I too like to step on the scale around every other day. When this challenge started I just did on our weigh-in days for a change. But I haven't had a stupid battery in my scale for a week now. I don't like it one bit but haven't had a chance to track one down. I weighed in at the gym on Tuesday and it's not the same... wrong time of day, wrong clothes, etc
so I guess I wait until our weigh-in on saturday0 -
Okay...I did a bit better today, but am still struggling with carb cravings and wine cravings....have to get a grip!

I drank 14 glasses og water and stayed under calories by 300 or so. I also was able to walk 3 miles and get my challenge exercises done. I feel really good about today

On Thursday I got caught up on the exercises and my friend and I walked to the zumba class and did zumba and then walked home. So although not a lot of miles, I did lots of exercise!
I am leaving this afternoon for States for bowling so I won't be able to weigh in tomorrow or Sunday - no scale - so I guess I can just miss this week and weigh in next week. Or I can weigh in Monday but I don't want to hold up the scores.
I am not sure if I will have internet access or not - so not sure about logging but I will try!

Have a great time, Dorie! It's a challenge to eat well and post while traveling, but that's why this is a "CHALLENGE", right?
I like the different exercises that we are doing on our challenge, even if I don't always think they are fun while I'm doing them. It's nice to mix it up and these exercises have given me some different ones to add to the mix. Don't you all feel like you're getting tighter in some "key" areas? I can certainly FEEL the areas that we are working!!!

Argh......still no weight loss. I'm about to try sleeping pills (OTC) for a few nights to see if I can overcome the insomnia, but I really hate to do that. BUT I have read a couple of studies that say sleep is required for weight loss, and I KNOW it is required for sanity, and helps with stamina and concentration, too!! I've been clock-watching again for the past week when my girls are sleeping. Blah. It's something to blame for this plateau, anyway!
I think I'll measure today. Maybe that will make me feel a little better???0 -
sleep is definitely important for weight loss
lack of it causes stress on your body
have you tried things like melatonin or chamomile?
I hope you can get some sleep soon!
I FINALLY got a new scale battery. I guess my old one had been dying for a while because now the letters are much darker and it got to my weight a lot faster. I lost 2 pounds since Tuesday!!!! I am so glad and relieved that this is all working. I've taken back my life and my time this month and making myself a priority.0 -
Hi everyone - I do have internet connection and I have been logging. I also did my exercise challenges for today. I did them in my room last night when we got back to the hotel. I think my MIL thought I was a little crazy but she knows how I am and loves me anyway! I did go over my calories and didn't drink enough water but I am hoping today is a little better. We are just getting ready to go eat and I am going to have a salad of some sort. I think I have about 700 some calories left so we will see.
I bowled terrible today but that is another story. We bowled six games so got a little exercise in!

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. I have used melatonin before, and it helped. I didn't get any today. I'm out of money for awhile....bills come first. I got lots of fresh air and sunshine today and am set for a hot bath with homemade bath salts.

So as you know I am away this weekend and I took my exercise clothes cause I figured I would do some of the exercise challenges in the room but I didn't take sneakers cause it was supposed to rain so I didnt think I would walk. Well, the hotel has a nice fitness center so I asked around my friends to see if anyone brought sneakers and one of them had a pair that was just about my size. So I put them on after dinner and went down to the fitness center and I jogged 5 miles on the treadmill!! Without stopping -- the farthest I ever ran before was 3 miles about 30 minutes but I did 63 minutes- FIVE miles!! I know it isn't fast but I was so proud of myself for being able to do it at all! So I burned 702 calories! YAY!
Okay, now I am going to bed -- have to get up and bowl tomorrow!

I am finishing off my Double crunches for the week, so: 210/210
Got my walking in, water in, challenge exercises in, but have been struggling the past few days...actually since my time out of town last weekend... with staying under calories because I am having wine with my DH in the evenings, and that isn't working for me! I end up eating more than I plan so I have to get back to NO WINE for a while so I can get back on track. My scale is telling me that for sure, SO...just have to DO IT!

I am so glad this week is over. I cant wait to start a new week. I have been going through some pretty heavy personal issues that is causing alot of ups and downs for me. But I am sticking with the "trying" part of it. I am really hoping to focus more this coming week AND hopefully get this NEW 3 day back pain gone. Urghhh!!
