I'm not seeing any real changes anyway. I've definately built some muscle mass and got stronger, but have not leaned out at all. Not blaming the program, it's b/c I haven't followed the nutrition. But today is the 3rd day into Phase 3 and I have high hopes. Also plan to count calories for the next 4 wks. Given those cardio sprints, I HAVE to see results!0
-
Yes, I think nutrition is the biggest part... I've tried to stick to the plan, but really, I've semi-failed at that :-(
I've eaten chips and candies and even slacked off the program when I broke up with my bf a few weeks ago. And I was sick! So it didn't help!
I managed to put on a decent amount of muscle, but I'm thinking that abs should already be sticking out considering I'm not looking to loose much fat. I'm hoping P3 will make them pop I gained 1.6 pounds (which I am very happy about) but pants/skirts are now too big on me, so I guess I leaned out while gaining muscles, but I don't see it so much.
I'll stick to nutrition (a little more) for that last Phase. Problem is, I cannot seem to get rid of my starch at dinner. I try to reduce it during the day so I can have some at dinner otherwise I feel like I'm starving. I'm definitely going to try the carb cycling starting next week, I hope it'll help.
I also have very high hopes for P3! We'll see... I'll do a 2nd round of the trainer when I'm done.0 -
my results are not very noticeable, no abs:(
first column is pre-phase one, middle column is pre-phase 2 and last column is pre-phase 3
I have been slacking on phase 3, I only do 5 days per week. I should've been done on Saturday when I go to Mexico but I will only be on day 74. I doubt I will take pictures at the end of phase 3 because of the Mexico break!0 -
^^
Carb cycling scares me! I'm not sure I'll do it... I might reduce but I don't think I will go really low. I'll see...
And about the sprints; were you able to do 30 minutes the first time? I'm thinking 20 minutes might be doable, but not sure about 30. I guess I'll see how it goes tonight. I don't have a jump rope either, so I might run between sets. There is a track at my gym so it would be easier; I might have to do the sprints on the track as well since the gym is crazy busy those days. Do you think it would work?
Sometimes when I could not find the jump rope or if there wasnt enough room, I would just jump rope without the rope still mving my arms while jumping or just run in place. Jumping jacks would work as well. Anything to get your heart rate up! Carb cycling really wasnt that bad. I thought I woudltn be able to do it but it was actully easy. Just up your protein to account for energy since you are lowering your carbs.0 -
kareinef27, are you officially on day 59 tonight? just wondering if we are in sync.
I did the sprints for the first time last night and actually enjoyed them. I found it much easier to run than when it's at a constant pace. I had to start my sprints at 7.6 but was able to get up to 8.0. Only problem was I had to get home for dinner (Valentines day and all) so I only did 15 min. Another 30 min is scheduled for tonight, so I'll have to do my makeup 15 min tomorrow. : ( After doing Legs on Mon and then springs yesterday I find that my quads are KILLING. I'm also really tired today but then again my nutrition may not have been great for the past few days and I did have champagne last night, so tough to tell.
Asjerven, what are you doing when you get back from Mexico? starting over or picking up where you left off or other??
I'm already confused about what to do when I finish Phase 3, anyone have any suggestions??
Good luck, everyone!0 -
I don't know what I will do when I get back! I feel like I should finish it, but then what? Looking at New Rules of Lifting for Women, but part of me just wants to simplify, maybe try like a Rippetoe 5x5, three times per week kind of plan.0

I ran (since we have a track around the gym) and did mountain climbers as well as jumping jacks... My ankles/tibia are killing me today. I don't think it's shin splits, but it kinda feels like it... I had trouble walking this morning but now it's better. Part of me wants to take a rest day (I'm on day 59 tonight, so sprints are scheduled) but part of me also wants to rest... I'm still undecided and I'm leaving work in 15 minutes so I gotta make up my mind! Just not sure if the pain will be worse tomorrow if I workout tonight...0 -
My quads were killing me last night and I was not looking forward to sprints! but once i started I was fine. Only did 20 min though. But today again...SORE. I can't imagine that she has me doing legs again so soon (Day 60!). Not to mention I still owe 25 min of cardio this week so far. I'll probably do something a bit easier like elliptical or bike, steady pace. So far my pants are still getting tighter?!?!?0
-
Thanks for the before and after photos...You looked good before and after though silly.
I guess you just wanted rock hard abs for the trip to Mexico?0 -
Does phase 3 have workouts 7 days a week???0
-
jawolfe
I was wondering the same thing, "what will I do when I'm done with this to keep it going". I'm only in phase 1 now though, haha...
One thing I definitely want to do is run a 5k this year so I thought this is just getting me prepared for that. If I really like the 12 week program though I might just do it again...0 -
Phase 3 has 6 days a week workouts! still have one rest day.
I was hoping for abs before Mexico, no such luck.
I am afraid I am getting sick, I just feel on the verge of a cold, achy and stuffy and hoping I can get over it without getting full blown sick. Don't want to be sick on vacation!0 -
That kind of bums me out that there are workouts 6 days a week. I have school/work all day/night M-W, so it's been perfect getting my workouts in on the other 4 days. I don't want to miss any part of this....If anything maybe I'll cram all the workouts into 4 days.or maybe I'll just stay in the phase 2 with 4 day regimens a little longer until school gets out, than give phase 3 my all.
I hope you feel better in time for your trip. That would suck, I know you've been looking forward to it. Maybe just rest, get plenty of fluids, vitamins...etc... and hopefully you will fight it off before it is a full blown cold. :drinker:0 -
Fitgirl, I was thinking of repeating it too, until I got to the cardio 4x a week weeks. I just can't keep doing 50-60 min of weights, AND THEN still have 30 min of cardio to do. It's just gotten too tough. I'm doing my best but when it's done I want to find a program that's no more than an hour a day, 6 days a week. Jeez that should be enough, right?!
Good luck, with Phase I, let us know if you have any questions! Jennifer0 -
I will be repeating P2 and P3 after I am done (still have 3 weeks to go), but I will only workout 5 days a week.
I'm already only doing 5 days because I was exhausted (physically and mentally). I still get results. I just skipped a workout and sometimes I'll incoroporate some moves on another training day, but most of the time I'll just skip it. P3 works a few body parts/day so I don't worry about it too much.0 -
Yes, I like your ideas, thanks girls.
I like the 5 day a week plan too, than you can still have 2 days to rest. We will see how it goes I guess but thank you for the tips!
I'm about to start week 3 of phase 1. Even if I don't look like Jamie Eason at the end of the 12 weeks lol, I must say, these workouts feel great!!0 -
I love the P3 workouts!! They are great! Although when I feel weak or sick... they aren't so great
I'm having a hard time with carb cycling. I don't want to go too low on carbs so I am trying to get around 90-100g of carbs on lower carbs day. Problem is, I'm only at 1350 calories today, it doesn't seem enough... I'm not sure what I could eat that doesn't have carbs...0 -
I should have been done with phase 3 before Mexico but I lost a couple of days here and there and am on Day 74, which I might do today but I am not feeling great.
After a week in Cozumel I am certainly rested, but fear I am coming down with a cold, feel stuffy and achy and maybe a touch feverish, but I am not sure.
also, I meant to mention that all through phase 3 I didn't know what a drop set was! then I finally saw the definition and I was not doing it right! I thought it meant that the last rep was so hard you drop the weight on the floor! I never did that, but it was the opposite, drop the weight to a lower a weight, haha, oh well...0 -
That's a riot! Welcome back!0

Did Day 75 last night and won't workout thurs or Friday. I am going to try to workout Saturday and Sunday. Maybe since day 76 is just cardio I will go for a run outside.
I should be on track to finish the plan next week!0 -

That's awesome!
I hope you are feeling better.:sick:0 -
yeah, thanks! Looking forward to the weekend for sure.
Sunday is one week left of the Eason plan. I think I should be able to stick with it next week.0 -
Wow, you must be about done?
That's crazy! Congrats girl. Let me know what you end up doing next, maybe we can make a group for it0 -
Day 81 tonight. My legs are sore! No more sprints at least, that was killing me.
I think after this I am going to try the Stronglifts 5x5, a 3-day-per-week strength program. there is a group on here but they don't seem to be very active recently. I plan to take a week off between programs and rest up.
I think for about three months I will just try to build some muscle and know I will gain some fat too and then maybe try a leaning phase after that.
Still haven't decided about warrior dash. that is August 18 or 19. I think the prep for that would be more cross-training-running and strength.0 -
Done! uh oh...now what?? i'll check out that Stronglifts program. I think i'll do a week that is very cardo focused and then find something new0
-
nice, jawolf, what did you think? Any results pics?0
