@trooworld So glad the dogs are feeling better! Oh my goodness Violet pick on someone your own size who can’t eat you! I can see why you needed to rest after that how scary.

DO YOU TRACK YOUR PROGRESS IN ANY WAY BESIDES THE SCALE? HOW DOES IT HELP YOU STAY MOTIVATED? I do more in ability to do things since when I was obese I could barely move. Both my weight and health (not counting pain) aren’t as bad as before but they were in a better place when I was in remission so it’s hard not to think of what that was like but I definitely appreciated how fast I got out of my car today as it used to take a few minutes. For that matter I used to barely do my own shopping so getting out of the car fast and walking in the store and being able to shop are both big things.

@TeresaW2024 The kittens have a bacterial issue, apparently a lot of the current feral kittens in this area are going through this. I was feeling like an awful foster mom! They get their next round of medicine soon so I’m mentally preparing myself! That’s a tough point you know you shouldn’t eat your emotions but when stressed it’s hard to listen to a reasonable voice. I’m kind of stuck there too.

@DrewsAnna I agree it IS hard to get so much protein and fiber! I’m glad PT is down to one day and that you learned a new exercise there.

Hi friends! Well the kittens have a bacterial infection causing diarrhea, first round of medication was this morning and next is in 15 minutes so send prayers I don’t get scratched helping them feel better! My weekly pain patch fell off earlier and I change it on Friday, I had already taped it on when it was falling off so the next few days will be a challenge as it doesn’t feel like it’s active anymore. You can’t really say anything is wrong with stuff like that or you’re instantly flagged for abusing it (even though it has stuff in it so you can’t abuse it). The head pharmacist doesn’t like me because I reported him so I’ll just deal for now. I have a bone test in Sacramento tomorrow where I have to go at 10AM, they’ll give me something for the next imaging before I leave, then go back at 2:30. I have such a bad time driving I’m getting a medical ride there and back. Praying they don’t screw up the scheduling since I’ll be far from home. I took a friend for taco night at our usual restaurant for her birthday, we had a lot of fun catching up. I’m still sad about how things went with the charity but I’m happy the two of us stayed friends. OK time to go scruff some kittens and shove medicine down their throats! Have a great Wednesday!

The name of my new Trike is Meet One, I got the Tour model. I love it, I'm not afraid riding it, it's very stable and has lots of power to go up the hills. I love that all 3 wheels have suspension it makes all the difference. It even has Reverse! It fits me, I'm only 5' 4" tall. Today I rode up my favorite hill twice. I ride about 3 miles a day. We are just waiting on a court date for the Purple Trike made by HJM Bikes.

QUESTION: Do you track your progress in any way besides the scale? How does it help you stay motivated?

Not really… I used to periodically try on 'old' clothes to see if I fit into them again. Since being retired - as well as being a single guy - all I wear are t-shirts, sweatpants, short and sweatshirts! LOL (I also don't see the scale as my enemy, so I'm no longer bothered by my daily weight fluctuations.) 😐️

@TeresaW2024 It was really scary . Thank you, I did need a day off! That's too bad about the weather, I hope it gets better. Good idea to group errands together! "I've only lost 17 lbs", girl, you could have gained 20, so be glad with all you have going on that you actually lost. You are doing well. I know it's not as fast as you want. I hope you can get control of the emotional eating and hopefully that will help. Let's do this!!! Maybe try NSV tracking?

@Katmary71 Thank you , me too! LOL yes, Violet scared the heck out of me. :) That's awesome that you were able to get out of the car and shop on your own without too much trouble, great NSVs! That's good you found out the issue with the kittens and they are on meds now. Sorry about the pain patch falling off. I hope the bone density excursion goes okay.

@FushiaKat I'm glad you like your new Trike , it's cute!

@baodell17724 Thanks for the article . It was really good and I agree with the ideas in it.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: Do you track your progress in any way besides the scale? How does it help you stay motivated?
I do, I track my measurements as well as with pictures. I also try to log NSVs when I think about it. Through these avenues, I see a lot of changes that aren't reflected on the scale. It does keep me motivated. I am also tracking my ability to do push-ups: I started on the wall, progressed to the railing...hopefully someday soon I'll be able to do knee push-ups and finally a real push-up!

Hi all. I had a 90-minute meeting at work yesterday for a committee I am on now. At least they gave us lunch: Panera, I could choose a salad or a sandwich and I chose an Asian chicken salad. It ended up being very similar to what I made for dinner, so in hindsight, I would have chosen a different salad. The day went by pretty quickly since I had that long meeting and then my lunch. I got home and did a 20-minute cardio boxing workout on YouTube. I wouldn't do that particular video again as it did a lot of things that were out of my abilities, involving jumping and other movements bad for my knees. But I'll keep looking and find a better workout for me. I was wearing a blazer that a former coworker gave me so I had a coworker take a video of me wearing it to send to my former coworker. In the video, I turned slowly around 360 degrees. It was the first time I had seen myself like that, full body from all angles. I could really tell that I had lost weight.

    Tracked yesterday? Yes

@Katmary71 Poor kitties and poor you, having to administer their medicine. Ugh, sorry about your pain patch. I hope your bone test appointment goes well. Getting a medical ride is a good idea so you don’t have to try to drive. I'm glad you had a good time with your friend. 🙂

@FushiaKat So happy you are enjoying your new Trike! 😀

@trooworld Thanks! I know I could have gained weight, and I'm happy that I’m still down for the year. I am getting myself under control…at least I’m trying, too! 😃 That is awesome that you got to see yourself on that video and see how much you have lost! I think taking progress pics and videos is so important and fun. ⭐

Good morning! It will be 97 degrees today and I will NOT be leaving my house! 🥵 I don’t even go outside with Maggie during the hottest part and stand inside while she goes out on her very long leash to do her business. We did have a nice little stroll last evening once the heat died down. Today, I will work out and do some church work. They are having their big 75th anniversary potluck, and I need to order the chicken. We will not be going. The church has been a huge part of our lives for so many years, and having to pull away is sad. But stopping the church activities is also a relief. I need life to be as simple as possible because getting Joe through the day is a struggle, even on his good days. I had a nice, long chat with my niece yesterday and discovered some family details my sister deliberately keeps from me. On one hand, I appreciate not knowing about their drama, and on the other hand, it annoys me that she won’t tell me stuff, since I’m the one who always gets them out of their financial problems. Ugh! 😖 OK, I’m off to get my man up and start this day! 🙂

@trooworld Can you make this? It says it weighs 500 pounds and all the books are strung on a wire. It's at a library in Kansas. Sounds like a lot of work, but it looks really cool!

    @DrewsAnna Great weigh-in. Congratulations!

@TeresaW2024 - You sound like you are being very smart about settiong boundaries on what you can do. How great that you got to hang out with your niece, even if some of the news was annoying. I hope today is being a good day!

@trooworld - You video with the blazer sounds inspiring! You have me thinking I should take measurements or pictures. It's so smart to pay attention to dangerous moves for your knees and keep looking for a better workout video.

@baodell17724 - Thanks for sharing the article on definining fitness for oneself. I agree that it has some good thoughts. I was thinking about some of that last night. I was at a climbing gym, and got reminded of a coach of mine, who told us that we were always getting better or getting worse. So these days, I am focusing on getting better — able to move for longer, working to improve my flexibility and endurance and strength. I know I need to focus on upper body especially. What did yo ucome away thinking about?

@FushiaKat - Hooray for staying in your range and hurray for the trike news. Your new trike looks like great fun!

@Katmary71 - I hope medicating the kittens went okay. Poor babies and poor you! Also, I am sorry you have to work with a head pharmacist that you had to report. Um, wow.

@sleepygirl79 - I am so happy to hear your plantar fasciitis is improving!

@TeresaW2024 You'll get there . You have some good habits built up. Thank you! 97F, no thank you! I don't blame you for staying in. Why do you think your sister didn't tell you about the drama? Do you think she thought you had enough going on right now?

@DrewsAnna Congrats on the loss !

@Cornanda Wow , that's cool! I don't know if I could make it but it sure is fun. 😄 Thanks for thinking of me. How's everything going?

@AustinRuadhain Thank you ! It was! You should definitely take measurements, pictures, AND videos! I know you may not want to look at them now, but someday soon, you will be glad you did. I especially think the videos are important because for some reason, I saw that video differently. I will definitely find a better video. That one was just not right for me!

Hi all. Nothing much is going on. I did decide at work, if someone asks me about my weight loss, I will tell them about my surgery. I wasn't telling people for a while. So, I told two people yesterday. One person seemed a little disappointed in my "secret". What I didn't get a chance to say was that it wasn't an easy way out, that it's been hard work. That I've had to change the way I eat and am still working on things. That I've doubled my activity level. That I work out, too.

    Tracked yesterday? Yes

@Cornanda Wow, that's an incredible art piece! 🤩

@trooworld Yes, my sister doesn’t tell me about the drama because she's protecting me. But she also wants to avoid my judgment of their poor choices, which I can appreciate, and would be happy to be kept in the dark, if they didn't come to me asking for money to fix their poor choices. Family!!! 😣 I think people do feel that weight loss surgery is an easy way out, but that is only because they don’t understand the commitment you have to make before and after the surgery. You are doing hard work, and it’s paying off for you big time! 😀

Good morning! So, when I was talking with my niece, she convinced me to play these games on a site called Free Cash, and I’ve already made $8 in two days, mostly by playing a game I already enjoy! You choose different ways to cash out, including getting an Amazon gift card. I’m not in it for the money, but I'm about getting free money to use for my Amazon stuff! 😆 I’ve been thinking about the fact that in eight months, I will be 60 years old! What a milestone that will be! 😮And I can either stay at this weight, get fatter, OR I can transform my body and in 8 months, be very close to my goal weight. The time is going to go either way, and the choice is entirely mine. Using Joe’s health as an excuse to mistreat my health is only hurting me, and possibly Joe if I get sick. So enough is enough! I’m getting mad, focused, and determined to lose this excess weight! You are all my witnesses that I’ve vowed to get my act together starting today!! 👍😀

    Hi 👋

I was a busy girl yesterday, those annoying little fungus gnats have re-infested my plants. So, slowly but surely I'm putting them all in water and cleaning their surfaces and washing their pots and etc… then slowly but surely I'll start planting them again. I hate doing all this, but I love my house plants.

I've have been making better food choices and weighing and measuring everything, I've been mostly tracking/logging it all.

I've done really well with therapy, so now I want to work more with my middle and upper body.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

@trooworld sounds like your little Violet has no fear ! I know that can be scary, unfortunately Vannie is the same.

Good for you for even attempting the cardio boxing, I think that's way above my pay grade lol.  You are a very brave woman to have done that surgery. I know a few people who have had it done, it takes so much commitment, hard work, basically a whole life change. You are amazing!

@TeresaW2024 my granddaughter is eight , soon-to-be nine. I am a pretty lucky grandma I have a very special relationship with her.  When you talk about a heat wave, how hot does it get there?  I started reading your sentence about how disappointed you are in your weight loss, 17 pounds, with what you have been going through is amazing! You should be giving yourself a big pat on the back, I am sending you a huge exuberant hug!  I am always amazed at your church and their potluck lol.  I'm glad that you are taking care of yourself and knowing when to pull away, it can be hard to do at times. I'm glad that you had a good chat with your niece but I know, families are so messy

@Katmary71 I am so sorry that your kittens are going through a bacterial issue !  Yikes! I know they have to be careful, but… I'm glad that you could get a medical ride for your bone test. Sounds like those kittens are keeping you busy lol

Well… It has been a busy couple of days here. I have figured out that if I am too busy and my body is overworked too much, I don't sleep well. You would think it would be the opposite. That being said it has all been good. Being on this medication, is a game changer. My mind is so much clearer and I am not nearly as lethargic. I have been to the gym and have done a couple of Agility classes. Even my Agility coach has noticed that I'm able to do a full course now. It's messy and nothing fancy, but I get it done lol.

I have really been getting into those protein bagels :-) :-). I made some tonight with feta cheese and minced onion and I also made some with chopped up granny Smith apples and cinnamon. I ended up putting some protein powder in as well so it up to protein count a bit. This time I used whole wheat flour. I must say they aren't quite as fluffy, but they taste delicious :-).

I have also been doing the food sequencing. Today I decided to try doing the proteins first before lunch and dinner. I also made a marinated salad that is in the fridge, so I can have that right before a meal as well. I don't know if that's allowed doing vegetables for sometimes and proteins sometime, that's the way it worked out today :-).  I don't know that it is helping me sleep better, but it has definitely kept me satiated and I really don't feel the need for a snack after dinner.

I don't know if any of you out there with animals have ever used ChatGPT. One of my Agility friends told me how to do this I will share it with you. These are pictures of Ty and Vannie, I like the one of Ty best. I think Vannie's looks kind of cartoonish, Ty looks super intense lol. My son did it with his cat, it turned out beautiful. All you do is open up chatGPT and paste this, along with a picture of your pet

Generate A high contrast close portrait of my dogs face focusing on front head, in black and white closeup, 35mm lens, 4k HD quality, Giving proud expression, black shadow background only face, is visible with my profile looking sharper, Ratio 4:3

@TeresaW2024 I really dislike those super hot days I don’t blame you for staying inside! Oh no I hope the things your sister isn’t telling you aren’t things that you will have to fix, hugs. Go you I think being in better shape for your 60th is a great motivation!

@Cornanda I love the book display!

@AustinRuadhain Thank you I feel like a jerk scruffing the kittens but I don’t have a choice.

@trooworld I love all the details you’re noting I agree you will appreciate it later though I always feel real self-conscious especially at the start of it. I do regret not doing that before. It’s really sad to me that some people don’t understand all that goes into weight loss surgery and how much you’ve had to change. I’m very inspired by you!

@DrewsAnna I hate those fungal gnats! I just got rid of them but they got into the mushroom kits AND houseplants. So glad you’re doing well with food choices and therapy, keep up the great work!

@laurelfit57 I’m so glad the medication is helping your thinking and energy so much. Yum your bagels sound delicious! Wow I agree with you Ty looks amazing! I left my phone in with the kittens so when I get it I’ll try it out.

Hi gang! The whole thing yesterday with the two-part bone scan didn’t go well, I got stuck on the freeway due to an accident and had to park so far I’d have to run about a mile so I turned around and came home. I rescheduled for next week and it’s closer together so I’ll either go earlier or get a ride there and back if I’m able to schedule one. The kittens are doing better, one’s scared of me with all this medicating so I’m trying to bond with her around them. I tricked her tonight bringing in a toy as she loves playing and scooped her up first. The room smells so much better now! I’ve never used wood pellet litter but young kittens will eat clay litter so I got it and was thinking it was so stinky because it doesn’t mask the smell at well but it was from the bacterial infection. They went from lethargic to energetic real quick, we have to stick to mostly chicken and rice until their poop firms up. TMI right? Did the greenhouse this morning and finished up some HOA board minutes. I have a lot to do in the yard I’m behind on, hopefully I’ll get to it this weekend. Behind on work too so that’s tomorrow’s project after the farm. Have a great Friday!

@TeresaW2024 - that's frustrating all around about your sister/drama. Your determination is duly noted! Go You! Please remember that your stress with Joe is not going away and you need a plan that gives you some grace during the hard times. I'm confident you can figure that out.

@trooworld - do you think the person was disappointed that you had surgery or disappointed that you didn't tell them sooner? It doesn't matter what they think anyway- this is what worked for you to take the steps toward better health. Go You!

@DrewsAnna - Get those gnats! Go You!

    (I don't even know what's going on here….)

@laurelfit57 - How nice that you have a special relationship with your granddaughter. Sounds like you are coming up with some delicious riffs on the bagel recipe- Yum. Love the pictures- Vannie is cute, Ty looks like a real Bad A—. Love it. Go You!

    (still doing it. Weird)

@Katmary71 - What a bummer that the appointment didn't work out and you have to do it over. Yay for no more stinky kitten poop! Yay for getting plant work and HOA stuff done! Go You!

I'm so glad it's Friday. Work has been a bit much this week and I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm going to have to figure out how to adjust my attitude- I've noticed that once I'm annoyed by some little thing- EVERYTHING is annoying me and that's no way to be. I've been putting in extra time on my mental health and this is a new thing I can reflect on and work on. Should be a quiet weekend. My book about the obscure documents is turning out better than I thought- hooray for that! It has been very hot here and all our plants and grass are suffering- supposed to get some rain this weekend and really hope that happens. Reading indoors on a rainy day sounds good to me.

Disappointed in my weight this week. That's what I get for setting a goal! I guess I was due for this, since I have lost every week since March. The 20 pound milestone will come soon.

@laurelfit57 - I'm glad the food sequencing is working for you for cravings. I hadn't thought of that. I'm sure it doesn't matter if you chose protein first sometimes and veggies first other times. When I can separate foods easily, I will eat veggies, then protein, then carbs. LOVE the pictures; they both look great. I'd like to see the photo that you used as the model. I've never used ChatGPT but I may just try it out with pictures of the amazing Earl. Or perhaps a picture of my deceased cats Amber & Scout.

@TeresaW2024 Ah I see . I tihnk you are right about weight loss surgery. I am doing the work! That's great you are making money to play a game. Good luck! 60 years old is a milestone birthday and you are right about the time. I like this change in attitude. Go get it!

@laurelfit57 Oh she's full of fear , but is also brave lol. It is scary. Thank you! Yeah the cardio boxing video didn't work out but I'll try a different one. And thanks about my surgery: it hasn't been easy! That's an interesting observation about your sleep. I'm glad the medication is helping so much. What a great advance in your health! Your bagels sound yummy. I've made similar bagels before with a Skinnytaste recipe and loved them. Great that food sequencing is helping with snacking. I use ChatGPT. I will share a pic I made of Violet as a Renaissance baron lol. I love the pics you made! I'm going to try with your prompt. This is the prompt I used for the Renaissance portrait below: "Create an image in a Renaissance painting style of this pug dressed up as a baron. She should be standing up like a human and be wearing a cap with feathers along with the other Renaissance clothes. This photo is only so you can capture her face, please do not use the background. Add a castle in the background instead."

@Katmary71 Thank you ! Some people will never "get it" and that's okay, I did it for me not them lol. I'm sorry the bone scan didn't go well. Good idea to go next week. I'm glad the kittens are doing better. Sounds like you've been busy as ever!

@Cornanda Maybe that's it . She had made comments about my weight loss earlier but I didn't say what I did, I wasn't ready to talk about it at work yet. Thank you! I'm also glad it's Friday! That's very observant to note that once you are annoyed everything is annoying. I'm glad you are enjoying your book. That sounds like a perfect way to read, I love reading in the rain! Sorry about your weigh-in. At least you didn't gain!

Hi all. Yay it's Friday! I'm so glad. Yesterday was a work day and traffic was kind of bad so I didn't get to work out when I got home. My husband made us dinner: he made buckwheat (groats), packaged carnitas, avocado, and seasoned pinto beans into bowls. It was really good. Today is my work-from-home day. I'm going to make a veggie soup for dinner, Summer Corn and Vegetable Soup from America's Test Kitchen. It looked really good and fresh. I just need to get some fresh basil for it. After work, we are going to the gym. I'm up 0.2 lbs, likely from taking the creatine for the past week. Yes, I am disappointed: I was in the green all month except today!!!

@laurelfit57 Thank you for the exuberant hug! I needed it! 💗Most summers, the hottest we get is the high 90s and occasionally into the 100s. As we say in the South, it’s all about the humidity! High heat with 80% to 90% is miserable! I never understand people who like saunas. 😂 Yeah, we Baptists do like our potlucks, and they are a good way to foster fellowship among the members. But as I say, couldn’t we just have a game night with snacks! That's wonderful that you have such a good relationship with your granddaughter. 🙂 I’m glad that your medication is helping you so much. Those pics of the dogs are amazing!! I just did it to Maggie Mae. See below! 😁

@Katmary71 Bummer about not being able to do your bone scan! That is good that the kittens are doing better and that you can enjoy them more. I would be in that room all day playing with those sweet babies!! 😍

@Cornanda Thank you, and I agree that I need a plan for the hard days. I’m right there with you with the need to adjust my attitude. I have also been working on my mental health and trying to figure out how to stop expressing my fear and frustrations with anger and annoyance. My poor Joe is so kind to me when I go into one of my "crazy" episodes, which only makes me feel worse. ☹️ Don’t be disappointed in your weight. You have been doing amazing, and holding steady is also something to celebrate. Especially with this heat! I hope you get rain soon. 🙂

@trooworld That soup sounds good! I just ordered fresh corn this morning from Walmart. Joe has been asking about corn on the cob, so he will be happy to see it on his plate tonight. I know you're bummed about that tiny gain, and you're probably right that it’s the creatine. I just started back on it a couple of days ago, and my weight is up either from that or the weights I lifted yesterday. We just gotta keep plugging along! That pic of Violet is hilarious!! I hope you have that framed somewhere in your house! 😄

Good morning! I am a little sore this morning, but in a good way! Yesterday, I started a new program by my favorite trainer, Joel Freeman, called Speed Train. It’s an 8-week program where each day is only 25 minutes and uses weights and/or resistance loops. I like that it’s not very long, so I can incorporate rebounding on days I have enough time and energy. I did well on my eating yesterday, except for the big handful of Cheez-Its that I ate. I will NOT repurchase those addictive little morsels! My only goal today is to get Joe in the shower. I've learned not to tell him in advance and wait until after lunch so that he can take his nap right afterwards. OK, here are my Maggie Mae's pics using Laurel's prompts. I love them both so much!! 😍

@Katmary71 – Wow that was rude of the clinic woman! Reminds me of my sister. She’d buy the cheapest thing if it was coming out of her pocket, but if someone else was paying…freaking steak every time. I was embarrassed for her. I hope the kitties are feeling better by now. Glad they are more playful.

@laurelfit57 – Thanks for the bagel recipe! Now I’ll be on the lookout for a thick, plain vegan yogurt. I’m sure there’s something out there!

@bobboyardee – Yes, Bring Her Back was very gory. I’ve watched 28 Years Later twice now. I really liked the Controversial Ending Eplained video that SpookyAstronauts has on YouTube. It’s definitely filled with spoilers, so make sure you watch the movie first! I am so inspired with your streak of not eating after dinner! Out of curiosity (not sure if you mentioned times before), what time do you eat dinner and what time do you usually go to bed?

@19shmoo69 – Is inferno a brand of coffee? Or does it have something spicy added to it?

@baodell17724 – I really appreciate the articles you’ve been sharing. That list of what to eat after a binge has been saved for reference as there are a lot of options on the list that I enjoy. It was depressing reading the depression one, LOLs (cuz I have Binge Eating Disorder, Inattentive ADHD and Major Depressive Disorder). Sometimes I just feel like I’m screwed. Sorry I’m being a downer.

@trooworld – I gave up added oils for a couple of reasons. One is that the calories add up too fast. Second is that the oil causes inflammation and I am having a lot of pain in my ankle (the one that’s had 3 surgeries) and my knees. I was going to test it out to see if it made a difference, but unfortunately, I’m still eating too much junk food to know . Saving your fruit salad to try later – love that it has pineapple and mango! Violet is just so dang violent! LOLs sorry…had to… How sweet of you to send the blazer video to your friend. I’m sure that made her happy to see you in it and how motivating for you to see your achievement! You don’t have to tell anyone anything about your surgery that you don’t want to, you know that, right? “Hard work and commitment.” is the perfect response to anyone commenting on your weight loss (which is tacky of them anyway, unless you are super close with them).

@TeresaW2024 – I’m glad you received the card. Oh it must be so fun watching Hadley play tennis! I loved watching Hunter when she was doing travel/nationals soccer! 17 pounds is nothing to scoff at. I’d love to be down 17 pounds right now. I’m with you on getting our act together NOW. I have 1 ½ flights of steps to go up to get to my office. By the time I get to the top of the stairs, I am out of breath and my heart is beating so hard, it’s scary. I can’t live like this anymore.

@Cornanda – That book circle is awesome!

Rain, Rain Go Away! We’ve been getting hit with severe thunderstorms and temps in the 90s. Very uncomfortable. Hoping it’s milder tomorrow since it’s Byron & Brayden’s Birthday party outside at a park. There’s a splash pad, so that will be fun for all the behbehs, too. Hunter did a Thing 1 and Thing 2 theme, which I thought was hilarious since Bray turned 1 and Byron turned 2. I told her I’d watch them during the set up and clean up. I’m going to be exhausted. The party is at 2pm, so after it’s over, I’ll be taking care of Oliver, too, since Syd works at 5pm. Tonight I’m relaxing with M3GAN 2.0. I will NOT take my popcorn bucket and I’ll probably just have ice water. I’m sneaking in a couple of Worthington brand vegan low fat hot dogs that have better ingredients than most – textured vegetable protein, spices and (unfortunately) a little oil. But just 80 calories each with only 2.5 grams of fat…12 grams of protein, tho!

I’m so disappointed with my weigh in. My dopamine chasing has really gotten out of hand – both with food and buying things again. I’m the highest I’ve ever been. Can’t blame anyone but myself. I’ve got to get focused. Just walking up the 1 ½ flight of stairs at work has me breathless, but scarier is how hard my heart is beating when I get to the top. Takes a good solid 3 to 4 minutes for my heart to get back to normal. I don’t have a good game plan yet, but I’m going to work on it tonight.

    Stay hydrated, my friends!

2025 is MY year! (hopefully, lols)

@askewcr Hang in there ! Next week will be better.

@TeresaW2024 I'm going to post the recipe for the soup (it's behind a paywall). I know @vegan4lyfe2012 would probably be interested ! We do have to keep plugging along! Next week will be better. Hahaha I made a brooch of that pic of Violet using this ornate mini frame, it's really cute! That sounds like a great program. Good job with eating yesterday! Yeah I do the same thing with Cheez-Its lol. Good luck with the shower. I love the pics of Maggie!

@baodell17724 No , not surprising. Diets are depressing! Mindful eating is so good but kind of hard to do (at least for me). Thanks for the article.

Hi all. Just wanted to pop in and share this article with you. It lists 10 weight loss signs you may not have thought to look out for. I found it interesting: https://www.healthline.com/health/weight-loss/signs-of-weight-loss

And here's the recipe for the soup I am making today:

Summer Corn and Vegetable Soup (serves 4)

1⁄4 cup extra-virgin olive oil plus extra for serving
    1 onion chopped fine
2 carrots peeled and chopped fine
1 1⁄2 teaspoons table salt divided
    1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
1 (10-ounce) can Ro-Tel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies
3 ears corn, kernels cut from cobs, cobs reserved
1 zucchini cut into ½-inch pieces
4 ounces green beans trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
    1⁄2 cup chopped fresh basil

If the corn cobs are too hot in step 3, use a clean kitchen towel to hold them steady while you scrape. Serve with lots of buttered crusty bread or cornbread.

Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add onion, carrots, 1 teaspoon salt, and pepper and cook until browned, 5 to 8 minutes. Stir in broth, tomatoes and their juice, and corn cobs and bring to simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until vegetables are tender and soup is slightly thickened,
20 to 30 minutes.

Remove corn cobs and set aside to cool. Increase heat to medium. Stir corn kernels, zucchini, green beans, and remaining ½ teaspoon salt into soup and cook until vegetables are tender, 5 to 8 minutes.

Use back of knife to scrape pulp from reserved corn cobs; discard cobs. Stir corn pulp and basil into soup. Measure out 1 cup soup into blender and process until smooth, about 1 minute. Stir puree back into soup and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve, drizzling with extra oil.

    Tracked yesterday? Yes
