  • I really appreciate all the personal feedback. Going down the Google rabbit hole can be daunting. I get that everyone's body is different, but I did get a little nervous reading tales on the internet of people starting depression meds and gaining 60lbs. Along with the meds, my doctor did refer me to both a "talk therapist"…
  • Thank you both! I just didn't know if starting meds and adjusting my eating style back to low carb at the same time might be taking on too much...but we're giving it a shot! First day back to low carb and taking my first dose of meds tonight (the slip that came with the the prescription said that it can cause drowsiness,…
  • I love this post and thread! It gave me the warm and fuzzies reading through. I'm an emotional eater and have been a yo-yo over the past few years (which I know is soooper bad). I lost both of my parents over the past year & a half, and the process of watching them fade contributed to my weight gain. But, to put a positive…
  • I'm right there with you. I have yo-yo'd so many times because I'm an emotional/stress eater. But I always come back to low carb, not just for weight loss, but for general betterment. I've lost both of my parents this year and have ballooned up to my highest weight of 245. But now I have no more excuses and can dedicate my…
  • I too usually either just booze on the rocks or mixed with seltzer. Dirty martini isn't too bad, and the olives are a nice extra treat. As stated above, the mojito without the simple syrup is on point too. A mexican restaurant I love has a "skinny margarita" on the menu, which is just tequila and lime juice. Still a little…
  • My snack this weekend was hot pork rinds with some peanut butter...odd combination, but it totally hit the spot. If I wasn't in a drought, I'd think I was pregnant by this craving combo :)
  • It's alarming how often I have to tell myself to slow down and chew/taste my food...like numerous times within the same meal :)
  • @JodehFoster , I do both. I think it's Green Giant, but they now make spiralized veggie noodles and riced cauliflower and cauliflower mash (but it has rice flour in it)...anyway, I do stock up on some of the pre-made frozen products for days where convenience is a factor. But I do like the taste of fresh better. I used the…
  • That was totally a staple for me too when I was sick as a kid. My grandma would make me buttered saltines and a cup of tea with milk/sugar...is that a midwest thing? I use pork rinds for all the things mentioned above...eat with salsa or cream cheese or as a binder in meatloaf. I've also melted some…
  • I wish I could "like" this challenge 1000 times. This one struck a chord for me, and it's an inspiring way to try to get back on track (which I have fumbled with a ton this year).
  • Thank you all soooo very much. I teared up reading a lot of these. I really appreciate you taking the time to lend some support. Thank you!! Sometimes I forget how connected our whole body is, and it really is a matter of taking care of both mind and body. Having a massage therapy background, you'd think I'd have this…
  • This isn't the lowest carb soup recipe, but it ended up turning out better than anticipated. I combined a few soup recipes together to experiment with how it would turn out...it hits the spot now that it's nearly winter: 10 ounce frozen riced cauliflower 48oz chicken broth 32oz chicken stock 1zucchini - spiralized 1 bag…
  • I LOVE prosciutto wrapped green bean bundles...and so does the family/friends. It's a recipe I kind of threw together from a mish/mosh of other recipes. It's just frozen french style green beans, prosciutto, butter, soy sauce, and garlic. I unthaw/simmer the frozen green beans in some salted water...just enough to cover.…
  • I decided to give some of the flavored tuna packets a try. Buffalo tuna, broccoli slaw, and a little ranch...not the prettiest, but a super fast/easy/tasty lunch for work.
  • For me, this little saying holds true: "Fail to plan or plan to fail" Mostly I pertain this to my weekly meal planning and grocery trips. If I stay on track with keeping good food in the house and meals in the line up, I'm much much less likely to flub up. Planning to keep my fridge/freezer stocked with foods that I…
  • Tue 8/1 & We'd 8/2: Logged: :) Water: :) Calorie Goal: :) Carb Goal: :) Weekly Meal Plan: :/ Walking/Bike Goal: :) Butt Challenge Goal: :/ My car broke down and has been at the shop since yesterday, so I failed at meal planning/grocery shopping...and have not yet attempted my butt challenge. But I'm proud of myself for…
  • I know I've said this like a million times over the past 3 months...but I need to get strict and back in the saddle. Especially after July and tackling so many issues with my family. Both my folks battling life threatening ailments with no "cure". (one entering the final stages of COPD, the other diagnosed with Black…
  • Welcome back and good for you girl! I'm right there with you...I've slowly gotten a bit lazy the past 2 months, but still had small loses. Then both of my parents and my brother-in-law all landed in the hospital last week for various things and it was insane how quickly I turned to food. All week long I've binged and put…
  • @KnitOrMiss can I just say your new profile pic and haircut is beautiful! Love it!
  • I second this suggestion. I make an egg bake on Sunday mornings, eat a portion for breakfast and then take the rest with me to work for the week. I find them easy to vary with different veggie & meat combinations. My favorite is spinach, kale, feta, and sausage :)
  • painting my toenails and shaving my legs have become much easier...this is the first time I've painted my toes in nearly a year.

  • I'm sorry to hear of your loss. The first poster said it well...be kind to yourself during this time of grief and healing. I'm an emotional eater too...never talked to a professional about it...so my advice is what's just worked for me personally (and know that even though I've been generally successful - I still have…
  • tortilla chips and salsa...all day long
  • @lorettaclaire First...amazing work, you look great! Second...amazing suit, where'd you score it?
  • I haven't been totally off the wagon, but I've definitely been slacking...I like to come back to this post to get motivated by all y'alls progress. I want to be able to contribute some of my own! Good work!
  • @JessicaLCHF I blended a few recipes together and think it still needs to be tweaked a bit...they could have used more seasoning and maybe up the binding ingredients cuz they felt a little loose...or you could just follow the actual recipe rather than what I did trying to be all fancy and make your own :) 2 cans of…
  • Poor man's "crab" cakes. I used canned chicken, but next time I'll try tuna.
  • I am right there with you. Started in February and stayed solid through mid April. Dropped weight, was feeling so much better. Then mid April through all of May, I was just so up and down with staying on track. So June 1st was my "jump back on track" start up again. I'm trying better to meal plan and prepare...because I…
  • My green eggs and ham breakfast. Deviled eggs made with avocado, mustard, & bacon.
  • I think I'm going to copy the no weigh in goal this month too. I'll weigh tomorrow and then put the scale away until July.
