2 weeks done. I did have a hiccup on Sunday but managed to stick to the rules even tho it was ugly. That's the whole point right? If we only stuck to things when it was going well we would never progress.

    Living in the Fast(ing) Lane

July 14 - 16.5 hours. I did get a bit dizzy /lightheaded, although that may have been that I needed electrolytes. I felt better after I took some electrolytes. Still, I decided to eat instead of pushing the fast longer.

July 15 - 18.5 hours. Met up with my Curves ladies and ran a million errands, so I was pretty beat by the time. I was so ready to eat lunch.

Hi @learningmoments the booking of appointments I was inspired by @summerskier last month...im a huge procrastinator lol. Acv was something i focused on last month but a habit I did religiously 5 years ago. Daily Tracking and daily weighing of food and myself are my huge areas of focus atm...they are hardest for me.... managing work life balance also another priority.... I hve been doing my list on and for many years. But wen life gets in the way some might drop off. So check list helps me remember wats important and wat I know makes me feel good. I probably hve too much on my list lol but will see how it goes Xox

Wow just had a read of everyones posts and you guys are all doing great.

@77tes love that u are sticking to fasting. Wat electrolytes do u use?

@learningmoments stress is a awesome habit to work on it reminded me and inspired me to add it to my list so thank u!!!! Good luck with it...

@SummerSkier love ur weight loss strategy so simple!

@hccolmam232 weight training such a good one to focus on. I always feel like a million bucks wen I stick to my 3 a week. Things are way more tonned too.

@snowshoe072 love wen the scale dips down right. Congrats. Hate those fluctuations...

@TerriRichardson112 flexibility is so important! Great goal. Xo

@donna25trinity I agree. I have a good list of habits that are habits, but when life gets busy, they get slack. That is where I am now. That's why I am doing observation becuase I wasn't sure how to get them back on track. Has the reminder list helped clean them up? Does it ever make you feel bad that they are a struggle to get do? It probably would be great to have that checklist just for a baseline of how often they are getting done. Also, it would be encouraging to see some habits are still really strong. Sometimes I think I am doing something often/not often when in reality it is more/less often than I THINK I am doing. If I make a long list, I never get to the checking off what I did. I guess you guys came along on my mind ramble. Sorry. I appreciate any feedback on any of this from you guys.

Yesterday was crazy. Very busy day. I had to take my puppy in for an X-ray because she swallowed part of her toothbrush. Fortunately, everything should come out alright. 😉🤣

    IMG_4152.jpeg

@donna25trinity , you are doing so great. Inspired by your extra chore goal, I took advantage of the time Lucy was at the vet to give the playroom a thorough cleaning taking up the jigsaw workout matting and vacuuming (so much tracked in sand&dirt that gets into the seams).

I use LMNT unflavored electrolytes. Those are the ones my daughter uses, so we had them on hand. She did a lot of research on which are best.

@Learningmoments , I was thinking about how you’ll use your observations, and it hit me that we teachers are always trying to get our students to REFLECT on the feedback we give, so that they can improve their writing. All the red ink isn’t just say what they did wrong, but where they can improve. I try to do that when I have problems. So KUDOS for observing to give yourself material to reflect on.

@77tes I am glad your puppy will be okay. That is great you got extra cleaning in the play room. Ahhh, the horrid red ink. I think the youth see it as punishment. When I was in high school, I always got marks about run on sentences. I asked how to fix it and their solution never made sense. It wasn't until college that I understood it. I am still fighting those rotten run on sentences. lol. Today I made a list of my habits. Tomorrow I will try to mark which ones I successfully do.

WOW the month is flying by .. this is harder to stick to as far as logging and weighing daily than I thought. And.. it is eye opening how much lower my TDEE is without my normal longer running. I think 50 days in to this injury I have gained 3 pounds approx which kind of pisses me off but it seems like it is a solid gain and not one of those up 2 down 2 the next day or so kind either so more work required.

I finally got my exercise done this week. Only 2 strength workouts, but that’s better than 1 or 0. The scale was very good this morning and showed a 7.4 pound loss since January. Of course, the scale will probably take half of that back next week. 😮‍💨🤣

@Learningmoments , ah I hear you on the run-ons. I also struggled with them until I discovered the semicolon. Love the list of habits. I have a ton of reminders on my phone. I love to check them off and see the list get shorter and shorter. Just this week I added a reminder for my BP meds. Since my fasting means that I often skip breakfast, my routine of taking my meds has been discombobulated.

@SummerSkier , an injury makes it so hard. When I broke my ankle, I tried to do a ton of chair workouts, but I wasn’t really burning any kind of calories. And, yes, I gained weight. But the fact that you’re doing the hard work of tracking means that it won’t sneak up on you. So, pat yourself on the back instead of kicking yourself. (Besides, you might hurt that injured foot).

I had aqua bootcamp and aquatic fitness classes. I love my swim classes. I got the other two grandkids for the weekend. I always love spending time with grandkids.

@SummerSkier It is so hard to lose when you are used to being so active. You are great at tracking so you will figure it out. Maybe an upper body cardio several times a day. I was surprised how efficient several short activities times a day are. Getting creative and think out of the box helps.

@77tes Good job on exercises and I love your attitude. I usually beat myself up instead of acknowledging it is better than nothing. Hurray for the scale doing well. I bet skipping breakfast does mess up several habits like meds. So many of my habits are triggered by my morning routine with breakfast.

thank you @Learningmoments and @77tes it is hard to stay encouraged but your words do help. I tried getting on a bike but really nothing actually burns the same as my running typically does. I am still😂😂😂 at the wisdom not to kick myself when I am down.

Ketosis means you are losing yes? Perhaps also a breath sugar free mint. I think when I was on my crazy diets long ago and was in ketosis my breath was awful. 😳🤷‍♀️ COngrats on the 7.4 pound loss since Jan!!! 💪💪💪👏👏👏

July progresses. Um yeah suspension bridges for those of us scared of heights are not so fun. I think I went on one in Colorado one time supposed to be the highest one in the country or world or something.

@SummerSkier I have always heard if you are injured, start with a stationary bike when possible. I know it isn't as much fun as your usual activity, but it will help you build. You are doing a great job! It is so hard to keep your spirits high when you aren't able to do what you usually do. I found it was really hard not to compare the injured me to the flourishing me. That only makes it worse.

@snowshoe072 That is BEAUTIFUL! I would love to go on that. I am a bit squeamish with heights, but I can manage it for beautiful places like that.

@Learningmoments , my sister does deep water aerobics a lot, and I’ve gone with her when I have visited. Such fun workouts ! Treasure those times with the grandkids! They grow up twice as fast as “regular” kids! Mine are in college now !! How did that happen?!

@SummerSkier , I love the bike, I crank it up as fast as I can go. It’s the only way I can get my heart rate up. But I’m not the fit runner that you are. Fun fact, my daughters gave me my spin bike for my birthday and I broke my ankle the next week. But they didn’t get it set up for months, so it didn’t really figure in my rehab. 🤣

My fasting app tells me I’m burning fat at 12 hours and in Ketosis after I hit the 14 hour mark, but I’m not sure that’s really true because my breath isn’t any worse than usual. After 16 hours, it says I’m experiencing autophagy, which is supposed where all the health benefits are supposed to happen. Those little prompts are very encouraging!

@snowshoe072 , What lovely photos!  Wonderful a place to hike! Yeah, I would never get my husband on a suspension bridge, he can’t even stand glass elevators!

     2 weeks of fasting done!

@77tes and @Learningmoments you are quite correct about the bike I think whenever i went to PT it was the staple they put everyone on. For leg rehab a bike and for shoulder an arm machine. I don't actually have a stationary bike or a treadmill or any gym equipment except my heavy hands.

"Fasting Inferno" 😂😂😂😂😂 too good. You make me laugh ….

I'm feeling good atm, scale always drops low wen it's the time of the month but it's a day after and it's still low so im hoping it will stay low. I think the consistency with tracking and swapping out chocolate and ice cream for yougurt with chia and oats for dessert is working. Weighing myself daily is also good as I can see progress. im def not procrastinating at home either.. just getting all the stuff done, and less time at work too. xo

@SummerSkier I did 4 years of jogging every day and loved it. the feeling u get afterwards is like no other. but it's so hard on the body too.. I started to feel clicking I'n my knees so gave it up. I do still miss it alot... I now do walking and dumbells, I also should do skipping and kick boxing on my bag but finding it hard to get that habit started. anyways I just want to say I know it's hard but there are other more low impact workouts that burn heaps of calories... hang in there, do lots of walking and u will get there cos ur so good with tracking and food is a huge component of it... u got this. xo
