@minstrelofsarcasm sorry to hear of your food poisoning. I had something similar just happen on our spring break trip. Unfortunate way to lose weight in vacation.
I struggle to find this group and so if I disappear it's because I can't seem to figure out how to navigate the community. 😭

@LivinLaVidaRosa - I've had to bookmark this group in order to find it again. I don't think MFP understands how to properly design a website for their users.
As for my weigh-in this week…
Previous Weight: 183lbs
Current Weight: 183.9lbs
After a few days traveling and attending a conference, I'm surprised I only gained about a pound. Normally all the salt and sugar and stress (and excess calories!) leaves me bloated.
My personal trainer and I are going to take a look at my measurements on Monday, see how much my body has changed over the past year. These measurements include: thigh circumference, lower belly, glutes, waist/upper belly, upper arm circumference, and a couple others I've forgotten. We do this every 6 weeks or so, and it's been a great way to see non-scale progress.

Way to walk Weight No More!
Kudos to top of the leaderboard, @Emilienewme for most steps in one day--exceeding 20K and @purple1butterfly was close behind with less than 1000 steps under 20K! And @blessedgrandma5 has reclaimed Most Consistent! And of course, bolded members have a step goal and reached their goal!
The steps team has walked over 888K steps in the first two weeks of March. I know we can break 1.5 million…can we reach 2?
If you want to join the step challenge for March:
Just post your steps by the end of Wendnesday after the week ends. I'm flexible and might wait a day or two for you. If we're 'friends', I may drop a personal note to you to check in. If we aren't, and you'd like a personal note, send me (melaniedscott) a friend request.
Part of the challenge or new and want to add or update a goal?
If you want to... be bold (heehee), let us know how many steps you want to hit every day on average and we'll keep track of it for you!
For anyone confused about where we are ...
This is post is for March 9-15. For those interested in joining the February step challenge (you can join any time!), the week of March 16 (3/16-3/22) steps should be posted by Wed, March 26th.
Awesome walking steps team!

Happy Monday Everyone
Have a great week!
Hopefully, I'll be getting back to my old self again. My cold has lifted and my butt/hip pain is better, so I expect to be more active this week and be out of the house more than working from home. I'll no doubt feel exhausted by the end of the week.
With the extra down time, I've been getting on top of my indefinite to-do list and have marked a couple of long-term things off. That does feel good! I don't know why I find it difficult to get some things done.
I also bought a snack stack and have been making an overnight soak of oats, raisins, chia and milk for the mornings. It's a nice size for portioning nuts, dried fruit and seeds. I might get another couple of stacks for preparing ahead.

WEIGH IN DAY: Monday
PW: 268.7
CW: 267.9Hooray! I had a big date night dinner on Saturday and I thought that might affect my progress, but I still managed almost a pound down. The weird thing is that my body feels different, I'm noticing more muscle and I feel like my clothes are looser, even though the weight is not moving that much week to week. I am OK with this. I'm in it for the long haul.

S- 6894I didn't meet my step goal again. I have been neglecting my habits and getting off track. I'm going to recommit to walking more and doing more stuff around the house to get my steps in. Goal this week: 8000 + steps per day average.
I also hate the new editor. I can't for the life of me get the quote function to work right, and it's just awkward to use.

@minstrelofsarcasm - can I be excused for next week please? Will be away and won't have access to a scale.
Am looking forward to my break, I am a little worried than food intake may go out the window, but will at least try and be mindful and I'll definitely be a lot more active, so hopefully it will balance out!

@purple1butterfly - Happy Birthday! Have a great one!
@BodyTalking - I have one of those too! I like to fill the big cup with cut veggies, the next largest with hummus, the next with cheese cubes, and the smallest with nuts. It's a great way to portion out snacks for the day. Let me know what kinds of things you end up using it for!
@golf2bFit - Welcome aboard! I'm Ashley, one of the captains here at Team Weight No More; feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I'm both a scientist and a certified personal trainer, so I can be a good resource for double checking the science.
@jennyell85 - Great loss! I love being in a state of recomposition; it sucks not seeing the number on the scale change much, but seeing shifts in your body fat and muscle is so satisfying! As for the editor… it sucks. Quoting doesn't work, I can't center text anymore, adding images is rough, copying and pasting anything with images is impossible… I'm not a fan.
@podperson1 - You got it. Where are you headed? Anything fun planned?
Update on my end:
My personal trainer took my measurements today, and I've lost 1.25 inches in my stomach over the last two months! I also saw a dip on the scale this morning, which was a pleasant surprise. No idea if it'll stick around, but I'll take what I can get.

cedarfoxy / Emery
Day: Tuesdays
SW: 185.1 (3/25/25)
CW: 185.2
Hello all!
I'm Emery (they / them) and I will be joining the April challenge! It's my birthday month and I have some travel and school going on, so my intention is to maintain awareness of my food. I do want to lose weight, but my first step is just to track my food and get in the habit of being aware of the food I put in my mouth and how it affects the number on the scale.
I am a person who uses a weighted rolling average (Hacker Diet) which helps me focus on the trend of my weight rather than the day-to-day numbers. The weights that I report are the trend weights rather than whatever shows up on the scale. I have found that if I report the scale number, then I tend to dehydrate myself the day before so I weigh in less which is not healthy for me.
In order to maintain awareness of my food, I'm planning on using cronometer to track what I eat. It says I should consume 1864 calories daily to lose 0.5 pound per week, so my goal is between 1600 and 2000 per day. Unless I burn a lot of calories (hiking specifically), I don't want to add activity calories to that number. I know most of my calorie intake is mindless and not nutritional need. I hope that my simply attending to the food, I will make different choices, but at this stage, I'm not worried about it.
I plan to get an average of 6000 steps per day in April (minus my hiking days or other days 10k+ steps). I want to be moving consistently. I want to do an inside activity like calisthenics or jumping on my trampoline daily, and also an outside activity like a walk, run, or hike.
I'm also focusing on other self-care activities: journaling, meditating, and getting some non-screen relaxation (read a book, hot tub, massage, board game, etc.). Another big focus is planning the following day.
It feels like a lot to focus on, but I know these habits work really well together.
TL;DR
- track food but don't try to change it
- weigh-in daily and report rolling average weight on Tuesdays
- get 6000 steps a day with inside and outside activities
- practice self-care: journal, meditate, non-screen relaxation & plan the following day2 -

@cedarfoxy - That sounds like a great plan, seems like you really thought it out! I'm glad you paid attention to your own actions and did something to combat the bad habits, that's a struggle a lot of us can relate to. It's good to have you back with us, let us know if there's anything we can do to support you in your mission 💜

I couldn’t remember if I had posted my steps and instead of looking back to try and find I just posted them. Sorry if it’s a redo. I’m surprised I had that many steps for Friday. I was actually traveling to Foxwoods which was about a 2 hour ride. My 5 year old granddaughter does cheerleading and had a competition, this was her second one. Her first one they came in third place this one they came in first place and then won the grand championship. It’s so exciting to see them doing well. I love traveling with them and watching her.
My back and leg have really been killing me. I can’t wait to see the surgeon but I am getting mixed reviews about having surgery. Some people say having back surgery was the best thing they ever did and some people tell me not to do it. I just want to be able to enjoy walking and do Zumba again. I miss exercising.
My husband has started his weight loss journey. He is doing the carnivore diet and is dropping weight like crazy. But he is driving me crazy now. If I eat a piece of bread I will for the next ten min how horrible that was for me, lol. He is one of those people. I have started rolling my eyes at him and walking away. I am here to support him but sometimes he is ridiculous, lol.1 -
