@TeresaW2024 if this was a strict fitness/ weight loss siren then I could see easing off. The truth is there’s so much family and friends in this slimpossible group that you should feel comfortable to share every day about Joe. I most definitely will be praying for Joe and you. In fact I’ll ask my church family to pray as well.

@TeresaW2024 - I echo what @19shmoo69 said. He said it well. You don't have to be an every day poster. We are here for you when you want to talk. You will remain in my thoughts (as you often are) and here is a pile of HUGS!

@laurelfit57 - what a cute pic of your dogs. I think you are a talented photographer

@DrewsAnna Congrats on the loss and the low number !

@laurelfit57 Ah , that's really nice that you don't have to freeze anything, I have to admit that's a barrier to using it. Yes, she is amazing! Wow, I'm sorry about the fires and smoke. I hope today is better. It's probably good that you turned around. I'm glad you had a good Weds. That's a really cute picture, it's funny how they are both looking in the same area!

Hi all. Traffic has been light all week, I think because school is out and so the teachers and college kids aren't on the road. Since I got home early, I took one of my dogs for a longer walk. She didn't want to go for a longer walk, but I forced her lol. She wanted to get back to my husband who doles out treats that time of day (pieces of fruits and veggies). Today, I have my 6-month appointment with the surgeon. Hopefully, he is pleased with my progress. I am. Although I did realize something: I have been eating too much at my meals...I looked back through the eating instructions yesterday and it says no more than 4-6 oz per meal, half of that protein. I started weighing my recipe portions and the salad I ate the other night was 7 oz and the portion of food I had last night was about 7 oz (but I didn't eat it all). So, not too bad but I do need to reel it in a bit. I'm still losing so it must be pretty close.

    Tracked yesterday? Yes

@Cornanda as you can tell I get weird words. I’m not sure where the word siren came from in my previous post because it should’ve been site. Smh

@laurelfit57 Awe I love the pic of the dogs doing their birdwatching! Such cuties!! Thank you, I feel this is a safe place too. ❣️

@19shmoo69 Thank you! I really appreciate your prayers and adding me to your church’s prayer list is so kind. Lord, knows we need all we can get! 😕

@Cornanda Thank you, sweet friend! 😘

@trooworld That woman in the video is so inspiring! I love that it’s never too late to change our bodies and become strong and fit. I can’t imagine how your surgeon could be anything but thrilled at your progress! Thank you! I would hate to leave and miss watching your transformation. 😍

Good morning, friends! Thank you all for your kind words and for encouraging me that I don’t need to leave. Otherwise, I would be so bummed and even more lonely. We stayed out of the hospital and got him fluids from his oncologist and another Rx for Potassium. I barely got him to eat or drink yesterday, which is soooo frustrating! Hopefully, he will be better today, but who the heck knows! I am dreading his son’s visit next week so much, and I have to call him and tell him the cold, hard facts on what they are walking into. My efforts to get Joe to rebound are going in the wrong direction, and this visit is the last thing we need. Anyway, I did well with my eating yesterday, so that is a win. ☺️

    Hi 👋

Graduation no. 2 is behind in the books, there's only 9 left, 😅😅😅 it was great hanging with my daughter and some of the grands yesterday.

    My graduate

    20250611_154239.jpg

Today is my oldest daughter birthday and we will be going out to dinner. She's going39 today, gosh, I can't believe it.

    20250611_154314.jpg

I have been doing alright with my food choices. I have to say, it's hard trying to get 100 grams of protein and 25 grams of fiber. Especially the fiber.

Exercise has been kind of hard because of my knee, but I'm getting some strength training at pt.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

@Cornanda I heard about a new thing when taking pictures . You hold your phone upside down, rest it on the ground and sort of tilt it up to take the pictures. That's what I was trying to do with the dogs lol I will try it again when quite as many distractions.

@trooworld little birds chirping right above them kept them very distracted ! That's funny that your dogs like fruits and veggies, mine are the same! Favourite fruit or both is watermelon, Ty's favourite veggie is carrots and Vannie's clear winner is broccoli:).

I always find it crazy when I actually weigh food, the difference to what I thought. It sounds like you are very close though! You are doing so amazing!!

@TeresaW2024 i'm really glad that you did not have to take Joe to the hospital but I'm sorry that you are struggling so hard still . I can't imagine having to tell Joe's son the hard news.  You are doing amazing, all the stress you are under and you have a good eating day to boot! Many hugs to you♥️

@DrewsAnna many congratulations on graduation number two !. Looks like it was a super fun day. Walk away from the Nutella🤣🤣🤣

It was a cloudy day that kind of drizzled all day often on, but no wind and no smoke! Got the dogs out for their regular big walk first thing this morning before I went to the gym. I did a weightlifting class with an instructor that I haven't done in a couple of years. She was tough! My legs and arms were ready to take on more weights, my back did not agree. I was definitely careful but I still came home and soaked in a hot tub with Epsom salts and took a Robax. It feels good to be back at the gym and actually have the energy to enjoy the classes. I am going to do a shorter spin class tomorrow and then a hot Yin class after that. I do love the hot Yin class, it is supposed to be just gentle stretches, some instructors get very enthusiastic. I am not that stretchy so if they are getting too crazy I just lay there in Shavasana and enjoy the heat🤣

Hope everybody had a great day!

@askewcr You went and got it, great weigh in!

@micaroo4 I love “log it before you hog it” LOL! Should we do a Log IT Before You Hog It challenge?!

@trooworld Dragonfuit is doing well but it needs a trellis to grow and I’m going to grow it at The Grange which will probably happen in fall. I love hearing how much easlier clipping and doing your nails are! I’m sure your doctor will be thrilled with your progress!

WHAT IS ONE FOOD YOU USED TO THINK WAS OFF LIMITS THAT YOU’VE NOW FOUND A HEALTHIER WAY TO ENJOY? That’s a hard one to answer butter and rice maybe? Hm now that I think of it I’d say chocolate, I’ve come to enjoy dark chocolate before and look for healthier options.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I deleted your weigh in so tomorrow’s will be this week’s. Thanks!

@AustinRuadhain I think we have the same temps I’m grateful when it’s not over 100! Wow that red-shoudered hawk is beautiful!

@DrewsAnna Congratulations to your grand beauty! Congratulations at hitting 153!

@laurelfit57 Yikes I hope the fires are out soon. Oh your toy from Costco sounds awesome! What is the name of it? Is it the NinjaCreami? I have a Yonanas I’ve borrowed from my SIL for a few years and you just reminded me of it. The pups are too cute watching birds!

@FushiaKat I hope you’re able to get to the bottom of your tummy cramps that sounds awful. I hope your Rheumatology appointment goes well. I hope you’re able to get the new trike!

@Cornanda I love the recumbent bike too I’m saving mine in case I can ever use it again! Community garden it sounds like it’s squirrels but I’m still skeptical. I’m curious what jibberish is popping up!

@TeresaW2024 Oh no I’m so sorry to hear Joe’s not feeling well. Don’t you leave Slimpossibles we all want you here when you can be. Sending prayers up for you and Joe. This group is so much more than diet and fitness we’ve all become good friends and can talk about so much more. I really missed you when you were gone! You come on when you can and talk about whatever you want, I know the gang is going to tell you the same. I’ve felt that way talking about my pain that I’m bringing people down. If you’re at a point where you can’t weigh in we can put you on the Support Team so you aren’t dropped but please come on how much or little you want and talk about anything and everything you’d like.

Hi gang! Last couple of days have been busy! I got my foster litter today they're so cute but pretty scared, it's their first day away from their mom and the other half of the litter. My brother's cat was dropped off today too. My nephew stopped by to bring his cat over while the family is out-of-town so I have 6 cats in the house right now! My nephew helped me hammer some T posts in to make my trellises. My nephew graduated from middle school Tuesday, so proud of him. Have a great Friday friends.

@TeresaW2024 She is amazing , isn't she? My surgeon was happy, yes! I wouldn't have it any other way but for you to stay so we can support you through this time in your life. I hope today is a better day for dear Joe. Good job with eating despite the stress. Big HUGS.

@baodell17724 Interesting article . I try to incorporate healthy carbs like farro, quinoa, buckwheat (groats) when I can. I am also trying to increase my fruit intake.

@DrewsAnna Congrats to your granddaughter !

@laurelfit57 Hahahaha ! Yes, they love fruits and veggies. Except Daisy doesn't like bananas for some reason. Violet loves everything. My dogs love carrots and watermelon. I don't know if Daisy likes broccoli but I know Violet does. Thank you, I am going to weigh my food from here on out! I'm glad there was no wind or smoke yesterday and that you got the dogs out. Good job with listening to your body at the class. I hope you enjoy the hot Yin class, my favorite part of yoga is the Shavasana! LOL

@askewcr Congrats on the loss !

@Katmary71 Ah I see . I'm glad it's doing well. Thank you, he was happy! 6 cats! Can I officially call you a cat lady now? :) I can't wait to see pics of the kittens. Congrats to your nephew!

@Cornanda Congrats on the loss !

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: It's Friday the 13th! Do you have any superstitions?
My MIL and SIL are very superstitious. Their family is from Louisiana so that may explain it. For instance, don't ever put your purse on the floor or you won't ever have any money. They honestly believe this stuff. Me, I can't think of any superstition that I believe in.

Hello all. I had my 6-month checkup and it went pretty well. He is pleased with my weight loss and asked what my goal was. I told him to get down to 155/165 lb range and he said that is totally doable within the 1 year period. That's about 30-40 more lbs. He is having me double my iron supplement as my iron is lower than it should be. He wants me to do aerobic exercise where I am slightly out of breath at least two days a week and weight train two days a week. So, walking the dogs isn't going to cut it. I guess I'll do YouTube videos, hike, or water aerobics. For dinner, I made myself Buffalo Chicken Salad, which is served in a lettuce wrap. It's a Skinnytaste recipe. I used canned chicken breast and it was super easy to make and pretty good. I would make it again. I maintained this week: I lost 0.2 lbs, which is okay I guess. I am disappointed. My muscles are probably retaining water from starting to lift. Speaking of, tonight is a gym night.

    Tracked yesterday? Yes

I did a mid-week weigh-in this morning, and ny number was up. I think I need to be eating less fruit and more vegetables. Onwards!

    • ⚪ Strength training (15+ min)
    • ⚪ Yoga (15+ min)
    • ⚪ Some stair stepping or a fitness video (Leslie Sansone?)

@AustinRuadhain – That hawk is amazing! I hope your food plan for the week is going good.

@DrewsAnna – Congrats to your grandbeauty!!!

@laurelfit57 – The puppers are such cuties! Puttering is awesome.

@Cornanda – I had transitions as my first pair of bifocals a few years back and hated them. They gave me a headache. But I did look at the regular bifocals on there and got a couple pairs for $20. They were delivered yesterday, so I’m still getting used to them. I had my 1 week follow up yesterday and the doctor said to wait 3 months before my next regular eye exam and my eye should be settled by then. So, long story short (too late), these will do for the time being. Thanks for mentioning Amazon cuz I hadn’t even thought of it!

@TeresaW2024 – Please continue to lean on us for support. I am praying for Joe and for you. We are here throughout your journey – good and sad. I’m giving you a super big hug right now!

@Katmary71 – Pictures of the kitties!!!!!!

Ugh. Huge increase with my weigh in today. I was ruminating and realized I’ve had a lot of high sodium foods the last few days and not as many veggies and fruits as usual. I bought groceries last night and only picked up a few processed items, so I’ll be sure to keep my servings of those in check. Tanking up on water as usual (~100 oz per day), so hopefully my body will purge the excess water weight. There’s a vegan influencer that I’ve been following for several years, High Carb Hannah. She recently published an e-book, “Master Your Mind”, that incorporates small habits (she refers to the Atomic Habits book) and discipline. Since she’s vegan, I decided to purchase it. I’m reading it slowly so I can absorb as much as possible.

On an exciting note, Oliver said “Grammy” for the first time yesterday and Byron said it for the first time today! The most beautiful sounds to my ears! I keep focusing on their cute little faces (and the granddaughters, too) to remember that they are my “why”!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday! I’m off to make my lunch – Rancho Gordo Yellow Eye beans, jasmine rice and green beans topped with some creamy avocado and I’ll wash it down with my Tangerine Orange cold infusion 😊 I’m thinking dinner will be White Chik’n Chili (soy curls, beans and salsa with some extra onion thrown in…super easy). What is everyone else eating today?

    2025 is MY year!

    Hi 👋

Dinner was awesome last night. We went to Fujiyama steakhouse and it's always a good time.

Today, I have to get back on track, although I have plenty of leftovers from last night. I'm sure hubby will help with those. Lol… and stay away from the Nutella 😅😅

I'm so happy I get to stay home today. I'm not sure what I'll get into, but there's always something lol....

SUPERSTITIOUS? Yes a little, more like it stands out in my mind not to step on a crack or I cringed back when we had a feed and someone burned 666 calories (I always did something to burn a few more or eat something else so I didn't have that).

Here's the kittens, they were super scared yesterday and were clinging to each other as they'd just been taken from their mom and siblings, right now they're making a ton of noise in the bathroom so I better check on them! I tried my micro current to calm them down yesterday (put it on alpha which takes you out of fight-or-flight) and it made a huge difference. The calico is a girl and the orange and gray tabby are boys. She's definitely the boss I brought in Temptation treats and she would shove the boy's faces away so she could eat them first!

@baodell17724 This is the first time I’m hearing the term “fibermaxxing”! I have tried to add more here and there but am not eating most grains because of gluten or another inflammatory reasons. I do good with beans, sweet potatoes, and winter squash. I never thought of dragon fruit as having a lot of fiber how fascinating!

@trooworld Yes you can call me a cat lady!! Yay I’m so glad to hear your appointment went so well! I think you can cover that with exercise especially if the traffic keeps giving you time to go to the gym. That chicken salad looks delicious! I don’t know if I have Frank’s Hot Sauce I’ll see if I have anything similar I can use. Hang in there it IS possible to hold onto water lifting weights so maybe next week show the loss.

@AustinRuadhain The woman who runs the rescue group was just saying that about black cats being harder to adopt. I’m not sure why I’ve loved all the black cats I’ve known! When I got my guys I was looking for a black cat but they didn’t have any at the time. Yours Is beautiful! Love how you evaluated why your weigh in was higher than you expected and dealt with it in a factual way wtg!

@vegan4lyfe2012 I’d love to hear any good tips you learn from High Carb Hannah’s book. Yay on both Oliver and Byron calling you grammy that’s so awesome! Yum your meals sound awesome. My stomach is shaky tonight so I skipped dinner (which I never do), earlier I had beef and broccoli with udon noodles.

@DrewsAnna Oh that steakhouse sounds amazing! Hope you have a wonderful time at home today, watch out for Nutella and leftovers! It’s kind of embarrassing but I can’t have peanut butter in the house at all.

Hi gang! I made about 30 basil bundles at the farm today and got all the flowers trimmed. I wasn’t feeling good when I got home so I took a nap and decided to stay home tonight (was going to a concert in the park event). The kittens are still nervous around me but are playing and being silly now which is fun to watch, I’m bribing them with Temptation treats, lickables, and toys. The little gray kitty is a lot like Asher he’s always shoved to the back and last one to get stuff but he loves toys and playing! My cats got a little peek at them and don’t know what to do. I’m hoping to get my trellises wrapped up this weekend my oldest nephew got the 6 foot T posts in for me so I just need the energy to deal with all the fencing. Might do a morning farmer’s market run too. Have a great Saturday everyone!

@Katmary71 oh my word, those kittens are way way way too cute!!

This is a super quick check-in I had a busy day, I did not eat nearly enough earlier in the day and afraid I overdid it tonight. Grandkids are sleeping over and can I just say… They are not getting along… It has been a very long evening🤣. I am going on a down syndrome walk tomorrow morning, if the weather is OK I will bring Ty , but they are forecasting rain. My bonus daughter is doing a hoop performance tomorrow evening. I probably won't check in until Sunday. Hope everybody has a terrific weekend!

Absolutely over the moon with this weeks results as I’m into the next stone bracket 😁 I set my scales to weigh in st and lb then switch them back to lbs to track on here as I find the milestones of dropping into the next stone bracket really motivates me (plus it double checks the scales are accurate if the weights always match lol) not sure if it’s a uk thing as mainly see just lbs on here but it gives me mini targets to lose stone by stone lol

Sorry to read some of the challenges people are facing, sending you love and cwtches!
I love reading all your updates and seeing the cute pet pics, hoping to chat more this week, not sure if it’s the time difference or I’m just rubbish at keeping up with the chat lol

Hope everyone has a lush weekend!
