It's time for a life update! It's been crazy. My aunt, a lung cancer survivor, had lumps in her breasts and was afraid it was cancer. So I would go sit with her elder ladies while she was going to the doctor and underwent a biopsy. Her great granddaughter had a birthday party over the weekend and the other great grandma was in a bad head on collision. So I had to elder sit again while my aunt went to the hospital every time the woman was in surgery. I am also writing more, so I've not had as much time for mfp. I am still committed though.

my lowest point was 213.2 but officially I've ended at 213.6lb. just 0.2lbs shy of picture time… I do need to get back into stretching more. Losing weight still feels like a fantasy. I can see it in the picture above. my shorts are loose now. But it still doesn't feel real.

I hope all of you are having a good week. If you don't, post something so we can support you. If you are post something so we can celebrate with you. We may not be able to be with each other physically but that doesn't mean that we can't be there for each other.

So I've been missing in action. Thought i posted an update since this one but apparently not. I did get down to 210.8 and then did the birthday thing. I didn't blow up the world with eating or anything but decided to take a diet vacation and just not worry about it. That has lasted a little longer than normal. I'm don't really want to know what I weight right now. But eventually i'll have to bite the bulllet. Whatever i have gained can be lost. But at least the birthday/holiday marathon is over and things can get back to normal.

I hope all of you are doing well.

glad you had a nice birthday. I understand the need for a diet vacation. I still tracked but was a lot less strict with my food choices when my kids were here. I also took a few days off from tracking recently but that didn’t work out for me so I went back to it.
as someone wise once said, consistency is key. 😉

Also, thanks for starting this group. It’s been really helpful to me. I appreciate your commitment to this.

Thanks and I'm glad to have you here Pamela. So I was going to skip the scale for a month or so because I didn't want to see the damage I had done. But I discovered my mindset was still on a sliding scale. I could 'slide' what I wanted cause who would know? So I stepped on the scale yesterday. It was 219.2 😪 that was +8.4lbs. but this morning I was 217 so back to feeling normal.

i am busier as of late. so I'm setting aside an hour to be social on mfp every day. I've never been the type to be militant about anything but I recognize I will need this place and my friends in order to be as healthy as I can be for the rest of my life. It's not a week (or two) vacation from 'dieting' that causes a problem. It's the permanent ones.

    i've missed you all.

Hope you are doing well @totameafox! Sometimes a short break is needed, but you are so right that it is the longer ones that get us. I haven't gotten on the scale since I have been home from vacation, but am tomorrow.

You are doing great, give yourself the same grace you give others. Its about progress, not perfection.

You said it all. Thank you for your continual words of wisdom.

    You're an inspiration. 🌷

I agree with Meg and Sunrise, you nailed it.

I too have been struggling and so have been avoiding the scale. I finally hopped back on this morning. I think I’m holding about the same but haven’t lost anything in a while. I too, need to recommit to being here and following my calorie deficit food plan.

    We can do this!

i'm currently having issues forcing myself to socialize. That is the main reason I am being so quiet. Being outgoing isn't natural to me. I have been busier as of late but not to the extent that I couldn't make time for everyone. I know it's good for my mental health. Yet the only reason I am posting tonight is because I won't be getting that dog. She died today. I've never even seen a picture of her but I was looking forward to being her mum. I am more sad for my aunt who was bringing her to me because she feels guilt deeper than most. A semi hit her vehicle, tearing it open and the dog ran away, got hit by a car. The people to hit her (the dog) took her to the vet where she was euthanized. I assume the vet called after scanning her microchip. At least now she won't spend most of her day in a crate.

Just buckle your dogs up. It not only keeps them from becoming projectiles. It keeps them from running away after something terrifying happens to them.

    Tragic

... you are missed... speak when you can. Sometimes life is a bit wordless, and then words return…

What an absolutely heartbreaking story. Such a tragic loss of your precious dog. My dog is always secured in my car. Thank you for sharing another reason to do this. Big hug! We're here for you.

Hey this is previously Bookphilosopher. I locked myself out of my old acct and can't remember the email. I posted an update on my diary. I hope you are well. I've missed you and your group on here. So sorry to hear about the dog also.

So sorry to hear about the poor dog @totameafox, how awful. I understand the impulse to retreat inwards in times of sadness and stress as I tend to do the same. I hope to get to know you better when you're feeling up to it.
