Been feeling very lethargic over past 2 days. I think its because I ran out of iron supplements 3 days ago so going to start taking it again today. Going to try increasing protein as well. Been eating a lot of coconut oil as well but I don't think that would cause fatigue.

Work has been busy—a welcome change! Warmer weather, too.

My piriformis/deep glute is still acting up, so I’m debating PT (without a doctor’s order) or just sticking with "YouTube University" for now. Found some good exercises to try—why do we avoid PT, though?! It flares up most at night (I'm less active then), so I’m thinking of adding an 8:45 PM walk and some targeted moves to keep it loose.

maybe it just me?! Been trying to post but can’t find the “my groups” like I used to - I post from my phone so maybe that’s it?!

Anywho - thanks the new spring cleaning thread, @SherryRueter! Love the idea. I needed the boost as I’m getting more tired than usual - not as able to bounce back from a night of bad sleep like I used to.

Still creeping my way to the loss of the last 5 pounds!! 🙁😖

    • I think maybe Just A girl made the thread. I sure didn't. Love it though!!!

@Ceebeeslim Do you take a Zinc-Magnesium-B6 supplement? I have been and MAN has that helped me get a good sleep (which aids in recovery and appetite management- need I remind y'all).

@ceebeeslim - do your "parents' people you take care of, get a lot of UTI's? My mom sure seems to (probably related to her 35% heart availablitliy from the heart attack). Just wondering - and if so, any ideas for prevention? I am currently thinking of finding a good Cranberry juice/pill/gummy and/or telling her to get baby wipes to clean really good down there after she potties. (*she wears depends, I am sure that does NOT help).

Have you spoken to a chiropractor regarding your injury Sherry? (hugs)

Regarding UTI's, I recommend daily consumption of apple cider vinegar (about 2tbsp) plain probiotic rich yogurt, and of course, garlic.

    SherryRueter Posts: 3,564 Member

@justfirl - How do you possibly do the 2T ACV? hints/tips? Yes mr. chiropractor was the 1st person who knew when it happened. I don't care for his physical therapy people/area - seems not as high end as it should be. But, I have found an amazing resource just by asking chatGPT what to do. seems to be helping a lot for me lately.

My mom refuses Yogurt. Its too bad. I'm actually enjoying Plain yogurt now (yeah - the Fage 0% plain) amazing with fruit. I can't imagine what the other brands would taste like at this point. so YAY@ progress!!

Back is feelign a LOT better this week. Periformis feels a ton better too. But still around a 1-2. I'm using Chat GPT fitness coach to help me with my routines so that I strengthen the areas I need to and don't do the other areas.

Sherry, I put ACV on salads everyday. We have always done that in my family. :)

  • SherryRueter
    SherryRueter Posts: 3,564 Member

My mom is not a salad lady. hmmm… I'll find something.

obviously have time on my hands most days. I had a switch in management a couple weeks ago and we've been discussing me doing more software/report development and moving away from my helpdesk support role. Its been about 7 years since I did coding. Although I did it for roughly 20years. How did I get this old?

Oh, friday - Hubs wanted to do Back at the gym, so I did my total body cardio at the gym. Wasn't feeling like running. Then finished at home wth mobility strength/strech using ChatGPT ideas : Typed in "I did a total body with weights today, about 40mins. Please provide me a mobility strengthening cool down that includes what I need to be doing for my piriformis/deep glute issue - as well as my workout today". BAM…. 6-7 moves with reps etc.

I had been using ChatGPT to give me insights on what was happening with mom. Its a pretty good research tool. I do use it every now and then to help with my work communications.

thanks for the thread start @justgirl81! Sherry, my mom used to have uti’s a lot - until I took over her toileting. I have to make sure she’s properly hydrated (not too much due to her cardiac issues); do a “timed void” make sure she goes to the bathroom every 2-3 hours; make sure she does not sit in a wet depends; constantly ask her if she has to go; and I probably have made the makers of these wipes I found on Amazon rich! I used these several times a day.

My mom and mother-in-law swore by acv. That was our salad dressing growing up - what’s olive oil?? 🤣. Cucumbers and acv - daily. It was used on their face as well. I now take it as a tonic with lemon and cayenne and turmeric - every once in a while!

    - Strength session today - Shoulders and quads. Could be just me. LOL. Lunges and presses and raises. Shoulder is doing good by the way.

Last sunny day here - then rain. Man I have a head ache right now. Likely missing my morning coffee.

Okay - mom and I will have a talk about sitting in wet depends and how that increases UTI's. I will bring up the toileting and washing down below every couple of hours for prevention. Yes, its likely a higene issue.

We are going to visit this week for 5days. Unfortunately for a newphews funeral but, visiting none the less

    Strength Total body ISO today.

Storms all went north of us, just localized flooding around the area.

Mom plans to use the wet wipes daily. Hoping that helps her out and reduces UTI's.

It was great to see family - but the 13hr drive back is SO long. and my sciatica was highly inflamed. But, I made it. and sleeping in my own bed was amazing!
