Hi all, for the end of the month do we all weigh in on April 30?

I’m heading away for a girls trip cycling on that day so prefer to weigh in then rather than use different scales (if there are any available). I haven’t done great this month (down 2lbs to date) but hoping May will be my month to really make a difference!

    Hi there!

I am poking along this month, not setting the world on fire, but making sure things are headed in a better direction. Down from last week, so calling the week a win!

@Katmary71 - I love the reset idea! My first thought is next Monday, but if you want to go for the first, I will squeeze this in faster. I am super excited!

    ***

I just watched the first bit of the video. Still excited but I can't spend the time on it tonight. I have put it in my calendar for Wednesday, so if we get started on the 1st, I will know what I am doing. Whee!

@vegan4lyfe2012 - Hi there! I realized I lost track of your question about Scouts. I work with a Boy Troop in Scouting America (formerly Scouts BSA aka Boy Scouts). Scout troops have youth from late 5th grade through 12th grade (age 18), with new kids joining each year. Our troop currently leans young, so more in the 11-15 range. (There was a dip due to COVID. Boys who want to do Scouting do not want to do it via Zoom.) I am a Committee Chair, an adult in charge of herding all the adult volunteers, and was owner of that particular campout. It was a lot of work and I think I am still catching up a bit!

@Cornanda - Thank you for the reminder that poking along is a win! I will work harder on this in a couple more weeks, but I keep reminding myself that I generally either gain or lose. If I can just nudge things mostly in the right direction for now, it is all good. And I am looking forward to more work on fitness starting in 2 more weeks!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Yes my niece does have a problem saying no, but her letting her dad drive the car wasn’t a matter of saying no it was to save money. She likes him working full-time because she gets all his money, and having him take Ubers is costly. He is adjusting his work schedule to match hers, so she will now take and pick him up most days. But yeah, it’s a hot mess! 🙄 How sweet of that church lady to make vegan muffins. I love thoughtful people! Happy birthday to your mom, and I hope you let her win Skip-Bo and that she enjoys her margaritas and family dinner.  🙂

@Katmary71, I'm all about a reset because my weight is barely moving, and I need something that will help me move faster in the right direction. I have the podcast saved and will listen today or tomorrow.  I vote to start on Monday, May 5th, so more of us might have time to listen to the podcast.  🤗

@trooworld Sorry to hear you're having another migraine! I hope it goes away today. Fancy tacos are always expensive, but they're certainly tasty! Great pictures!!  🙂

Good morning! So my good news of the day is that my nephew and his girlfriend moved out of my niece’s house yesterday. They are staying in an extended-stay hotel until they figure out their lives. I’m certainly praying they make a life for themselves and not cause any drama for this family. I’ve been missing my little great-nieces so much that today, when Joe is napping, I’m going over for a play date. For dinner, I’m making an easy beef and mushroom noodle dish that should be tasty. 🙂

@19shmoo69 – Potlucks every Sunday? That’s stressful. And yes, I can make a card for you. I’ll send you a PM with some options.

@AustinRuadhain – That is quite the age range! Hopefully the more seasoned boys help out the younger ones. Herding the adults is probably more time-consuming that the kids hahahaha What an awesome mentoring program. My son started with the Webelos, but the troop only had 3 other boys and he didn’t really enjoy their company. I didn’t push him to continue. He found his tribe with baseball. So glad there’s people out there still going strong with Scouts, tho!

@trooworld – My friend at church is not vegan, but she’s one of those people that really pays attention to things. She said it wasn’t fair that no one brings anything I can eat to any of the potlucks and she was happy to make them for me. She sent me home with the leftovers, so I shared them with the grands. Oh my, did they ever gobble them up! So cute! Wow…$12 taco? Yeah, that’s more than I’d pay. Gorgeous photos! Oh no…I’m so sorry you got a migraine. I hope it’s already gone by the time you read this.

@TeresaW2024 – Gotcha. I’m glad to read your BIL wasn’t taking advantage of your niece. Yes, my friend from church is super sweet. My mom actually told me after church that she didn’t like the woman at first. Why, you ask? Because my mom was jealous of me talking to the woman! Thankfully she’s over that now. Have fun with the littles today!

Mother’s Birthday was good – she loved the bears and tea and really enjoyed her strawberry margarita. I had a mango one that was so good! Here she is, looking fabulous at 82!

The preview event at the theater was really disappointing. Nothing at all like the previous one I attended. I may or may not attend another one in the future. By the time it was over, it was 9:30 and I was too tired to play Skip-Bo, so she let me have a rain check. I ended the evening with Gong Fu cha. If you don’t feel like googling it, Gong Fu cha means “making tea with skill” and is the traditional Chinese way of quick steeping several times. When I’m focused on the tea, it allows me to relax and not think of all the other things going on in my life.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What’s one non-scale victory (NSV) you've had recently that made you feel proud or encouraged?I did NOT put any butter grease on my popcorn at the theater last night!

I moved big clothes to the back of the closet and smaller clothes to the front.

@vegan4lyfe2012 i do not find it stressful. I like cooking so I am always looking to see what can I make next, something different.

    Hi 👋

We had a good time camping. The water pump in the trailer broke and had to be replaced. Thank goodness we were only an hour away from home. We ordered one from Amazon, picked it up the next day and hubby got it fixed for us. After that, everything was good. It was the first time we had this trailer out since we got it last year. We got home Sunday afternoon and yesterday, I was so tired and wore out, I just rested all day. Today, it's time get back at it.

@kerritho You can weigh in before you leave, this week on the spreadsheet doesn't end until Saturday but I can get your weigh in any time you're able to post it.

Recent NSV Doesn't feel like I have one but I was talking about when I was bedridden yesterday so I'm not as bad as that right now and I like being able to say my diabetes is under control.

I agree with those of you who said Monday, let's kick the challenge off then! Gives us all time to listen to the video and think on it a bit.

I am glad your son found his tribe! :-)

Your son stopped near the end of Cubs, from the sound of it. Your mentioning that older Scouts mentor younger ones is right on the money! It's part of the program design. The program structure is quite different once kids reach Scouts. Teaching younger Scouts is built into rank advancement requirements, and happens organically as well. The age range goes with all this. Scout troops, if all goes well, have a range of ages that changes each year, with younger Scouts joining each year.

TL;DNR Thanks for giving me an excuse to talk about Scouts. It's a thing I love!

My flare got better but it comes and goes now. I did ride my bike yesterday but didn't have time today. Our cable box was bad so I went to the spectrum store and got a new one. It got stuck on "Activate" after four hours and another call to spectrum I elected to go and swap it out for another new cable box, and it got stuck on "Activate" too so we are without cable tv for the next 24 - 72 hours.

I should not have lost any weight I'm eating enough to maintain plus a bit extra. I hope everyone had a good Easter. I got my husband a canvas easter basket with ears and his name on the outside. He loved it. Amazon had really cute one's.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Your mom is so cute drinking her strawberry margarita, and she does look great! My Joe turns 82 on May 19th. I’ve been trying to think of a way we can celebrate. I’m sure ice cream and apple pie will be involved.  😋

@DrewsAnna So glad you had a great time camping. Love the pictures! 😍

@Katmary71 I started listening to the podcast yesterday and will finish today. I forgot how much I like Mel Robbins!  😃

@FushiaKat Ugh how frustrated you must be over your cable box. I would be so mad! Congrats on losing a little weight. How sweet to get your hubby his own special Easter basket.  🙂

@trooworld I love a good “ugly salad!” I’m glad your migraine went away.  🙂

Good morning! I went over to my niece’s house yesterday and played Barbies with the girls and little Eli, who has to be in the middle of everything. We also had homemade chocolate cake, which was incredibly good! I came home and woke up Joe from his nap, and he was not feeling well. He has been having headaches this whole week, and last night he was not looking good and went to bed at 7 pm. This morning he is worse, but not testing for a UTI, so I'm not really sure what is going on, but it might be a long day and I'm really praying we won't have a trip to the ER. Prayers and good thoughts appreciated! 🙏

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What’s one non-scale victory (NSV) you've had recently that made you feel proud or encouraged? I said no to bringing home more cake yesterday. 😭 Another NSV was that I had to put a shirt in the donate box this Sunday, as my sister told me it was too big and I looked ridiculous in it. 😂

    Hi 👋

I knew I would have a gain, but I really expected it to be a lot more. I'm thankful for this weigh in, I tried not to go to crazy.

Next week, I'm finally having my appt at the weightloss management clinic. I have been waiting for this appt since November and I feel like the Wegovy will help more being monitored instead of being left on my own. Your supposed to increase the dose about every weeks and I haven't. I'm happy this is finally happening.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

@DrewsAnna Glad your weigh in wasn’t too shocking. I hope your appointment goes well with the clinic and they’re able to help you more. Your camping trip looks so fun, loved the flowers too! Great job taking fruits and veggies on your trip.

@bobboyardee I look forward to reading your intro!

@trooworld Love seeing your photos! I’m glad you’re likely going to jump in on the challenge. Love you having your leather jacket fitting again!

@TeresaW2024 I hope the reset helps all of us! I really hope Joe is feeling better soon, sending up prayers for you two! Way to go on not bringing home cake and donating that shirt!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Your Mom looks very happy enjoying that drink and does look great, Happy Birthday to her!

@FushiaKat I’m glad your flare has improved especially with your cable out. I hope they get it straightened out soon.

Hi team! Spent the morning at the farm then in the yard at home. I had a refill appointment too. My case manager called and she’s calling back tomorrow to get all my information so hoping that goes well. My Dad and I fixed my beds at the community garden then BBQed last night. My roommate came home from work last night and came in the house excited saying something about my cats seeing what happened too, turned out a coyote attacked the goslings of the newest geese family (have a small man-made lake in the middle of this neighborhood) and killed all three of the babies right in front of my driveway, she chased it away and came in to get me. I buried them in the yard crying, it was horrible seeing them especially with the parents crying down the street. It’s been eerily quiet today not sure if the geese are even here today but there’s usually a bunch. Tomorrow’s the greenhouse, we’re putting basil seedlings in bigger trays and moving the herbs to the farm. Have a good Thursday!

@vegan4lyfe- I forgot to say how cute your Mom looks. What a perfect bday pic!

@Katmary71 - That is so sad about the geese. Hugs to you…..

@trooworld - great that your jacket fits! Work- I need a rest- manager is on vacation and I'm stuck keeping the show going- she's on a two week vacation. Next week, I got pushed into going to a conference, and I may be in the minority, but I do not find conferences fun. My eating is going great, but there will be a few challenges to navigate coming up. I'm planning to take some time off around Memorial week which will be good for me.

@Cornanda Thank you! What are you planning to do on your time off? It will be well-deserved after two weeks of keeping things moving at work.

@trooworld Great I’m glad you’re doing the challenge too! Case Manager I called my insurance and asked for one after the podiatrist recommended it. I’d had one before that I think was more of a social worker, the woman I talked to today is a nurse with my insurance and she interviewed me then another nurse will take over. I’m cautiously optimistic. Ugh I hate that people think the coyotes can’t get their cats, I kind of thought that about the feral cats then came across one I’d just had fixed that had been killed. We actually had a neighbor’s dog taken off it’s porch with that coyote (was being fed by homeless so it still killed but left them behind), really traumatic for the owners and I dogsat him so I was pretty upset too. The art show sounds amazing and that was a great painting, I can’t wait to hear about it! I have a small kitchen too I get annoyed any time someone crowds me in it. I don’t know the answer in your situation are you two eating different things now? You have pretty active weekends so it would be tough to cook for the week on them. I hope you two figure something out.

@bethanie0825 Have a safe trip, I hope the move goes well! Ugh you don’t want to weigh after flying either. You’re having an awesome month keep doing great!

HI team! Had a great day, the greenhouse went well, we took two rounds of two cars to get stuff to the farm. I went to Costco after that (never going at lunch again) as I wanted to get a bunch of eggs and supplies to make a few batches of egg bites/muffins for the garden club meeting Saturday. I think I’m doing ham, asparagus, and tomatoes probably with some basil. My interview with the nurse case manager went well and took over an hour, I think it will be helpful but also don’t want to get my hopes up. Right before she called I checked the patient portal and my appointment with my primary wasn’t noted on their end and I should be meeting to discuss the rheumatology appointment. They’re so booked they have no openings until June’s calendar opens so I can’t even get an appointment now so the advocate has her work cut out for her. Going to go get in the tub and get some rest, planning on the farm for a couple hours. Have a great Friday!

    Quick pop in

Next month's link is up so early. What the heck?

@trooworld- the art show- what fun! I hope you can work out something with your husband. It seems like the solution is him starting to cook his dinner earlier or coordinating who's night it is to use the air fryer

    @teresaw2024- How's Joe?

@bethanie0825 - you are doing great on weight loss- congrats! Good luck with packing

@Katmary71 - I will have to be sure not to try to tackle lots of home projects during my time off. I like to do that, but the purpose of being off is also to rest and just be. Balance is key. I really hope that this case manager thing works out and is helpful to you.

    Have a great FriYay!

    Hi 👋

I have managed to keep myself very busy last couple of days with projects that have needed to be done, but I am the greatest of procrastinators.

It's quite a bit cooler today than it was yesterday, but I would to get outside for a little bit before it starts raining again.

I'm slowly but surely getting back on track and while I haven't "exercised", I have been real busy and doing some dancing while I'm cleaning. So, I call that a win 😀
