Actually no  I do workout a lot and I'm still in a deficit most days...
-
No idea why I lost it.. Possibly due to stress / poor adrenals / over exercise. I'm around 1900-2400 cals a day with 60ish grams of fat.
-
I lost my period 2 years back. It came back 2 months ago (yay!) but I missed my cycle this month. Bummed. I've been upping calories and focusing on good fats... But no period (and I'm not on birth control) really freaks me out :/

Feel free to add me as well!

I didn't eat over my calorie goal (never said that) just a large meal at night. Great feedback here... I didn't consider the "whoosh" possibility.

It's not earth shattering at all. I simply made a comment about a personal experience. Wow, someone sounds hungry.

Time management? That and getting to bed at a smart time to ensure a proper amount of sleep (8 hrs at least) for better recovery and energy the next day. We all have the same 24 hrs in a day.

Thanks everyone for great suggestions. I went for a long run - which I really enjoyed- and thought about my slip up and how I can try to prevent it moving forward.
-
I should allow myself to eat at maintenance on my rest days (which don't even happen that often) but it screws with my head. Feels like I'm losing progress.

Sub 1:28 half in April. And BQ at a full in May. Eeek! Excited :)

I have a Garmin 920xt and find the sleep tracker amazingly accurate. IMO, the 920xt is the best sport tracker/fitness watch ever. I'm a huge data geek and the simplicity of the watch is like magic. It just works - and syncs with my bike power meters, HRM, tracks laps in the pool, steps, calories with MFP - everything. I…

Interesting post here. I went for 16 mnths with no period - and for no reason. Doctors couldn't find any abnormalities and didn't really seem all that concerned. I think it was due to extreme over-exercise even though my body fat levels were normal. My period hasn't been normal my entire life, and it's more than…

If you want to snack on sugar, or have a treat- try inviting a friend over or meet them out somewhere. Usually, when we eat with others, we slow down and can enjoy our food more. I know you said that you tend to binge when you're alone, but perhaps try to schedule some time with a friend for a treat- share a candy bar and…

I run between 40-50 miles a week. I'd like to drop a lb or more per week, hence the larger deficit. I'm not sure why it's so confusing to figure out how much to eat.
-
I'm using TDEE, but may try a weekly goal- I like that idea.
-
I aim to eat an average of 1700 calories a day, regardless of what I actually do - which follows my BMR + TDEE - 750 calories (since I'm aiming to lose over a pound a week)
-
I did the mask/hood method as well for BMR, and also got 1850. (Both tests were performed by professionals, of course). Racing weight - I have that book. Didn't find it all that helpful actually. Thanks for the link - I'll download it and check it out. My original question - if I'm fueling enough, not enough, or properly I…
-
Also, my last BodPod test analyzed my BMR at 1850. From the reply's so far, it seems as thought dropping weight while training is highly individual.

I use a Garmin HRM to calculate calorie burn and it seems accurate to me. For example, an easy 5 mile run will burn around 450 calories. A hard 5 mile run, with tempo or speed work, will burn 550. I'm not sure that I should be eating less than 1400 calories a day while running 50 miles a week.
-
Thanks guys. As for how I calculate my burn- I use a Garmin 920xt and a HR Monitor. I find the calories expended to be very reasonable. For example, my 8 mile run today burned 790 calories bc it was an easy intensity. I lose about .5 lbs a week but I feel like I should be losing faster considering the deficits. I do try to…

I have a scale called the Zero Scale and I love love love it (give it a Google). It uses your starting weight as a tare weight then only shows what you lose or gain, rather than your weight in pounds (although you can select an option to see lbs too). It's brilliant. I love seeing that I've lost .5 lbs rather than 150 lbs.…

I was pretty happy with the level. My fasting glucose should be in soon (I had to get a fasted panel too). I totally geek out about blood tests - I love seeing my numbers. I'm feeling pretty good about the 78!

Noted! However, Doctor is home for the night... And I was curious :)

Adrenal insufficiency sucks. I just spent the past 8 months healing from it (I worked with a naturopath to do so). You must place emphasis on less stress, Good sleep, and quality adrenal supplements (glandulars). It's possible. Stay strong.
-
I also recommend the book Brain Over Binge. I read it and it helped me tremendously. I'm happy to send you my copy- paying it forward. Feel free to friend me, if you're interested :)

I've done a salt water flush a time or two (especially when constipated). In 2 words- it works! And its very gentle on your system. It's natural, so why not give it a go and see how it works for you. Just stay close to a bathroom :)
-
Great advice here. Thanks all. I'll hop on tomorrow am and see what it says. I think weighing every 2 weeks or so may work best, since I won't see the daily fluctuations, but this is something I'll need tonexperiment with to find what works best for me.
-
I had no steps synced for today either! And I had over 15,500! Grrr

I will be traveling next week for work as well, 4 days of in-person meetings as well. We are work twins :) I'm happy to be your buddy during the next week so we can try and keep one another balanced. I'm feeling a little stress myself, since I wont be able to prepare any of my own meals - of course, I plan to be as mindful…
