I've been doing HIIT 2 days now and I think I like it better than the Walking with Leslie. I found a channel HASfit; I did the '20 Min Low Impact HIIT Workout for Beginners & Fat Loss - No Repeat, No Jumping,Full Body' and it had me sweating. Watched a new video of Emma Voysey and she said it takes 3 months to see real change from a new way of eating (I don't want to call it a diet), it is my new way of eating.

@Deeder522 Sounded like you did a lot of walking, should count for something. 😁

I made good on my promise to myself and did 15 minutes of arm traing with Fit by Mik. I followed that up with 10 minute with Improved Health.
We are looking at a string of hot and humid days again. High 80s & 90s. They are saying is the Corn sweats. I think it's just July in Michigan. Ryan does not seem to be having a bad PEM event. His gut is a little unstable and his legs are twitching a bit more. Poor guy! The day after biking, he looks at me and says " I can bike for an hour with short rest but walking up a flight of stairs and I need to sit for almost 30 mins." Bodies are weird to begin with, bodies with chronic illnesses are otherworldly.

@lois2077 Ontario! Howdy neighbor! Portugal!! That sounds exciting and your keeep up with your workouts. I'd ask you to tell me much better the food is there but I live in the US and everyones food seems better. 😂

@Elfirose33 I've never heard of a pool being treated that way. I'll have to take a look.

@lclark04957 The best workouts are the ones that are note intended to be workouts. Blueberries are a favorite in our house.

@megd44 Short strolls are my favorite strolls.

@zichab Your house is giving off "no more room at the Inn" feels. I know in all the chaos you and Dennis are enjoying the time with everyone.

@lclark04957 Picking berries and veggies will definitely work all the lower body, good for you… any you have the fruit to enjoy, win win!

I was good today and mediated upon waking, I'm just learning. Then I did a 40 minute walk on the beach, getting my grounding in. It's nice at 8am, nobody is there. I'm learning all this stuff from Emma Voysey, love her. Today is my weight day so I will start that now. Wishing everyone a GREAT Day!😊

Took a couple of rest days after the paddle. Pretty sore muscles and some fun bruises. Still did some walking so was close to step goal. Today I did one of the WAH Easy walks just to loosen up. Feeling much better. Have a doctor appointment this afternoon so hoping we can start figuring out my sleep issues.

@zichab having that many people is a major workout in itself. Enjoy your time with them. I'm number 6 of 8 so get the craziness!

Way to go with bootcamp @Elfirose33 and walking Dottie too.

@lclark04957 chasing toddlers and littles is a major calorie burner.

@lois2077 I love Ontario. Lived in Detroit for 15 years and went to a lot of places when I was there.

    Happy mid week all.

Stength training from Improved Health this morning which included a few rounds of squats with weights. Strength trainin is never the calorie burn like the walking workouts but I still get sweat going. Or maybe it was too warm in the den this morning.
They've issues a heat advisory for Thursday and I told Ryan he wasn't going to be able to leave the house for the next 3 days due to heat. Has anyone found the Utopia of tempatures yet? 🤣 These swings do a number on us.

@Elfirose33 I'm not sure why but I ready your post as walking Dottie was your cooldown routine. 🐶

@lclark04957 It's been decades since I've chased toddlers. Congrats on keeping up.

@megd44 I'd love to kayak again. I've been once and I still remember how my arms and back felt the next several days.

    Stay Cool, friends!

Today I did Tai Chi 75 minutes, mowed for 90 minutes, and walked Dottie 30 minutes.

@lois2077 Thank you:) Meditation is great, well done. Beach walking sounds divine because I'm nowhere near a beach.

@megd44 Thank you:) Great that you rested so well after the paddle. Paddling is a lot. Excellent workouts! All the best to you getting to the bottom of the sleep issue 💜

@Deeder522 Usually my walks with Dottie happen at the end of the day in the summer, so yes, it actually is a very nice cool down to the day, in general, as you mentioned. If my dad can walk her, he usually does it in the morning, and then I walk her when he can't.

20 min with Fit by Mik this morning. We did a lot of squats in this one. I'm starting to be able to go up in weight with some of the movements. 20 minutes was all I had in me this morning b/c it's already so hot out. Even with the air on and fans going I was pretty sweaty by the end.
We'll be hiding inside most of the day.

@megd44 Did you get any of the rain last night? We could see lightening from out backyard and when I checked radar it looked like the line of storms was crossing your area.

I did okay with goals, only missing 2 days this month. I start vacation the rest of the month so I won’t be tracking anything. I want to be in the moment. I do plan to be careful about my junk eating tho. I thank you all for the posts and inspiration and wish you the best in your fitness journeys and hope you finish the month strong.

My goal for July is to keep it simple, either 10,000 steps or fit in at least a 20 min Leslie workout.

I started this morning with a 1 Mile walk with Leslie and the crew. Then followed that up with a gentle 10 minute walk with Jules from Improved Fitness.
Ryan suffered a minor set back from last weeks bike ride but with the heat he stayed inside and recovered. He's doing better now, sadly our yard isn't. 😂
Today, I have 1 stop at a client who needs help setting up their new Xfinity system. Then on to a 2nd client to pick up 2 laptops for weekend migrations to new machines.
I'm not sure about other library systems but mine uses 2 online Apps. Libby & Hoopla. I found yesterday, that Hoopla's BingePass has a pass for Get HealthyU TV. This is the Chris Freytag. I visit their YouTube page every once in a while. I know she's down walking videos in the past.

@lclark04957 Enjoy your vacation. I can't wait to hear about it when you return next month.

@zichab I hope you & the house is still standing with all that activity.

@lois2077 Meditaion and Beach walking! What a great combo.

@megd44 Any luck with your sleep issues after seeing your Dr.

@Elfirose33 I've got to pull out my Tai Chi dvd and look it over again. 1 day I hope to report I made it through a session. To be honest, it's from BachBody, so I'm not sure what it will entail.

Today: Personal Training for 30 minutes done, and I walked Dottie for 25 minutes.

@Deeder522 Nice job with the squats and walks! Sorry to hear about Ryan's setback, good to hear he's doing better now. Sometimes the best I can do is just watch my Tai Chi videos while sitting in a comfy spot on the sofa, very relaxing!

@lclark04957 Well done this month! I hope you have a fun vacation!

2 Miracle Miles this morning. I rather like this program but the band work throws off the milage part.

@Elfirose33 Double Dottie Walkies! with a Step class as a bonus. 😀🥳

Not losing like I want, up .4 kg yesterday 😣… but today down the .4 kg, I guess checking every day is discouraging. Still keeping to my program, did weights and yoga today.

@Elfirose33 Good for you, keep it up!

@Deeder522 I haven't tried the Miracle Miles, I will have to check out, the bands are good for strength training… Good Work!

Last night I walked Dottie 25 minutes. And today will be my rest day (instead of Thursday) this week.

@Deeder522 Excellent! Band work is a challenge, but sooo good. Yes, Double Dottie Walkies 😅 I like that! :) Thanks!

@lois2077 Thanks! Hang in there 💜 You're doing great!

    July Goals

    Miles Tracked: 62 / 81
Apple Challenge: walk or run 2.5 miles on 14 differnt days. 12 / 14

This heat has put a dent in my milage. I had a computer delivery 1st thing this morning so my day feels all off. Hopefully I get this day realigned and get some steps in.

@lois2077 I would agree checking your weight daily is discuraging. I'd suggest maybe just weekly. Choose a day of the week and time. For example Sunday monring at 7:30AM. Once you get to see a pattern you might even be able to move to monthly weigh ins. Just remember that your clothes and stamina will be more of a sign the the scale. Especially, if your including strength training.

@Elfirose33 Enjoy your well earned rest day.

@megd44 I hope you're staying cool up there.

Well… down 1 kg today, YAY! I will try and only weigh once a week, but it's hard. I went back to IF (Intermittent fasting) the last 2 days and I think this is helping, I eat a big meal at 1pm and smaller at 6pm. Still exercising, Weights, HIIT and yoga. I also added a rest day on Sunday.

It's all an experiment, we are all different aren't we!

Thanks guys for the encouragement, I do feel good, not sluggish at all and not hungry.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Hello all. So glad to see everyone is still pushing and doing well. And sorry that I have been about out of action.

@Deeder522 we did get the big storms last week. Was fun to stand on the deck and watch them roll in. And the heat has been awful. Lots of swimming over the weekend. Did you get hit with the storms yesterday? Looked like downstate was nailed!

So, I have been missing since my doctors appointment. All my labs look really good. So the sleep thing is a bit of a mystery. It could be one of several things. Since I don't want to take any meds, she has asked me to take a month off from tracking everything. Not food, not steps, not sleep not intentional workouts. She actually wants me to pause the workouts. Movement yes, so I have had lots of beach strolls and swimming over the weekend. Her theory is that I have pushed myself way too hard when you add all of this, plus work, plus volunteering on a board of directors for another non-profit, plus all the outdoors construction and animals. Add to that abd new CEO and the governmental changes that are drastically impacting my field and she thinks this is a combo of physical and anxiety from being in a six month fight or flight world. So, I have taken off the Garmin and doing a bunch of positive things too.

Sorry such a long post. I'll probably be off MFP until September. May jump in to say hi. Keep up the excellent work and hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer.

Last night and this morning I did workouts from Improved Heath. This morning I also included a quick 5 min Barre arm workout too.

@megd44 I sure hope you pop in and say "hi" next month. Enjoy your Dr ordered month of pause.
We live in the spot where rain has forgotten. I think we got a few drop but not enough to full wet the pavement.

@lois2077 I've found that IF works for a lot of people. I try to only do liquids until lunch.

Today I did 30 minutes personal training. Also, I haven't been reporting this, but I've been hauling music gear every night this week and then playing trumpet 3 hours or so every night, too, for theater in the park, which started last Sunday. This routine will continue all the way through this coming Sunday. I won't be able to walk Dottie as much this week because of that.

@Deeder522 Thanks! It was a very nice rest day. Good workouts!

@lois2077 That looks like a good experiment, all the best! Sounds like you're doing all good things.

@megd44 I miss you already! But I completely understand too. Thank you for the update. It would be wonderful if you jumped in to say "Hi!" sometimes, whenever it's convenient for you. Take good care, rest well, and I hope good sleep comes your way soon!

This morning the computer I use for my exercises needed an update, so while that updated I hopped on the Gazelle and did 14min Elipical workout. Then followed that up with a cool down walk and strech from Leslie.
It's a bit overcast right now and we have a good chance at rain again in the next day which will usher in a lovely weekend. Finger crossed we might get Ryan back on the bike for another ride.

Today I did 45 minutes Tai Chi and then I went to one of my personal trainer's group classes, Redline, for 40 minutes, which is a HIIT strength/conditioning workout. Right after that I mowed for 45 minutes. My arms were very challenged mowing right after doing that challenging HIIT class. Then I went to work, and when I got back home I mowed for 30 minutes more (I'm trying to get caught up on the mowing in between so many rain events we're having these days). Tonight I went to my Theater in the Park "workout" hauling a full load of music gear and then playing trumpet for 3-4 hours. But, by golly, my music gear haul is getting easier these days! Same load—-but now with the noticeable new addition of me getting stronger 💜

@Deeder522 Great work on the elliptical! With a nice walk and stretch 😊

I walked Dottie 30 minutes yesterday morning and last night I did that theater in the park "workout."

@Deeder522 You're not alone; I'm exhausted all over again remembering it! 😅 Great way to spend the last day of the month! I'm thinking I need to have a reflection day soon, too:) I very much hope the others will check in, as you requested, because I'll be one of the ones trudging through August. At any rate, at least those of us trudging through August will have each other, and grateful for that! 🧡
