@laurelfit57 - The comment about not knowing what is in food when you are out and about made total sense, even with the typo. I avoid eating in most restaurants because of that. We do have a local smoothie and juice chain whose ingredients I am confident in. I can actually see what they put in, which is nice. Mostly I figure places will add sugar, salt and fat to make things tastier than I would at home. My husband is now being very careful about what oils he eats, and that has made us careful, too.

@micaroo4 - Are you a standup comic in real life? A poet? I love your way with words! "Log it before you hog it!" Hehehehe

@TeresaW2024- Great weigh-in! Way to go, taking care of yourself!

I am both sympathetic with the comments about heat, and a bit envious! It’s hotter where I am. I did a big walk recently where the temp was over 100 by the time I came inside. I have acclimated to 90s (it was 93 when I started) but was ready to slow down when it hit 100. I guess it’s all what you have acclimated to. We had a bout of early heat this year, a bounce from 80s straight to over 100, and were getting warnings about exercise at the time because nobody would have acclimated yet.

    @bobboyardee- Happy Pride Month!

@trooworld - Thank you! I was excited to see the needle move. I did stand on the scale again this morning to see if I was still in that ballpark today, and I was. Phew. Also, thanks for the reminder about Leslie Sansone! I haven’t done one of those in a while. I need to add those back to the rotation!

I am reminded that I need to do more with upper body. I need to go shopping for some weights videos.

General note: When I check in on Slimpossibles in the morning, I am at my home office desk. I love it partly for the birdwatching. This morning’s treat was seeing a red-shouldered hawk. Thjey are beautiful birds, with longish, barred tail feathers. This one landed in the cedar tree right in front of my window and caused a stir. It tried hopping over to the smaller cedar and was then chased away by several blue jays! I knew something big was visiting the yard some mornings, but this is the first time I got a good enough view to be certain of an ID. Here's a picture, with an angle similar to what I saw from my window.

Yesterday was a pretty good day! I made a food plan for the week and went shopping. Since it was late in the day, I bought a bag of shredded cabbage and carrots as a shortcut to make a large salad. I got in a long walk, some stairstepping and a little bit of resistance work (just 10 min: I want to do a little more today). I was also proud that I went through and graded/evaluated a bunch of items for donation, made a record, and got everything taken over to Goodwill.

My new audiobook for walking is Babel by R.F. Kuang. I am looking more to more of it after I finish my coffee. So far, it's a really engaging alternate history.

    Hi 👋

Lol... it got a lot hotter than I thought it was supposed to yesterday. I spent another day sitting under the fan… darn near 90 is just to hot for me. Today, the say, low 80's, but we'll see if they make a liar out of me again.

PT this morning, and then I don't know?

Tomorrow, my second oldest grand beauty is graduating. I'm so excited…. The two oldest grew up so fast, I don't even know how or when it happened.… and I'm a very proud grandmother...

    Y'all have a great day 😀

What’s one food you used to think was “off-limits” that you’ve now found a healthier way to enjoy? A donut. No, wait, there's absolutely no healthy way to enjoy a donut. Still off-limits. Some foods are just not worth it.

@trooworld i'm so glad you're listening to your body ! There are some ladies at the gym who work out 5 to 7 days a week, two or three classes each day. They don't give their bodies a chance to rest and then they end up injured and are out for a couple of months. It's good to keep moving, you can do that while your body is resting, you are playing it smart!

@AustinRuadain I honestly don't eat out a ton . Saturday I left my house at 8:30, not getting home until seven. I was at soccer tournaments and an agility match all day, so was dependent on the food trucks.  I sure agree with you on the added sugar salt and fats. Sunday was soccer tournament, Agility match and a bridal shower. I was  just home long enough for a quick shower and get into something decent for the shower. I must admit, I did have a strawberry tart at the shower, it was delicious!

It sounds like you have an absolutely lovely place to check in, that hawk sounds gorgeous! Sounds like you had a great day yesterday.

@DrewsAnna huge congratulations on your grand beauty's graduation !

It was a pretty productive day. I went to the gym and did a barbell class, I upped the weights a little bit, I can feel the stiffness starting to set in already. Definitely going to have a hot soak tonight before I go to bed lol. There are so many fires all over our province that it was really very smoky here today. I take the dogs out for a good walk early in the morning and then a run in a field in the afternoon. When we went out at six this morning there was no smoke at all but when I got out from the gym it was so smoky!! I took Ty to daycare for half a day to get her worn out so I wouldn't have to think about trying to battle that smoke in the afternoon. I do voice to text to make a note here, Ty is not impressed. Ty would like me just to be quiet so she can just go to sleep🤣. We don't have any agility classes this week as our coach is teaching in Alaska :-). I am going to get in an extra weight class on Thursday. I bought a new toy at Costco. It makes soft serve ice cream, sorbet, slushies etc.   I used frozen organic chunks of mango from Costco with a little bit of Splenda and lemon juice. It has made the most delicious sorbet!!  I've got some on the go with frozen sliced strawberries, I hope it's as good as the mango. I am definitely getting the look from Ty so I am going to close off, hope everybody had a great day!

Still in range and we've been eating a lot of take out food. I've been suffering from random extreme tummy cramps I cannot do anything when they strike, and afterwords I feel really weak. I'll talk to my doctor about it next time I see him. Maybe I have a new food allergy. I recently added nuts to my diet maybe that is the cause. I'll stop eating them and see if it makes a difference.

We are taking the Trike back on Thursday, I have a doctor's appointment in the morning with the Rheumatologist for my three-month checkup. I forgot to get the blood work done on Friday, so I went on Monday and today we got the results. Just in time. I found a new Trike I want to buy but they need to work with our local bike shop. I hope they will.

@trooworld - My favorite piece of gym equipment is the recumbent bike. We also have more space to use our weight lifting equipment, which is nice. Wow! your pictures tell the story of your hard work this year—→ surgery, new eating habits, and now new exercise habits- the new era of you! You look terrific!

@AustinRuadhain - Ooooh that's a lotta walking! Go you! Sounds like a nice day with your son. I love watching birds and salad shortcuts are definitely a good idea.

@TeresaW2024 - putting Joe first is exactly what you should be doing. Good for you sticking to your guns on that.

@DrewsAnna - Hope your weather cools down and you can get back to tracking. Congrats on your graduate- time flies

@bobboyardee - 23 days! Go you! And you did a partial intro- wow! 😃

@vegan4lyfe2012 - DH just got himself a pair of transition readers from Amazon for $17, might work for you. They eliminated that sick feeling you get when you look up from your reading with a pair of readers on. Glad your surgery went well.

@Katmary71 - sounds like a good day with your plants. Whatever happened with the community garden mystery? Did I miss it?

@micaroo4 - you are my hero on consistency and you are right, there is no healthy way to eat a donut

@laurelfit57 - that sounds like a nice weekend, but busy and some time to regroup will be good for you. Ty is so cute!

@FushiaKat - I hope you feel better and the trike works out for you

Does anyone have a hack for when you type something on here and weird words pop up? It must be some sort of shortcut thing- I don't even know how I'm doing it, but it's annoying. I'll be halfway through typing a word and gibberish pops up.

We made it to Wednesday people! It's leg day, Ugh…. gotta get going.

Good morning, everyone! I just read all your posts, but don't have the energy to respond. Joe is sick again, and I fear the colitis has returned. We are supposed to get blood work done at his oncologist to check his potassium, but there is a good chance I will take him to the hospital if he doesn't wake up with a marked improvement from yesterday. I feel that our life is heading down an ugly road where words like end-of-life care and hospice are looming. I don't want to leave the Slimpossibles because I care about so many of you, but I also don't want to come here only to talk about my dying husband. I might need to be here less often because the last thing I want is to bring you down when you are all here trying to live your healthiest life. Anyway, if you can send a good thought and/or a prayer my way, you know that I will more than appreciate it. 🙂

@Cornanda I don't get weird words, I do get weird spacing.

@TeresaW2024 I am so sorry for what you are going through with Joe . I really hope you don't disappear and that this can be a safe place for you to share whatever you want to share. I think about you and Joe often♥️

@trooworld I got the Gourmia . I think is similar to the ninja, but you don't have to do any freezing, you just add your ingredients and it is ready in about 30 minutes. I think the ninja one has better recipes though and I'm going to try some of those :-).  Thank you so much for sharing that video, she truly is inspiring!

The smoke is still so thick here, I hope it lifts tomorrow. We only got about 20 minutes from home when I had to turn around with the dogs, I was feeling sick from the smoke. I tried going on some of the less travelled paths, so beautiful and I was trying to get a picture of the dogs. There were so many birds that there was no way I could get a picture without them looking up🤣. I love Wednesdays, I don't have either Agility or the gym. I did some running around, meal prep and puttering around the house.

Hope everybody had a great day!

@TeresaW2024 if this was a strict fitness/ weight loss siren then I could see easing off. The truth is there’s so much family and friends in this slimpossible group that you should feel comfortable to share every day about Joe. I most definitely will be praying for Joe and you. In fact I’ll ask my church family to pray as well.

@laurelfit57 Awe I love the pic of the dogs doing their birdwatching! Such cuties!! Thank you, I feel this is a safe place too. ❣️

@19shmoo69 Thank you! I really appreciate your prayers and adding me to your church’s prayer list is so kind. Lord, knows we need all we can get! 😕

@Cornanda Thank you, sweet friend! 😘

@trooworld That woman in the video is so inspiring! I love that it’s never too late to change our bodies and become strong and fit. I can’t imagine how your surgeon could be anything but thrilled at your progress! Thank you! I would hate to leave and miss watching your transformation. 😍

Good morning, friends! Thank you all for your kind words and for encouraging me that I don’t need to leave. Otherwise, I would be so bummed and even more lonely. We stayed out of the hospital and got him fluids from his oncologist and another Rx for Potassium. I barely got him to eat or drink yesterday, which is soooo frustrating! Hopefully, he will be better today, but who the heck knows! I am dreading his son’s visit next week so much, and I have to call him and tell him the cold, hard facts on what they are walking into. My efforts to get Joe to rebound are going in the wrong direction, and this visit is the last thing we need. Anyway, I did well with my eating yesterday, so that is a win. ☺️

    Hi 👋

Graduation no. 2 is behind in the books, there's only 9 left, 😅😅😅 it was great hanging with my daughter and some of the grands yesterday.

    My graduate

    20250611_154239.jpg

Today is my oldest daughter birthday and we will be going out to dinner. She's going39 today, gosh, I can't believe it.

    20250611_154314.jpg

I have been doing alright with my food choices. I have to say, it's hard trying to get 100 grams of protein and 25 grams of fiber. Especially the fiber.

Exercise has been kind of hard because of my knee, but I'm getting some strength training at pt.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

@Cornanda I heard about a new thing when taking pictures . You hold your phone upside down, rest it on the ground and sort of tilt it up to take the pictures. That's what I was trying to do with the dogs lol I will try it again when quite as many distractions.

@trooworld little birds chirping right above them kept them very distracted ! That's funny that your dogs like fruits and veggies, mine are the same! Favourite fruit or both is watermelon, Ty's favourite veggie is carrots and Vannie's clear winner is broccoli:).

I always find it crazy when I actually weigh food, the difference to what I thought. It sounds like you are very close though! You are doing so amazing!!

@TeresaW2024 i'm really glad that you did not have to take Joe to the hospital but I'm sorry that you are struggling so hard still . I can't imagine having to tell Joe's son the hard news.  You are doing amazing, all the stress you are under and you have a good eating day to boot! Many hugs to you♥️

@DrewsAnna many congratulations on graduation number two !. Looks like it was a super fun day. Walk away from the Nutella🤣🤣🤣

It was a cloudy day that kind of drizzled all day often on, but no wind and no smoke! Got the dogs out for their regular big walk first thing this morning before I went to the gym. I did a weightlifting class with an instructor that I haven't done in a couple of years. She was tough! My legs and arms were ready to take on more weights, my back did not agree. I was definitely careful but I still came home and soaked in a hot tub with Epsom salts and took a Robax. It feels good to be back at the gym and actually have the energy to enjoy the classes. I am going to do a shorter spin class tomorrow and then a hot Yin class after that. I do love the hot Yin class, it is supposed to be just gentle stretches, some instructors get very enthusiastic. I am not that stretchy so if they are getting too crazy I just lay there in Shavasana and enjoy the heat🤣

Hope everybody had a great day!

@askewcr You went and got it, great weigh in!

@micaroo4 I love “log it before you hog it” LOL! Should we do a Log IT Before You Hog It challenge?!

@trooworld Dragonfuit is doing well but it needs a trellis to grow and I’m going to grow it at The Grange which will probably happen in fall. I love hearing how much easlier clipping and doing your nails are! I’m sure your doctor will be thrilled with your progress!

WHAT IS ONE FOOD YOU USED TO THINK WAS OFF LIMITS THAT YOU’VE NOW FOUND A HEALTHIER WAY TO ENJOY? That’s a hard one to answer butter and rice maybe? Hm now that I think of it I’d say chocolate, I’ve come to enjoy dark chocolate before and look for healthier options.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I deleted your weigh in so tomorrow’s will be this week’s. Thanks!

@AustinRuadhain I think we have the same temps I’m grateful when it’s not over 100! Wow that red-shoudered hawk is beautiful!

@DrewsAnna Congratulations to your grand beauty! Congratulations at hitting 153!

@laurelfit57 Yikes I hope the fires are out soon. Oh your toy from Costco sounds awesome! What is the name of it? Is it the NinjaCreami? I have a Yonanas I’ve borrowed from my SIL for a few years and you just reminded me of it. The pups are too cute watching birds!

@FushiaKat I hope you’re able to get to the bottom of your tummy cramps that sounds awful. I hope your Rheumatology appointment goes well. I hope you’re able to get the new trike!

@Cornanda I love the recumbent bike too I’m saving mine in case I can ever use it again! Community garden it sounds like it’s squirrels but I’m still skeptical. I’m curious what jibberish is popping up!

@TeresaW2024 Oh no I’m so sorry to hear Joe’s not feeling well. Don’t you leave Slimpossibles we all want you here when you can be. Sending prayers up for you and Joe. This group is so much more than diet and fitness we’ve all become good friends and can talk about so much more. I really missed you when you were gone! You come on when you can and talk about whatever you want, I know the gang is going to tell you the same. I’ve felt that way talking about my pain that I’m bringing people down. If you’re at a point where you can’t weigh in we can put you on the Support Team so you aren’t dropped but please come on how much or little you want and talk about anything and everything you’d like.

Hi gang! Last couple of days have been busy! I got my foster litter today they're so cute but pretty scared, it's their first day away from their mom and the other half of the litter. My brother's cat was dropped off today too. My nephew stopped by to bring his cat over while the family is out-of-town so I have 6 cats in the house right now! My nephew helped me hammer some T posts in to make my trellises. My nephew graduated from middle school Tuesday, so proud of him. Have a great Friday friends.

I did a mid-week weigh-in this morning, and ny number was up. I think I need to be eating less fruit and more vegetables. Onwards!

    Health plans for Friday:

    • 🟡 Eating window 11AM - 7 PM (so far, so good)
    • ⚪ Lunch: beans and greens
    • ⚪ Dinner: large salad
    • ⚪ Take my vitamins (after lunch and dinner)
    • ⚪ Just one serving of fruit today
    • ⚪ Walk at least 51 minutes (working on a Garmin badge that has me increase walk by 5 min/day)
    • ⚪ Strength training (15+ min)
    • ⚪ Yoga (15+ min)
    • ⚪ Some stair stepping or a fitness video (Leslie Sansone?)

@AustinRuadhain – That hawk is amazing! I hope your food plan for the week is going good.

@DrewsAnna – Congrats to your grandbeauty!!!

@laurelfit57 – The puppers are such cuties! Puttering is awesome.

@Cornanda – I had transitions as my first pair of bifocals a few years back and hated them. They gave me a headache. But I did look at the regular bifocals on there and got a couple pairs for $20. They were delivered yesterday, so I’m still getting used to them. I had my 1 week follow up yesterday and the doctor said to wait 3 months before my next regular eye exam and my eye should be settled by then. So, long story short (too late), these will do for the time being. Thanks for mentioning Amazon cuz I hadn’t even thought of it!

@TeresaW2024 – Please continue to lean on us for support. I am praying for Joe and for you. We are here throughout your journey – good and sad. I’m giving you a super big hug right now!

@Katmary71 – Pictures of the kitties!!!!!!

Ugh. Huge increase with my weigh in today. I was ruminating and realized I’ve had a lot of high sodium foods the last few days and not as many veggies and fruits as usual. I bought groceries last night and only picked up a few processed items, so I’ll be sure to keep my servings of those in check. Tanking up on water as usual (~100 oz per day), so hopefully my body will purge the excess water weight. There’s a vegan influencer that I’ve been following for several years, High Carb Hannah. She recently published an e-book, “Master Your Mind”, that incorporates small habits (she refers to the Atomic Habits book) and discipline. Since she’s vegan, I decided to purchase it. I’m reading it slowly so I can absorb as much as possible.

On an exciting note, Oliver said “Grammy” for the first time yesterday and Byron said it for the first time today! The most beautiful sounds to my ears! I keep focusing on their cute little faces (and the granddaughters, too) to remember that they are my “why”!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday! I’m off to make my lunch – Rancho Gordo Yellow Eye beans, jasmine rice and green beans topped with some creamy avocado and I’ll wash it down with my Tangerine Orange cold infusion 😊 I’m thinking dinner will be White Chik’n Chili (soy curls, beans and salsa with some extra onion thrown in…super easy). What is everyone else eating today?

    2025 is MY year!
