my apologies @trooworld i didn’t understand that there were two separate areas to tap in. Usually there’s separate post saying here’s the next month’s thread. Which is why I didn’t see it attached to the closed post.

@DrewsAnna I just saw that about your feral cats are they outdoor cats? I’m glad you had a good time with your kids. I hope the Wegovy increase helps you with the food noise. The weather there sounds lovely we’re around 90s all week. Congratulations on cutting those toenails!

@trooworld I love caramel corn too I probably should have picked a trail mix but I always eat too much of that as well. Have you had Werthers Caramel popcorn? Good stuff! I’ve had some good ones from World Market too (we need to find a lower calorie way!). Is Jefit free? Have a wonderful time with your friend! Interesting about snacking I’d be fascinated to know what’s triggering it, you could write down how you’re feeling each time you want a snack and see what comes up the most at the end of the week. I love your two mottos those are great ones!

@TeresaW2024 Hugs to you. Does Joe get a lot out of going to church? I think the connections with others would be great for both of you though I know it’s not easy. Would someone be willing to stay with Joe so you can go or would you not want to do that? Definitely pray on it I hope the right answer comes to you.

@baodell17724 I’m so glad you got off the rower! I didn’t know there were taller rowers but have been Googling. When I first started turning my health around I used a recumbent exercise bike which is tough to use now. It would be awesome to have a rower that high!

@laurelfit57 I’m so glad the medication change went well! It’s hard sometimes to tell if something is due to a medication or a change with us, I’m so glad you’re feeling better. I’ll definitely be posting kitten pics! LOL love the look Ty is giving you!

Hi team! I got up early as Asher was venting (he does this every time I take him to the vet or rescue group for nail trims). I got in a good workout then showered and headed to the farm to get the credit card to go buy popcorn for our mushroom growing. I stopped at a different grocery store on the way back for a few things then when I got to the farm I started trimming cucumber plants while taking and a couple hours went by. One of the other volunteers growing mushrooms had an emergency so I brought her mushroom stuff home to take care of. I made https://www.skinnytaste.com/turkey-and-black-bean-enchiladas/ for dinner with a salad and it’s really good. Spent after dinner in my garden and at the community garden planting some seeds. Have a great Tuesday!

@trooworld Now that you know that work is your snacking problem, you must think of creative ways to avoid the snacks. You can challenge yourself so that when you are at work, you don’t snack. Maybe keep a healthy snack in your car, and if you succeed at not snacking at work, you can reward yourself with a snack on the drive home. My snacking issues are in the afternoon and I’ve realized that I do much better if I don’t have an afternoon coffee, which always seems to trigger me wanting a little something extra. Your mottos are great!  😀

@baodell17724 Ohhh my goodness! Your story was funny but also super scary. I’m glad you got your foot out so that you didn’t have to traumatize your poor cleaning lady!  🙃

Good morning! I'm not happy with my weight gain this week, but at least it's down from where it was after Joe came home from the hospital. I intend to do better this week. We will see if I can do it.🫤 Today, Joe has a doctor’s appointment, and I need to run to Aldi. Have a good day!

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What do you say to yourself when motivation is low? Do you have a mantra or mental trick that helps? Interesting question! I personally don't rely on motivation. I plan. I have a schedule. If it's workout time, I workout. I sometimes have to tell myself "Just start." Sometimes the hardest part of the workout is the 5 minutes before I start, when I have to talk myself into it. If I just start my warmup, I'll probably keep going.

Now if it's about food, that's a whole different set of mental calisthenics. I remind myself that I have a hard time stopping once I start indulging. So I remind myself "It's not worth it."

Motivation to exercise is easier: Using the "small habits" philosophy, I just tell myself I just have to do 5 minutes on my exercise bike… once I'm on the darn thing with the water bottle next to me, I'll easily do more than 5 minutes, usually at least a half-hour to a full hour!

Motivation to not overeat is harder to control: All food in my house is healthy (little to no processed foods). Still, you will gain weight from larger portions of even "healthy" food. Making sure your food is in individual-portioned packets is important. I have a blow-up of the picture I took of myself at my heaviest: 286.2 lbs (June 1st, 2024) on my fridge door and next to my computer monitor! LOL😜

    Hi 👋

Yesterday, I walked around a football twice. Chipper and I both enjoyed. The day before (Sunday), I used the resistance bands. Last night my body was so super that I went to bed at 9:15, lol… it wasn't even dark yet.

Here's a few more flower pictures

Not much going on in my life, still waiting on HJM to give me a good refund number so we can return the Trike, I took pictures of everything and made a webpage, and I printed out all of the pictures for them to keep, I want them to sign for the Trike. They are trying to keep 1500 for a defective Trike and I don't want them to have that money. They make me feel like it's my fault the Trike stopped working. I am prepared to take them to small claims court. I hope it won't come to that, but I'm have a low tolerance level for their greed.

@FushiaKat - Good for you! I look forward to hearing HJM has accepted responsibility for the bad product.

@DrewsAnna - What gorgeous pictures! Everything looks shockingly green and lush to this central Texan.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - How are you doing this week? Any plans?

@TeresaW2024 - How great that you know that afternoon coffee is a trigger! You have me thinking about my triggers. Hmm. Your gain for the week was quite small. Keep doing what you can to take care of you.

@trooworld - Your hummus recipe looks a lot like mine, before I make adjustments. I go light on the tahini and heavier on the garlic. I also like making hummus with other beans. Here's a navy bean hummus I like: https://www.forksoverknives.com/recipes/vegan-snacks-appetizers/navy-bean-hummus/ I need to try beet hummus, too.

@Cornanda - Gus is super cute! I am currently reading two books: The Dead Cat Tail Assassins by P. Djeli Clark (action/adventure/fantasy, sometimes funny), and Tourist Season by Carl Hiassen (mystery set in Florida, satirical and colorful).

@Katmary71 - Congratulations on your great week! Also — you use popcorn for mushroom growing?

@laurelfit57 - Your picture of the skeptical TY is classic. What a face! Congratulations on your great day! And a big wow to the spin class.

@bobboyardee - Congratulations in the big loss! I loved your speech! So inspiring!

@Cornanda I’m reading Robin Cook’s Bellevue, think I read it right after my back surgery and am getting déjà vu. Prior to that was Frieda McFadden The Crash. What are you reading? Aw I haven’t seen Gus in ages he’s so big now and adorable!

@trooworld Oh no I’m sorry you’re so sore! @laurelfit57 I can vouch for Chris’s hummus recipe it’s a good one. I didn’t know you were tracking on Cronometer I used to log there too. Asher kept me up all night last night and was more annoying than the night before. I closed my door to keep him in my room so he wouldn’t wake up Renee but she said she never heard him. @TeresaW2024 takes creatine too I remember us talking about it about a year ago.

@TeresaW2024 I think you’re going to have a GREAT week! I hope Joe’s appointment goes well.

WHAT DO YOU SAY TO YOURSELF WHEN MOTIVATION IS LOW? DO YOU HAVE A MANTRA OR MENTAL TRICK THAT HELPS? Around the time I joined MFP there was a popular workout meme that said something along the lines of how the time will pass anyway do you want to be proud in a month or disappointed in yourself? Also if I’m waffling on food I’ll think of how I’m going to feel in the morning. For workouts I’m pretty close to needing a wheelchair and know if I stop doing it I won’t get the chance to restart again.

@micaroo4 Love your answer to the question!

@baodell17724 The 5 minute trick is a good one I used to do 10 minutes on the stair master or the exercise bike being my goal then I tended to stay on longer.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Prayers your surgery goes well!

@DrewsAnna Your garden is so beautiful! I love your roses!

@FushiaKat Oh shoot I hope the trike company reimburses you how frustrating!

@AustinRuadhain I love black bean hummus I’ll need to try the navy bean hummus! Yes we use popcorn for mushroom growing, you cook it, sterilize it, then add the liquid mycelium strain to it to grow in. Later when it’s spread to most of the grain it goes in a bag with wood and soy pellets.

Hi team! I had an early appointment to go over my DEXA scan, I have osteopenia and not osteoporosis. My roommate and I went to the Asian grocer then stopped at Trader Joe’s and came back home and I cleaned the garage. I went to the community garden for a bit to water my nasturtiums followed by Home Depot to get my Dad some succulents for our father’s day celebration this weekend. My tee shirt for the CRPS awareness walk came too. Tomorrow I have a bunch of early appointments but should have the afternoon to myself so I’m hoping to do a lot of cleaning in the yard. Have a great Wednesday!

@katmary71 those enchiladas look absolutely delicious, I am going to have to try them! They are so lucky to have you at the farm, you are always so busy there!

@Cornanda I have thought of you as well! Your Gus is just the cutest little button!

@Trooworld that's awesome that Daisy and Violet haven't gotten in a real fight for a while! Sometimes I have to give Vannie a very stern warning as she will still be bossy boots🥴. That's so great that you have not had to use your cane, sounds like things are really looking up!! I went to a sweaty stinky dude's gym for about three years, I always laughed, because these guys with these huge biceps were always looking at themselves in the mirror flexing🤣. Even the ladies change rooms were super stinky😷. When I did that work out last week, I was so out of shape, I actually had to do my stretches in my hot soaker tub with Epson salts🤣.   This week is better, I just did a barbell class, I know I am going to feel it tomorrow but it won't be as bad.  What is Cronometer?  Thanks for sharing the recipe, I have been trying to pack veggies and hummus if I am going to be away from the house for a long time. I love the hummus at the farmers market but it is so expensive!!  it sounds like you are really enjoying life. That is very interesting about the creatine.

Shorter check-in today, it is just about 8 PM and I am dragging. I am going to try to check in here earlier in the day, today was just a busy day. I did a power barbell class, I am keeping my weights very light for right now, just doing the squats and deadlifts is challenging. I did some work in my yard, took the dogs for two good walks and then I had both of my dogs in an agility class. Typically I'm not the biggest fan of running them both in one class, it wears me right out, but it is a lot of fun.  My eating was on point today,  I tracked everything and I met my protein goal for the day.  That's it for me, now it is PJ time :-). Hope everybody had a great day!!

Here's my rower (yes it's expensive, but I'll be finished off paying off my 12 monthly installments ($134 each) in October. It's really solidly built, heavy, and commercial-gym quality (definitely something that future generations will be able to use!) Everyone that I talked to about this rower had high praise for it!

Here is a less expensive rower that I considered but did NOT buy:

@Katmary71 Joe had osteopenia for years before it turned into osteoporosis. Are they putting you on any meds? I just saw your question about the church. It’s complicated! This little church has been a huge part of our lives for many years, but a lot has changed. Our new pastor is a great man and very engaged with the church, but his preaching is geared toward evangelism, which is great. However, I crave depth, which I don’t get on a Sunday morning. If I did, I would figure out how to get Joe in and out of the church, but when I’m mostly frustrated each week, I have to ask why we are doing this. Of course, working for the church takes this to another level of complication. I'm just torn between my obligation as a church member and doing what is right for Joe and me at this time in our lives. I'm praying about it! 🙂

@trooworld Good job on getting in a home workout! I take creatine too, and don’t feel anything other than good when I take it. You might need to get used to it or change your brand. It’s one of the best supplements we can take, and so much new research is coming out on how good it is for women. 🙂

Good morning! Today, we are home, and I plan to do my workout and get Joe to do his exercises, too. He is done with the antibiotics and had a shot yesterday for his low hemoglobin, so I’m hoping he can regain a little more energy. I am giving up my afternoon coffee in the hopes that it will also stop me from being triggered to snack. I also just heard that K-cups leach microplastics into our brains, and that doesn't sound good! 😲

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What do you say to yourself when motivation is low? Do you have a mantra or mental trick that helps? Motivation doesn’t work for me because it doesn’t ever last. I have to commit to my plan and then become obsessed with it. My commitment is failing right now, and I’m trying to figure out how to get it back.😕

    Hi 👋

I have PT today for my knee and shoulder. Later on, my grand babe has a baseball game, the last one this year. I'm looking forward to it. Then tonight, I'll start my increase of Wegovy. I'm hoping there won't be any side effects.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

@baodell17724 Thank you for the greatlinks! Impressive rower wow it looks very high end. My biggestpurchase exercise-wise is about that size too I managed to get aprofessional recumbent bike at Sears that someone ordered and didn'tpick up for only $400. Right now my legs hurt too much to use itthough. Keep rowing just come up with some safety options!

@laurelfit57 The enchiladas were greatI recommend that recipe. Skinnytaste has a great chicken enchiladaone too think it's called The Best Chicken Enchiladas There was an error displaying this embed. If you like her enchilada sauce I strongly recommend doubling thebatch and freezing one for the next time you make them, I went to doit for the turkey ones and was out of tomato sauce so I'm stocked upnow for next time. Sounds like you got a lot of exercise in today!Great job on food as well wtg!

@alimalli86 The chat does move fasthere! One great tip I can offer is if you respond in a text documentand copy and paste it to MFP when you're done you're able to gothrough the responses and reply to each one a lot faster and you'reless likely to miss things.

@Cornanda Your book sounds good let usknow what you think of it!

@trooworld Thank you! Oh I love yousqueezing in a home workout wtg! Smart call to ask your surgeon aboutcreatine I didn't know stomach cramps happen from it.

@TeresaW2024 I won't need meds yet forosteopenia. I was hoping not to but now I'm thinking I need arebounder to strengthen my bones along with stepping up weightlifting. Would doing a Bible study help more with depth? Working forthe church definitely makes your situation more complicated I'm notsure what the answer is. What about an online Bible study or podcast? For the k cups this brand came up with a better K cup and you can buythem at Costco I believe, here's the info about it https://sfbaycoffee.com/pages/compostable-faqs I love the Rainforest and French Roast coffees. There may be areusable pod you can put coffee directly in. My Dad got me a singleserve Black-and-Decker and I use it a lot though right now I madecold brew and am going through that.

@DrewsAnna Hope PT goes well for you.Have fun at the baseball game! I hope you don't have dosage issues too.

Hi friends! I got a text last night that the farm wanted to offer me a produce box for free out of theones being purchased. I'm going to take them up on it, with needing to buy kitten food I wasn't going to get it so I'm very grateful. Ihad my allergy shot, dental cleaning, and pain clinic appointment before Noon then watered at the community garden and have beencleaning up my yard. This Saturday is my CRPS walk, I got the teeshirt from the group. Forgot I need to talk to the president again soI better give her a ring. My roommate's leaving in the next week, she's not working this week and it's nice to have her around. Herbirthday is later this month and I want to get something to gift herfor it. Have a great Thursday!

@trooworld @Katmary71 - the book is decent so far- I'd say it's a beachy romance with a bit of historical touches. I've seen Facebook reviews saying they were sobbing reading it, so we'll see what's still to come (might get deeper than beach read?!) I'll update when I'm done.

@Katmary71 - Bellevue did not sound like a good thing to read after back surgery…..😂

@Katmary71 I’m not a fan of most women’s Bible studies because they focus too much on feelings and less on content. Currently, I’m getting my depth from Mike Winger, The Bible Thinker, who has a YouTube channel and podcast. He is excellent! I’m watching his series on Mark’s Gospel where he deep dives word for word in these hour-long videos. I just did video three, and I don’t think we are even out of chapter one yet! My jam has always been apologetics, and this guy knows his stuff. He also does a weekly show where he answers 10 questions that people write in. So interesting!! 😀 Thanks for the K-cup link. I have a reusable Keurig cup, but I have never used it. I need to start! ☺️How nice that the farm gave you a produce box. Is it plants or actual grown-up produce? Have fun on your CRPS walk. How many people are expected to be in the walk? I am sorry you are losing your roommate. You two seem to be well suited, and I really hope you can find someone else with whom you can bond. I can’t wait to see those kitties!! 😺

@trooworld What an excellent decision to work out at home if the traffic is light! I love how you are making your health such a priority! I remember when you barely drank a glass of water a day, let alone 72 oz! Way to be an inspiration to the rest of us! 😀

Good morning! Joe’s oncology nurse called yesterday to say that his bloodwork showed that his potassium was at a dangerously low level. It was low in the hospital, too, and they were giving him supplements, but I didn’t think it was still low after he came home because they didn’t give us an Rx. So, he has a prescription and must take the supplement for the next couple of weeks. It sure explains why he wasn’t getting better after coming home from the hospital, and has been so weak and tired. The only bright side is that I now have a good reason to tell my pastor why I’m not coming to church on Sunday and attending that potluck meeting. I was really dreading the ordeal of Joe and the potluck. 🤨 I made a big batch of curry chicken salad yesterday and will probably eat that again today since it was soooo good! Have a lovely day! 🙂
