@nancyinmiami - I’ll pick number 51
Thanks for the reminders about The First Witch of Boston raffle @nancyinmiami and @jessicakrall8. It’s a fun idea and I appreciate your generosity!
My local library network didn’t have any copies among the four branches, and I struck out at the used book store near my house, so I’ll try the “Buy Nothing” Facebook group soon. Whenever I have to buy the book, I visit the nearby Barns & Noble Store and then donate it to the library once I finish. The library system had a copy but it looks as though it got lost or damaged at some point. I’ll look forward to donating it there if the Buy Nothing group doesn’t work out.

The drawing for a copy of The First Witch of Boston is TOMORROW, Thursday! So if you haven’t given me a number between 1-100, please do so tonight/tomorrow am. I’ll be announcing the winner tomorrow afternoon!!

Day 1 of 75 Hard
- Diet: Mostly stuck to OMAD. Got a little peckish while feeding my sons dinner, which I need to work on.
- Workouts: 1st was a 50 min outdoor walk. 2nd was 45 minutes on treadmill doing walk/fast run intervals.
- Water: easily got my half gallon plus some.
- Reading (any book): Read 100+ pages of The Only One Left by Riley Sager. It's a fast read.

For the lady couple of days, I've not been able to use the community app. everything else worked but this site. I've tried everything. Logged in and out. Uninstall and reinstall. I even updated. Nothing worked. Then tonight it let's me in. wow! I've pretty much missed out on this week's challenge. At least it's working before my weigh in day.

I’m glad you’re back @alleykat69! You tried so many ways to troubleshoot the problem! — I’m impressed by your determination and perseverance.
Thanks to @19shmoo69 for letting us know you were having trouble with the app.
Welcome back!

Weigh-in day: Thursday
PW: 143.3
CW: 143.8SW: 168

Hi Shape Shifter Friends!
Nice to see a couple more of you decided to join the 75 Hard/medium/easy challenge!
I’ll be reporting the day after each day I do my 75 medium plan. My plan includes no food after 8pm - so that’s why I’ll wait until the next day to report to make sure I follow through on that part.- Food - stuck to my plan! Includes staying under 1580 calories as suggested by the MFP Diary. Warm lemon water in the morning. Eating an apple and 4 other fruit/vegetable servings. Very low carbs - only natural carbs found in natural foods, no processed foods. No eating past 8 pm - only water and herbal tea after 8 pm. No alcohol ( which I don’t do anyway).
- Water - 64+ ounces
- 45 minute workout - did a 46 min 25 sec walk covering 2.42 miles
- reading a book on Mindfulness - so read more than 10 pageS
- Took first day photo
Sad part is I gained a pound! ( I weigh daily) but hopefully that’s a fluke. I did have a bad headache by late afternoon - I’m sure it was a sugar withdrawal headache.

Wednesday Strong Seniors and indoor walk3 -
Hello Shape Shifters. I had a nice walk this morning, though I was a bit cold. Soon it is time for warmer clothes. I always find it very hard to decide what to wear when the weather changes since I get hot so fast. It seems like I am just never comfortable; I am either cold or hot. Oh well. I randomly took a different trail which ended up being a really pretty path through the forest. I had a guess where I would end up because of the type of plants and trees and I was right. It's nice when you are familiar with an area. I can just switch things up whenever I feel like and I will always find my way back again. I went to the gym for my strength workout before lunch which went okay. I have a single leg dead lift in my schedule and balancing on my left leg is such a pain. I kept falling over which made me grumpy and then I started daydreaming of cookies! Don't worry, I behaved, but I can't wait for the cravings to stop. It usually takes 1 or 2 weeks for me so I have to be strong for a while. Didn't do much the rest of the day. Tinus wanted a lot of laptime which I never mind, though it does limit what I can do behind the computer. That's okay, who knows how much longer he is around, he can have all the laptime he wants. Good night everyone 🌙

Day 2 ~ Oct 2
[ Progress picture ] Done
[ Workout one outdoor ] Walk 66 minutes
[ Workout two ] Weights at the gym ~ 60 minutes
[ Diet ~ under 1800 calories & 115+ protein ] 1681 calories & 127 protein
[ Read 10 pages non-fiction ] Done, currently reading 'Exercised'
[ Water ] DoneSo I decided to abbandon the other book I was reading. In theory this is against the rules, but since it was only 1 day, I don't really care. I read some extra today to make up for it. I had been reading 'thru-hiking will break your heart' for a while before the challenge already, and the writing is very off putting, flat and emotionless. I did read some more today, but I can't be arsed to finish it since it has a lot of pages.

@Grandma16grandkids Great day! Weighing in daily can be annoying since you will go up sometimes. I have also decided to look every day, but I think once a week is more rewarding since it pretty much always goes down if you put in the work! With every day, the scale really just seems to do whatever sometimes.

Still Day 1
- Diet: I didn’t eat at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables so I’m still on Day 1 for the 75 Hard Challenge
- Exercise: We rowed indoors b/c the water was too rough so I walked outdoors a bit after the morning workout. I did sit-ups with my son and stretched in the evening.
- Alcohol: No alcohol
- Reading: Read 10 pages
- Water: I didn’t keep close enough track of my water but I’m pretty confident I drank 80 ounces to meet my goal.
I’m starting again b/c I didn’t meet my diet goal. 🍓🍌🥦🥕

The extraordinary Dr. Jane Goodall died on Wednesday at the age of 91. The NYT published a lovely article today, “What Jane Goodall Taught Us About Living a Long Life.” Hope you enjoy it.

Still Day 1 of 75 Hard but getting easier — 😊
- Diet: I didn’t eat at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables but I have a new strategy to add fruit to my breakfast.
- Exercise: We had a great outdoor row! Later. I went to gym for a personal training session (body weight exercises and jump rope)
- Alcohol: No alcohol
- Reading: Read 10 pages
- Water: I had to focus on more water intake later in the day. I drank two glasses close to bedtime and then had to get up in the middle of the night, which interrupted my sleep for a couple of hours. I need to drink my water earlier.
I’m starting again b/c I didn’t meet my diet goal again. 🍓🍌🥦🥕

Hi Shape Shifter Friends!
Report for Thursday October 2nd:
My plan includes no food after 8pm - so that’s why I’ll wait until the next day to report to make sure I follow through on that part.- Food - stuck to my plan - Includes staying under 1580 calories as suggested by the MFP Diary. Warm lemon water in the morning. Eating an apple and 4 other fruit/vegetable servings. Very low carbs - only natural carbs found in natural foods. No eating past 8 pm - only water and herbal tea after 8 pm. I cut this one close! Husband had a meeting after work so we didn’t eat dinner until 7:30. At 7:50 I’m like “ uh oh better hurry up” and finished on time.
- Water - 64+ ounces
- 45 minute workout - did 20 minutes on stationary bike we have at home. 10 minutes of weights which I have plenty of at home and 15 minutes of intentional walking indoors.
- reading a book on Mindfulness - so read more than 10 pages again.
I did have a bad headache by late afternoon - I’m sure it was a sugar withdrawal headache AGAIN! I’ve been so addicted to chocolate of all kinds daily and sometimes gummy bears as well that my body is suffering from withdrawal. I also did binge on chocolate for several days before deciding to start the 75 Challenge. Took two Tylenol and by evening it was better. I read that maybe having a lot of fruits for a few days with their natural sugars may help with the sugar withdrawal. Will try that - bought extra oranges and grapefruit and berries.5 -
