  • Hi. I'm new to this group, and coming back to MFP after a new diabetes diagnosis. I'm 53. I've dieted, on and off, since I was a teenager, and until my mid-40s, I was able to maintain a healthy weight. A couple of years ago, I sloooooowly lost 30 pounds on a very restrictive plan. That took more than a year, and it brought…
  • Hello! I'm 51 and have 80 lbs to lose, all gained within the past 6 years. I lost 60 lbs in my 20s, and as I'm learning, this is a whole new ballgame. Good to have support with ladies who get it. :)
  • Congratulations on your success. I've been trying to do WFPB for a month now, still figuring it out. Glad to find this group.

  • Hello lovely ladies. I have a lot of weight to lose (about 90 lbs), and I'm trying out a whole food, plant-based diet this time around. So far, I have modestly good results. I've been also trying out an apple cider vinegar/lemon juice/cayenne pepper drink in the morning, and I think I might be seeing a bit of a boost…
  • I am just finding this message board now. Just stated a whole foods, plant based diet this week. I'm at the beginning of this journey, and the reason I"m doing it is to lose weight (I have abt 90 lbs to lose), but I do feel good about the idea of not eating meat, for humane and green reasons. Would love to have adds.
  • Measuring, paying attention to the way clothes fit, and looking for non-scale successes are all good advice... HOWEVER... if you ARE doing all of these things and STILL not seeing results (like me, this time last year), please don't give up. I didn't see ANY difference in the way I looked until I'd lost about 30 pounds…
  • Thank you, everyone, for posting to this thread. Good times, indeed, but at least we're not alone in all of this. :)
  • I'm 48 and feeling much the same. Last time when I lost a lot of weight, I was in my 20s. This is much harder and slower, but it is still completely doable. We can do it!
  • Seeing the look in a colleague's eye when they had to slow down as we were walking.
  • Thanks so much for this. Looking for inspiration, and very grateful to have found it this morning. I am in my 40s and working on a 75 pound loss, and it's a whole different animal than the last time I did this, in my 20s. Four months in, and my weight loss has stalled (aaaaagh!), and it's so helpful to read tips from…
  • This is my goal too! 20ish pounds down, 50 to go by 50 (a year and a half away).
  • Thanks so much for posting, everyone! Four months in to my journey, I'm working on staying motivated, and this is really helpful. My list so far:* After losing the first 19 pounds, I'm still in the same clothes size, but my SHOES and bras fit differently. (?!?!?!?!) Weird! * Apparently I enjoy fresh fruits and veggies more…
  • I can relate. I'm hoping to lose 75ish pounds this year, and if I don't lose all of it, but am well, well on my way by Dec. 31, 2016, I will be so much healthier and feel so much better. I find that having this specific, ambitious goal is helpful in any case, and if that's the case for you too, then best of luck to you!…
  • I just started up again after being inactive on MFP (and doing WW) for a while. So glad to be back on track with MF--it works well for me. I have about 70 pounds to lose. Feel free to add me, if you like.
