I walked/jogged 3.5 miles today and it felt great! Then we spent the afternoon at the park. It was 73F, sunny, and low humidity. Perfect spring day! My hubby wanted ice cream and I only ate 3 bites of his, NSV!

@Kali225 That sounds like a great plan coming up. And I bet you are so excited for kayak season again!

    Hi Waistaways.

Woo to the win! Not the best circumstances, but I'll take it, I suppose haha.

I'm back at work today, I WFH so it's not too jarring, but it's still odd. A little too normal, really.

It does mean I need to start getting back into a routine. I have been bouncing around like the ball in a pinball machine, and that's not going to do. So I need to work out a gym schedule, pilates, dog exercising… I also need to get back to cooking. I have been living on a giant pot of soup which I'll finish today, and these lovely frozen meals friends sent me, but I need to get back to actually making an evening meal. That's my little goal for today.

@lauren_989 your day sounds so nice! It's getting colder here, and I'm dreading the winter.

@cleaneater80 I need to get back into reading for pleasure, I've been a bit lost these weeks, and have ended up just mindlessly watching TV when I'm truly more of a reader.

@Gidgitgoescrzy renovations are SO stressful!! I'm with you - focus on the garden haha.

@ElfBodGoals WOOT on the pants! Did you enjoy pilates? I'm back to it tonight, looking forward to it!

@Kali225 ugh, that sounds hellish. I completely agree that it's so not worth it. Not to mention potential long term damage! I hope you can find something that works that is kind to your body! I loved Colorado, it's somewhere I'd love to visit again. Maybe when the world is less crazy. I'm jealous of your kayaking, we meant to go this summer and never got around to it..

@ashleycarole86 I know I've been absent, but I'd like to start reporting my steps again, if that's ok? I have all of April:

    Happy Monday !

So the electrician did not make it on Friday, they got hung up on another job, so I get to take Thursday off for them to come. I don't mind at all. Plumbing is all done, and we picked and ordered the floor. The kids all told me to go with a wood look tile, but I could not find one that spoke to me, so I went with the brown stone look tile, I was told by the kitchen reno group on FB that I should go with a light floor based on my choices, but I did not do that, because I am going for a natural nature look, and guess what, the forest floor is dark, not light. So that is what made sense to me.

In the meantime, I am dealing with some teeth pain, and it's driving me crazy cause I don't know what is causing it, or how to make it stop. It's definitely worse when it comes to drinking anything hot or cold, I will call my dentist office this morning, because I have been trying everything, and it's still there.

Oh I have to admit I made a horrible choice this weekend, I bought Nutty Bars, haaa haaa a terrible food, but it is honestly my favorite junk food, and I typically only buy them when we go camping, I am not sure what made me buy them but I did, luckily I only ate one on Saturday, then put the rest in my husband's lunch box, so they are safely on their way to west Virginia right now.

@lauren_989 I read The book of Lost Names and The Kitchen House - I would highly recommend both of them. Such good reads.

I'm in Saskatoon this week for my Capstone class. Have a presentation to complete tomorrow and the nerves are real but I know I will complete it and feel good about it. Have a great week.

@cleaneater80 I will have to check out those books! I have heard of the first one, but they both sound good.

    Good afternoon Waistaways 🥰

Sort of sad day for me and I feel frustrated with myself 😢

I'm at the hospital in the coffee shop waiting for my husband. He's got a consultant appointment. The doctors in our local medical centre can't get my husbands sugar levels down. It should be below 5 and his are between 13 and 20 everyday. He's got all sorts of meds and insulin. My hubby is pretty good with food, he avoids carbs, sugars so we aren't sure what's going on.

Here I am. In the coffee shop eating toasted teacake, ham and cheese panini and large cappuccino - sort of food I wouldn't eat in front of my husbands.

My question is I'm pretty healthy, so why don't I take charge and change my life? I'm faffing around this weight for about 12 months now. I'm pretty sure I write this kind of message at least once a month 🫣 and here I am... Still the same 🤦

On the goid note my drinking slowed down and I'm no longer looking forward to wine 🤭 I still have a glass but not as often and not a whole bottle at the time 😁 Woop! Woop! Something clicked in the wine department so I'm hoping pretty soon something will click with weightloss 😍

    Happy Tuesday everyone ❤️

Woot! Another week in the green, I will take it! Today was gorgeous outside and hubby and I went for a 2 mile walk after work. We also transplanted our peppers outside, so now we are just waiting for everything to grow and give us veggies! I am really excited and hope my tomatoes do better this year. Last year, I only got 2 or 3 from them.

@strong_fit_ells medical appointments can be stressful! Maybe next time treat yourself to a small latte instead of large and only 1 snack. Great job on cutting back on the alcohol!

strong_fit_ells Hope the doctors can figure out what's going on with your husband. You have made progress even if it doesn't look like it. Cutting back on alcohol is HUGE and it's something to be proud of. Just keep swimming - we are here for you.

I finished my presentation for my class yesterday and feel so good to have it over. I went out for sushi to celebrate. I can now relax the next few days and enjoy my time here. Once this week is over I can enjoy the summer class free and focus on my health and doing activities I enjoy but have been putting off.

strong_fit_ells Way to go on the alcohol! I know how hard it is to get rid of and even cut back. The progress you've made with your drinking is huge!

@cleaneater80 wahoo! Great job on finishing the presentation for your class. Must be such a relief! How many more classes do you have to go?

@strong_fit_ells cutting back on the wine is a huge achievement! If you're like me, the weight loss will follow along after. I hope they work out what's wrong with your husband, worrying about them is so draining.

    @cleaneater80 congratulations!! Happy summer vacay!

quick check in. I think my weight will be up tomorrow. I finally emailed my doctor about stopping that medication, and I was honestly too afraid to look at her response for like a full day. But she agrees, stopping is a good idea, and I will still have my scheduled appointment with her in late June. She warned that weight gain is common coming off the drug, so I guess my short term goal will be to avoid that. (This week aside - last week's weigh-in was definitely artificially low with how bad I was feeling and not eating).

I got out for one of my first concentrated walks in a good while today. The weather has been so nice this week, but classically, it looks like rain starting Saturday and lasting 5 days straight, so the kayak season start is likely to be pushed. ugh! At least I set up my hammock so I can swing a bit after the work day and catch some rays.
