -18F tonight :noway:. By Tuesday, we are supposed to get snow in the morning and rain in the afternoon!!!! The weather is all over the place, but in all honesty, it is typical for march.
My next workout is scheduled for Tuesday so I will "see" you all then!

    March Goals (as of 3/3):
    1) Return to my favorite group workout classes at my gym
    2) Fit little walks in, in between, whenever I can
Here's my gym workout class schedule (with extras):
    Mondays: Boot Camp
Tuesdays: Les Mills Body Combat and/or Yoga (either Chair or Gentle Yoga, whichever my schedule allows at the time, or depending on what I feel I need at the time)
Wednesdays: T'ai Chi (Intermediate followed by Fan and Sword)
    Thursdays: Rest Day
Fridays: Step, or go for a walk on my own or do a walking workout online
    Saturdays: Step
Sundays: Go for a walk on my own or do a walking workout online
    Daily Report:
3/1: Walked Dottie (dog) 30 minutes, up/down hills
3/2: Walked Dottie 15 minutes in the cold morning chill
3/3: I went back to Boot Camp (60 minutes) today! Modified as needed, but was also surprised at how well I did
We are in for a wind advisory tomorrow.

Great plan @Elfirose33! And glad to hear boot camp went better than you were expecting.

I did Joey Thurman's lean with bands and a 2 mile easy walk yesterday. Today I did the mix and match warm up, 1st mile of Burn to the Beat, and the mix and match flexibility. All from the app. Perfect for what my body felt like it needed. Movement at an easy pace. Of course I forgot to tell my Garmin no GPS so it didn't track any of my miles for the challenges. But about 4500 steps.

Rainy and dreary here today. Snow is really melting off. Super muddy out there.

Good Morning, friends! After working through the weekend and the computer delivery yesterday I was able to get back in action this morning. 20 minutes with Improved Health followed by 6 minutes of arms with Jessica Smith.

@zichab The old laptop will be fine for just your workouts. Just don't do anything important online as it isn't secure to do things now. Use the new computer for that. There are CD/DVD players you can get that plug into the machines. When your ready we'll talk and I'll get you all setup.

@Elfirose33 Great plan for the week. I also have a Tai Chi program that is waiting for me to start it.

@megd44 Congrats on the 5 miles! Sounds like my weather is like yours just south. I'm looking forward to the weather calming down so I can start my Parks challenge.

    3/1-Just Walk:Walking Off the Pounds-3 miles: Garmin Miles: 6.4

    3/2-WAH: 4 Fast Miles: Garmin Miles: 6.4

    3/3- Garmin Miles: 5.3

3/4- Just Walk: 5 Day Walk Plan-Monday-3 mile Walk: Garmin Miles:

I had to drop the walking challenges on Garmin because I can't set my Vivofit to Walk and it does not record the manually entered ones, so I'll just do the step challenges. Once I finish the shorter ones, I am going for the Appalachian trail!!!! I am not going to buy a fancy new Garmin just to record a walk, especially since I just bought one for Dennis to track his sleep and heart rhythm! ❤️

@Elfirose33 I am so proud of you!!! You got back into your group workouts at the gym quickly!!! Good for you and that is quite a workout schedule! You go!!!!! 👍️

@Deeder522 Awe thanks. You put me wise to the DVD player issue so I will use the old machine for that. I do not do anything on here anymore. Dennis does all the banking and billing on his. I just hold the files for our personal stuff (letters, old work stuff, etc) and workout sites. That is one reason I have not been in a huge hurry to upgrade it. But, with Dennis' heart issues, I need to think about some of the files being transferred to my machine and I have to collect a pension this year, so security will become an bigger issue than it has been. I have everything backed up on 2 external drives though. I learned how important that was when my last machine simply died! The screen turned purple and when blip blip and that was it. DONE! As luck would have it, I was hooked up to the external because I was typing a file I could not afford to lose. WHEW!!!!

This new interface takes a little getting used to! Til Friday! 😉😃

Today 3/4: I did 60 minutes Les Mills Combat. Wow, that was really hard. But I hadn't been to that class for 6 months or so and maybe longer. I came home and took a nap after, lol.

@megd44 Thanks! Me too, that was a surprise. I'm so glad you got some sunshine! 🌞

@Deeder522 Thanks! Very cool that we have Tai Chi in common! 👍️

@zichab Thank you! 💛 I guess it was pretty quick:) Going to try my best. Yeah, I agree, this new interface is different. I like all the new emojis. But I don't see italics, bold, etc., though… I used those a lot. Oh, I just found them! If you select a word or paragraph, they pop up. Such a relief! 😄

Tonight we are getting wind, then rain turning to snow later on, with a blizzard warning. March weather is always so interesting!

Well, I tried to do 2 miles with Leslie but the computer glitched and I got 1 Mile instead. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Then I opted for 10 Min standing Ab routine with Fit by Mik. This is where I discovered I no longer bend in certain ways. 🤣

@Deeder522 You tried and that's all anyone can do! Good job! 💜

I did not go to my Tai Chi class today because I didn't want to get there and then find no one there due to the weather, so I stayed home and shoveled the driveway instead.

    Here's my report:

I shoveled all the snow and ice off the driveway today, 90 minutes straight through because I guess I got into "the zone" 😅 It was windy (25-35 mph) and cold (28 degrees). It was a fantastic workout! I came to look upon it all as a circuit training experience because the upper half of our driveway had become one big snowdrift (with ice underneath) and the other half was mostly solid ice underneath a little bit of frozen snow on top. The snow was heavy and wet and the ice underneath had to be scraped off bit by bit using every kind of muscle. You name it, it was working! …wrists, forearms, calves, glutes, quads, hamstrings, triceps, biceps…the works. Anyway, I had a great time! Mid-way through, the sun came out to help! Bundled up as I was, I never once got cold, even with all that wind. But when I came back inside I was covered in sweat, which is such an accomplishment for me because I'm one of those people who have to work really hard to sweat just a little 😊

@Deeder522 great job shifting in the moment!

Wow @Elfirose33 impressed with the snow/ice mess. That is definitely a big workout!!

Wednesday I did one of Leslie's mix and match blends. Needed a more active rest day. Today I started one of the apps new 5k series. Got into the third mile and it was the lead I really do not like. So I jumped out to one of the Walk Yourself Healthy 1 mile options to close it out. Needed to get a decent amount of steps because I am in meetings, back to back to back and keep going, starting at noon until 5 pm. Really not happy about it and need to do better with not letting that happen. Think I can keep my camera off for a couple so I can stretch and/or walk in place.
