  • If you are on Facebook there is a group called "The Ketogenic Athlete" you may get some good responses there.
  • No one needs sugar.
  • I am Ketogenic - 2 years now and no carb cycling. I stick fairly close to 20g a day or less. Moderate protein, high fat to best control my blood sugar. T2D - no meds since May 2014. Never turning back. [img][/img] [img][/img]
  • You are likely addicted to sugar - it is in just about everything that is processed or packaged. It is physiological - there is nothing wrong with you except you need to get off the sugar, suffer the withdrawls so the cravings go away. Once the physical cravings are gone, you focus on eating real whole foods - meats,…
  • Unless you have given up high glycemic carbs and fruits too, your quest to be sugar free is probably futile with regards to cravings going away. Sugar is everywhere - in most processed and packaged foods, in fruit and when you eat pasta, rice, etc, it converts to glucose once you eat it. Cravings are like stray cats, if…
  • I am down 104 pounds.
  • I too don't understand the restaurant dilemma. For my WOE it is pretty simple - ice water, meat, veggies. I think some people just get so fearful that they paralyze themselves. I don't even bother tracking if I eat out - I just make the best choice possible and move on!
  • Hi Mary! I got lost in Dripping Springs once. LOL Twibbly, we did not get flooded thank goodness. So glad the rain has stopped!
  • Twibbly, I am south of Austin. Thanks everyone!
  • I think with LCHF the "low carb" part is relative. For some 100g carbs is "low" but for me - I stick to 20 or less a day, with very few exceptions.
  • For me this is definitely a lifestyle. I am a carb/sugar addict and there is no such thing as moderation/balance for me or I would never have gotten obese to begin with. I can't imagine going back to the stuff that almost killed me.
  • I have lost 90 pounds and I started at a 46 DDD and am now 38 DDD. The cup size is still DDD, but each time the band size gets smaller the actual size of the cup is smaller too. So, I may still be DDD, but the girls are significantly smaller.
  • Thanks everyone! Yes, I do feel great! For those asking about Keto/LCHF a great place to start is http://www.dietdoctor.com/lchf It has lots of great info on how to get started, what to eat etc. There is also www.buttermakesyourpantsfalloff.com What I eat now is different from when I started. When I first began I did…
  • Is hanging leg raise when you hold yourself up with your arms and lift your legs? I do those but I can't make it past 3 sets of 10 so far. They are brutal for me!
  • I do other ab exercises, I just want to know how to proceed when they aren't challenging anymore.
  • I have lost 60 pounds and my calves are the only place I haven't lost inches. I am hoping by the time I get to my goal weight to have lost at least one inch off them. One of my calves is bigger than the other and that is annoying too. Oh well. :/
  • I don't count calories. I have lost 60 pounds since March 3rd. I follow LCHF woe and only count net carbs. It is much less stressful for me and much simpler to track. It isn't for everyone, but I used to count calories and not only did it not help my carb/sugar addiction, it was a hassle and I became easily frustrated.…
  • Thanks, everyone. I knew it wasn't from my food and figured it was something to do with water and muscles. Thanks for confirmation. I will just push on through and continue to drink a lot of water.
  • Progress pictures - I am 5'6" - starting weight 260 - current weight 204 - goal weight 140. 64 pounds to go, but I have started exercising and realize that if I build muscle, I may not get to 140. I would like to get to a size 8 pants or 140 - whichever happens first!
