This group seems pretty inactive but if anyone's still out there I'd like to make other vet tech friends to help keep me accountable! You all know how hard it is to resist the goodies clients bring in... bleh! And all I really talk about is my dog so... you guys understand, right? ;)
I don't really anticipate this group becoming unmanagable, but I figured I'd ask for volunteers. When I'm not at work I only have my phone for internet so if any moderating is needed it'll be difficult.
So the hospital I work for is part of a multimillion dollar company. When I worked at smaller clinics there were bonuses, and christmas parties paid for by the company, but at this place nothing. It's even getting to the point that the owner isn't buying meals for the holidays. We're doing a freakin pot luck on christmas…
Just got a phone call that there's a schnauzer on it's way who has been having trouble walking so the owner has been giving it ibuprofen for 2 days and now it's drinking excessively. I love when people take a mild situation and turn it deadly out of stupidity.
I just did this. I'm so proud of myself I have to post pictures. Previously everything in the hospital was just thrown in the drawers and it had carboard divders covered in old nasty porous tape that no-one paid attention to. Top of cart Top drawer: Airway Second Drawer: Drugs Third Drawer: Venous Access Bottom Drawer:…

We have everything overnight, from medical boarders and post op spays to hemoabdomens and HBC's. I love emergency because…
Little late, but I wanted to wish every a Happy Vet Tech Week!
EDIT : Just noticed I misspelled 'Schnauzer' in the title, stupid typos. *hangs head in shame* It won't let me fix it! Haha! Hey guys! So one of my Mini Schnauzers just was diagnosed with Schnauzer Syndrome. We all know what it is, but tell me how your Doctors decide to treat it. My doc prescribed Oxydex shampoo every…
Apparently I've been assigned to a committee to make sure we pass AHAA certification. Yay? Any tips?
I've worked in veterinary medicine since I was 15 yrs old......I'm 30 now, so that's 15 years experience. I've done NOTHING else...never worked fast food, retail, nothing. I periodically get burn out. I'm experiencing it so bad right now that it's taking everything I have in me to not just walk out. It has more to do with…
