I don't know how to stop eating late at night, short of locking myself in a hotel room.

    Hi 👋

I managed to catch a bug, kept me in bed all day Saturday. Sunday, I got up and felt better as the day went on. Today, I think I'm ready to tackle the day.

The afghan is almost finished and then I just have to weave in the ends. I'm getting really excited to see the finished result.

I'm calling my dr to see if I can get in to talk to him/her.

@AnAbsoluteDiva Its a bit cold to be walking into anywhere buck naked. I'm sure it would teach him a lesson though. haha!

@bobboyardee I feel your pain. Eating at night is my weakness too. I wonder if it's because I stay up so late, that I actually do get hungry by the time bed rolls around.

I mentioned going to the doctor. Before, I was told by a different doctor I was pre-diabetic. My family doctor said I'm no where near that. Someone has their facts mixed up. I think it was the first doctor-did non-fasting labs and read them as fasting. Still working on getting my plantar fasciitis problem solved so exercise isn't so painful. I'd like to think I could do more once it's better.

My doctor also said I might be able to qualify for Wegovy. Has anyone else tried this? I'm interested, but a bit scared at the same time. Apparently this has way less side effects than Ozempic, but still have my concerns-because I like to worry apparently.

@bobboyardee - it's a habit, and habits can be broken! If you had medical tests scheduled for morning that required you to fast, you could do it, right? I promise, no one ever starved to death between dinner and breakfast. It's just a matter of saying that the kitchen is closed for the evening, and then find something to do and keep busy until bedtime. Bonus: you may sleep better if you don't snack after dinner.

@trooworld Thank you! My roommate and I get along great but her daughter's going through a divorce and is in Oklahoma with four young kids so she's moving there to help her out in June. I would do the same thing in her shoes but I will definitely miss her. We both feel like we won the lottery with each other and if she returns to this area we may be roommates again. Oh my gosh Walmart on top of Sam's Club, Ross, and Kohl's would be way too much glad you did delivery, I'm worn out reading all that!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you, my roommate's moving end of May beginning of June. I'm excited for your niece to get all the garden stuff! I hope Joe's appointment went well.

@bobboyardee I'm working on the same thing it's so hard! Honestly the thing over the years that helped me the most was getting Invisilgn since I didn't want to have to reclean my teeth. What has been successful for you before? I DO have better luck if I brush and floss after dinner and only have tea but it's been awhile since I've been in the groove. What about going to your room after you're done eating would that help? If I'm feeling week being in the family room by the kitchen isn't smart for me. There's a group in the forums to stop night eating I've been in where you're posting to each other at night instead of munching, might be worth checking out. Great advice from @micaroo4 there's a reason she's our motivator!

@DrewsAnna I can't wait to see the afghan too do share a pic when it's done! I'm glad you're feeling better hope you had a great Monday.

@sleepygirl79 Oh geez that's ridiculous the physician read you as pre-diabetic when you aren't, sounds like they were rushing through the labs or the lab forgot to note it. I'm glad you DO NOT have pre-diabetes! I hope your plantar fasciitis improves soon. I haven't tried Wegovy but I think a few people in the group have.

Hi team! The last episodes of Yellowstone dropped on Peacock so my roomie and I are watching it right now. Got a lot done this morning I went to the bank, Walmart, and Trader Joe's (got wine for my neighbor's birthday) then got another tray of veggies started to replace ones I lost. Did my workout and got some more cleaning done then made the skinnytaste sweet potato black bean bowls, I have a lot of greens in the yard and it's perfect for that recipe. Going to go back to watching the show have a great Tuesday!

Let's challenge ourselves to log for the rest of the month! The above article has some great tips on logging, I do believe it's worth weighing and logging but also know it can become obsessive so think of what you can commit to and let's give it a go. I'm on LoseIt! too and am heading there now to log my day.

    Quick pop in:

@Katmary71 @TeresaW2024 - of course weighing/measuring food is best, but you can find food guides where you estimate your food size by comparing to objects such as meat serving= a deck of cards.

@AnAbsoluteDiva - I did 5% challenge twice. I'm skipping the spring one. If you have questions, let me know- it's a little confusing at first because they have so many different threads going. Once you get used to it, it makes sense- it's just organized different than this group.

@Katmary71 , I'm sorry you're losing your roommate. I hope you can find someone else you will like as much. Going out into your yard and picking your own greens must be such a good feeling! OK, I’m going to challenge myself to log my meals. I don’t like the app for My Fitness Pal, so I signed up for Lose It yesterday, and so far, so good. I love that I can take pictures of food and record them. I will do the 7-day free trial to decide if it’s worth the subscription. 🙂

@Cornanda , I will be a good girl and dig out my food scale today. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Pun intended!! 🤣

@trooworld Ugh I am so sorry that you are struggling with eating and drinking. Just keep bugging the dietician and your surgeon to determine what is wrong. It’s gotta feel scary not knowing what is causing the discomfort. I type my response in a Google Doc. and bolding it worked for me. I wander why it didn't for you. 🤔

Good morning! I was happy with my loss this week but want to get it up to over 1.5 lbs. a week. So, I’m tracking my food and plan to increase my exercise. Warm weather is coming, and I want to get back into my clothes! Plus, my sister is passing me in her weight loss and that HAS to stop! 😂

  • vegan4lyfe2012

@trooworld – your MIL isn’t going to be staying with you for that entire time, is she? I hope not. It’s so hard when people invade our spaces. Oh man. I hope you get the pain figured out. I’d call the surgeon’s nurse, unless you’re supposed to run everything past the dietician first.

@Katmary71 – Super sucks that you get a good roomie and then she has to leave. I’m sure her daughter will appreciate her help, tho. And I hope she didn’t rearrange any of your things. I was so confused with the “snapped screen” until I realized in my Android phone, it’s a “split screen” :D And thanks for the awesome tip on bolding the names!

@DrewsAnna – Please don’t forget to share a picture of the afghan when it’s done!

I’m so embarrassed to admit it, but I made a terrible mistake last night. It started with movie theater popcorn and Diet Mt. Dew and ended with an Impossible Whopper and fries. I don’t know what came over me. My body has been retaliating ever since. Going to the theater again tonight, but sticking to just plain water. I learned my lesson.

P.S. Novocaine was hilarious and bloody! Made even better with the belly-laughs from others in the theater. Forewarning - there are some really queasy inducing moments. It was a fun ride, so be sure to watch it with someone who loves action and comedy.

This evening’s movie is The Rule of Jenny Pen. I hadn’t heard anything about it, but it’s an IFC film, which is one of my favorite film companies. Plus John Lithgow plays a bully, so that sounds entertaining 😊

Anyway, getting back to my healthy foods…here are my Alfalfa Sprouts! From tiny seeds just 2 days ago to this! I'm thinking another 24 hours and then they'll go into light to start the chlorophyll process 🌱

    Hi 👋

@katmary71 I haven't been on "loseit" in a long time, because I'm still logging here, but I'll give it a go. I need to get better at it.

@sleepygirl79 Wegovy has a lot of side effects, but once your body gets used to it, everything is fine. I recommend working with a medical weightloss clinic and there is a lot of support groups on FB. I'm in Women on Wegovy.

Well, yesterday started out a normal day at first. I totally forgot about it being St Patrick's day, so I had to make a mad dash too the store to get some carrots. Thankfully, I already had the corned beef. I forgot I had an appt for the pest service guys to come and treat my home, for our bi-annual service. I swear it was built on a giant ant nest. Then there was a couple more mishaps. I'm telling y'all I think i left my brain in bed, yesterday.

I rejoined the 5% challenge group. I hope I'll stay with it this time.

I went and got a blood draw this morning, but I didn't get the one to check for Vitamin D deficiency. My insurance doesn't cover it and I can't afford.

I will definitely post pictures once I'm finished with the afghan for y'all to see.

Since I lost so much weight I have to do a new sleep study at home. I picked up the equipment today and I will do the study to night then return the equipment tomorrow. I will need to sleep in the living room because I'm sure I will be snoring and gasping for breath.

My new Trike is Purple too! It's working great, I have just over a hundred miles on it.

I sprayed the yard with weed killer yesterday and today. We have a big yard it was a lot of work. I think I will go for a bike ride after lunch its nice weather if I wear a jacket.

@19shmoo69 No worries! I have you down for 236 last week, did you lose a lb or stay the same?

@Cornanda I don’t care to weigh all the time but I think when recommitting or if you’ve never done it before it’s worth doing, something like “a slice of bread” is so different in actuality when you weigh it especially sourdough! I remember the hand servings haven’t heard that for awhile good reminder thank you.

@trooworld Thanks! Oh no I’m sorry to hear about how you’re feeling. It sounds like upper GI to me too I’ve had my gallbladder out and had pancreas issues a few times. I think since you had surgery and it really hasn’t been that long seeing the doctor is smart. I wouldn’t want to eat or drink anything either! I hope when you read this you’re feeling a little better, worried about you.

@TeresaW2024 Thank you. It is a great feeling though a little overwhelming. Great I’m glad you’re enjoying LoseIt! My email is katmary71@gmail.com if you’d like to send me a FR there though I haven’t been that great about posting much there. LOL you’re doing great with your weight loss don’t compare to your sis!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Yes I’m referring to my laptop screen, I usually reply on the laptop and regular computers you can do the snapped screen (actually learned it when I took an Office applications class and am surprised I hadn’t learned it before. When I work out and reply on here I snap two screens but if doing multiple workout videos I’ll do 4 screens. Hugs don’t beat yourself up, sadly the carbs and fat and sweetness of the drink probably set you off (I love popcorn though it’s easy to binge and so much better with butter). I haven’t heard of any of these movies enjoy the theater tonight! I love your nails, your sprouts look great, congratulations! You’re officially a sprouter!

@DrewsAnna My user name there is the same as here @gmail.com, we’re friends there right? I haven’t been that great at interacting in the last few months there but am trying to do better. Oh no that ant nest and the pest service guys sounds wild! I had Comcast out dealing with the conduit under the street and they disturbed a wasp nest and we all got stung, I get the craziness of things like that! Hm with Vitamin D I responded within 4-5 days so hopefully if you try increasing it you’ll feel a difference fast.

@FushiaKat Woohoo glad to hear about the new trike! Good luck with the sleep study. Enjoy your afternoon ride!

Hi team! Coming on early, I have (last minute) class tonight with the woman I was working for. She’s in trouble with her husband for not working enough to pay me right now so I haven’t worked the last two weeks with her. It’s a micro current class or I’d skip it, I really dislike not knowing about a class until the evening before but I want the knowledge so I’m going. Got in a good workout and transplanted some tomatoes, I’m going to start more herbs after I post this. Have a great Wednesday!

@vegan4lyfe2012 I would challenge you not to call your Whopper and fries a mistake because that makes it sound like you didn’t mean for it to happen. You purchased the food, picked it up, and ate it. If we don’t own what we do, we really can’t take control of our behavior. And once you take ownership, you forgive yourself and move on, which is precisely what you are doing!💗 I’m glad you liked the movie Novocaine, and hope the new one is just as good. What fun growing your own Alfalfa Sprouts!

@Katmary71 I sent you a friend request! 😉The tracking is much easier on LoseIt, so I may stick with it. I’m not really comparing myself to my sister since she is already 30 lbs lighter, but the day will come when my weight will match hers! I hope you learned a lot in the micro current class. I saw a video where this lady and her son picked these disgusting green bugs off their tomato plants. Do you have to do that too? Bugs are the main reason I would make a terrible gardener. 😬

@trooworld I’m glad you are going to see your surgeon and hopefully he can get to the bottom of what is wrong and help you feel better. You shouldnt have to be in fear of something drastic happening. 💜

Good morning! Yesterday, I did a full chest and back workout and feel sore this morning. Today is leg day, so I will be able to balance the pain. 😂 I’m deep into this season’s Love is Blind, which is so trashy, but I love it! I will watch it later and try to finish my latest puzzle, which is down to all these pieces that look the same. I’m tracking my food and will try to stay within my calorie goal, but today’s dinner is baked tacos with Spanish rice and refried beans. The rest of the week, will be much less exciting and definitely less calories. 😀

@Cornanda Thanks! I'll let you know if I get confused with the 5%.

@bobboyardee Treat the nighttime as your morning and your morning as your nighttime. This idea that we can't eat past a certain hour makes no sense to me. If your body is fasted for ten hours or whatever, it doesn't know if it's daytime or not. If it makes you feel any better, remember that 10 PM in the US east coast is 10 AM somewhere in the world. Seriously, though… when you get up in the morning, do 20 minutes of walking in place or stair work or running/walking/jumping jacks to get the body to use that fully-fasted state to burn fat. Then have your coffee and light breakfast (no pasta, no cheesecake, an apple is great) and go on about your day. Circadian rhythms be damned! Good luck!

@TeresaW2024 Mami stayed with me until the very end. She went into hospice on a Wednesday and passed the following Tuesday. But she had no medical issues at all, didn't take meds, and didn't weigh more than I could manage. She was also passive, no aggression of any kind until I tried to take the crayons away that she thought were Snickers bars. We do what we can while we can and after that, we leave it to the powers that be. 💗

@trooworld Thank you! Oh no I hope all is well when you see the surgeon tomorrow, sending lots of prayers up for you! I’m glad they’re getting you in fast.

@TeresaW2024 I’ll go accept the FR after I post! Oh I hope your weight matches your sister’s soon! LOL those tomato worms are hornworms, they’re pretty gross! Funny I just threw away a couple plants covered in aphids because I didn’t want to deal with the bugs either. Enjoy your trashy reality TV and your puzzle! Dinner sounds so good.

@AnAbsoluteDiva You offer the best advice, I appreciate having you on this team!

Hi team! Micro current class last night was rough not sure if I ended up having a flare up from the treatment or from having multiple people using machines around me. I had a slow morning and got in a workout then met a friend for lunch (frozen yogurt shop) and finally gave her a late birthday gift. My roommate BBQed salmon and asparagus and I had greens from the yard and reheated some rice, nice dinner! Off to log my dinner have a great Thursday!

Here's Asher's info at Safeway Pharmacy, it says Pet of the Month above. She'd said the frame was 8x10 and I'd thought it could be turned, oops!

@AnAbsoluteDiva , I’m glad you could keep your sweet mama home until the end. That is what I pray to be able to do as well. My Joe is also very sweet and does whatever I tell him. But it can be challenging when they forget what you just told them. At least he isn’t trying to eat crayons, yet! 🙂

@Katmary71 Bummer you suffered a flare up and I hope you feel better today. Asher is such a beautiful cat! My sister just bought my 11 year old nephew a cat. I get to meet her on Sunday. 😻

@trooworld My sister’s guilty pleasure is watching My 600 lb Life, too. She always tells me about some poor person and how it motivates her. Ohhh my goodness what a hassle you brought on yourself by just wanting a simple cushion! I guess you can look on the bright side and you might receive the relief you need.  🙂

Good morning! We woke up to rain, and Maggie was not thrilled about peeing in it. She is so funny because she will come back in and stand still so I can dry her off with her towel. I’m tracking my eating, and I think it does help keep me more mindful. Joe eats peanut butter and jelly almost daily, and I’ve had the bad habit of allowing myself to have some of that tasty peanut butter as if those calories don’t count. I saw a picture of myself from last Easter when Joe’s family was here, and I’m using it as motivation NOT to look the same when they visit in June. 🙂

The last couple of days have been so great. Yesterday, I was baseball grandma, I took Chipper with me and he enjoyed it so much. There was a ton of kids that wanted to love all over him. He kept trying to reciprocate by slathering them with kisses. He wanted to play ball with them and a couple of times they threw the ball for him because he would go get it. He didn't want to give it to them though, Chipper likes to play keep away. Lol… it was pouring down rain, but we had so much fun and Chipper was in doggie heaven.

I got in two good workouts the last 2 days, plus all the walking at the ball field. I tracked all my food in MFP & loseit and I ate some veggies. I did my journaling and I felt like I have been going in the right direction in my journey for about a week.

I've noticed that people aren't really posting in loseit anymore. So, I'll probably quit tracking in loseit, it kind of is a waste of time to do it twice.

Today is very dark and gloomy, so I'm going to do my best to make my own sunshine.

    Y'all have a great day 😀 😊
