When I was younger, I preferred older women. But now, I'm shifting to younger.

I don't think May - December relationships are impossible, but they do bring some added complications (particularly in the long run). Is he going to want kids? Are you willing to have kids?

Uck. that was my thought too. But who knows what will happen. So should I sacrifice happiness for something may or may not happen? That is really what I have been struggling with. How do you even bring up kids with someone you are JUST starting to get to know .. especially a 25 year old without freaking him the f@ck out. lol.

Why are kids even a consideration? Might you be overthinking things a bit? We all do it.

I'm also guessing this 25 year old doesn't fix motorcycles.

Pretty important compromise if he expected to have some and now that isn't going to happen with her, don't you think? If you're going to completely adjust your life path, you have to give up a part of yourself. The bigger the age difference, the more off path you're likely to be going.

EXACTLY! lol .. to both. It is crazy to think about kids and all that at this point .. lord knows I don't want to so why would he .. but on the other hand .. it is a HUGE life path adjustment.. either way it may go. so why start something you know you can't finish. It is complicated.

I'm with whoever said to give it a month or 2 to see what exactly this is.

    Absolutely!

Big age gaps can complicate things, but they need not be a deal breaker.

Okay I un-hid my profile (again) and changed my age range from 22-40 LOL.

    I had it 29-37...

    Just to experiment!

Can we hear 46? :flowerforyou:

If you can get on the pole with me, we might be okay.

    You have no idea!

Oh really???? I'm telling you... I'm a wild one.

And I've shut down a club or two, or three...

It sounds like you just met him in the past few weeks. Give it a month or two to see if it's anything more than just physical before worrying about serious topics.

Yeh .. that makes sense. I don't want to worry about it at all ..lol

Like I said, have fun, enjoy! If it gets to that point, you can cross that bridge when you come to it.

Okay, right now enjoy the time and have fun, don`t get ahead of yourselves and that is not an age thing just a practical matter.

No one wants to talk about it but given the facts of nature there are some issues that may crop up with a lady being the older by a number of years that don`t occur with a guy so it will be a good thing to discuss with him now if it really gets serious.

One of course is his view of having children, certainly you are not "too old" for that but it is a consideration.
Another is simply the aging process,is he willing to be in it for the long haul given that when he is 35 you will be 50.
That is more of a societal issue, not a thing I have a problem with but as the younger it is possible there will be more physical changes in you then him.
Will he accept that and stay.

Before everyone jumps on me and says no one would think that if it was a man that was older the answer is correct.
It is a lot more common, accepted and the issues involved different.
My father was born in 1905 and mom in 1932.
He was 59 when I was born and from personal experience would say having kids at that age is not a good idea.

Threw it out there for discussions sake if anyone wants to,that is the only reason.

I'd say absolutely...I love this group - you guys are totally awesome...make me almost laugh out loud!!!

I just got back (well 3 weeks ago now) from a "first date" (actually long weekend - 3 days) but i've known him for 15+ years and we've been texting/emailing for a few months...I could totally see him in my future...

    Oh Carl. I  you.

I have truly thought all these things that you are saying. I have to believe that he has thought about them too .. I kinda joked once about dying before him .. and it didn't phase him in the slightest. At some point .. women stop being able to even HAVE children so .. yeh .. thats big. AND .. he is 25. Do they even think like that? Probably not.

so yeh .. I'm going to enjoy it right now .. I just don't want to get too far in and get heart broken. :frown:
