  • I'm not a big veggie lover. I thought I hated everything, but I've gradually grown to find a few I can tolerate using the methods people have described- roasting, stir fry, etc. I don't think I will ever get over my texture issue with tomato chunks. I did just by a ninja smoothie maker. I wanted to limit my processed foods…
  • I did slimfast and it did work. However, I did have snacks, not always the slimfast ones, but something small. And I still had to use the MFP calorie counter. It worked for me because my family is a bunch of carboholics for dinner. I needed smaller meals to make up for that. It took getting used to the lower calorie meals.…
  • I love the cappuccino flavor- just like a frappucino! I usually have it for breakfast. I did do slimfast for breakfast and lunch for a while, and I lost weight, but it was just super annoying hearing people ask me all the time if I was still hungry. If you do it, don't tell people! It did take some getting used to, and I…

  • A jar of salsa, 1.5 lbs of chicken, frozen corn, and a can of black beans (drained). Cook on low for 8 hours, shred the chicken, and add some cheese on top. We serve it over rice or we eat it with tortilla chips (usually one night of each because this is 2 meals). I have a recipe that calls for a lot of other seasoning,…
  • I want to point out you are clearly eating more that you just listed there, or you are eating very large portions. Even 3 serving of something like Cap'n Crunch for breakfast and a turkey burger for dinner would result in losing weight. Try really measuring and logging what you are eating. You are missing something.
  • C25K is really just a 10 week program on how to run for 30 minutes straight. As long as you set that expectation ahead of time you are fine. I tried it a few times and could never progress past the stage where you start running 5 minute intervals. I finally made it over that hump when I slowed down. It is hard to run as…
  • My father-in-law is Type II and almost every day he will eat a Chipotle salad. With the right ingredients he can have a pretty mega salad and stay low carb. He doesn't eat the dressing, and I'm pretty sure he gets the guac...
  • We have two recipes we use pretty frequently with black beans: - "tacos" with canned black beans, cilantro and a little Tabasco. I even buy the seasoned canned black beans which are great! Buy some corn tortillas, put some oil in a skillet, drop in the tortillas filled just a little and folded in half. I put pepperjack…
  • I run at around the same pace as you- sometimes. And honestly it took me a while to even get that fast. A 12:00 mile seemed like a fantasy. I've been doing this about a year. A lot of people already made good points so I'm sorry if some of these are repeats: - How quickly did you pile on those extra 2 miles? Don't compare…
  • I don't know about throwing ground beef in a crockpot- and cooking it first just removes the convenience for me. Maybe try substituting chicken, cook on low for 8 hours, and then shred it and add the rice in the last 20 minutes or so?
  • I think though that you can stall as someone said earlier if you assume the same calorie burn across several months of running. If you run 20 miles a week every week, your body does adjust and will burn fewer calories as you get stronger. So unless you have increased your effort in some way, it could be that entering the…
  • Slow cooker is the easiest anyway. I pour in a few cans of beef broth, and a packet each of brown gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, and italian dressing mix. And I add a ton of carrots and potatoes.
  • Random, but I have found I eat a lot less dressing if I dip my salad rather than pour it on, so I can worry less about the calories. I love Kraft Lite Asian Toasted Sesame and the Kraft Roasted Red Pepper Italian.
