I don't know my weight then, but I do know that all my years since then of knowledge, fun, childbearing, employment, joy and pain, and life in general have indeed added a few pounds!

Ouch. Meanwhile, for those who wonder, here is some info about sugar/lactose content in yogurt: "Plain yogurt has no added sugar, yet a 6-ounce container has about 12 grams of naturally-occurring sugar in the form of lactose. Fruit-flavored yogurt varies in the amount of sugar added, so it's important that you read the…

Scariest thing for me is looking in the mirror after getting out of the shower ... yikes ... that is enough Halloween fright to get me through the day of celebration. But for those who can partake of the fun and calories, those are cute ideas. Another treat idea: brown frosted pan cake with gummy worms crawling out ...…

Hi All. I'm in the midst of a late evening craving for sweets. I'm trying instead to do a bit of posting, and will drink some iced tea, and see if a bit of time between me and my craving will actually make the dang craving disappear. I am doing OK with my tracking my calories. This is not my first weight-loss rodeo, so I…

I hate it when a business (store/manufacturer/distributor/restaurant) lies about its food content. Adding more sugar to yogurt makes it taste less tart, and logic says a better tasting food will result in higher sales. So, is what we have here perhaps a company that is altering its food in order to have increased sales…

Tell yourself in a mantra that you are there to earn dollars, not there to eat high calorie food even if it is "free". (If you indulge in high fat foods, those calories will be sticking with you long after the dollars are gone!) Find menu choices that are healthful, and bring your own condiments if necessary.

Hello all. I have read through the posts for today, and can see how supportive you are towards each other. Hopefully I'll be able to slowly work into your group during the month of November.

Things are going OK. I already had dinner, but am a bit hungry, so maybe I'll have some yogurt. I have enough calories left for the day to eat a yummy snack.

Also: A printed photo catches the exact image. But "viewing a picture" on a computer screen can be totally misleading, depending on the configuration of the screen and other digital elements. The wider the screen, the wider the butt. ;)

Hello Everyone, as an "50+" [technically it is 60+], I think this message board might be helpful to me on my journey to weight loss [again]. I'm posting here at the end of Oct, so that when the new month of Nov rolls around, I've a few days experience already under my belt. Or on my keyboard.

Binge eating is one of my problems. It is not even that I'll eat "bad" foods .... it is that I start in and just keep piling on course after course. I've nobody else in the house that I cook for anymore, so I'm working on eliminating the binge options from my cabinets and fridge.

When seeing in a mirror that my elastic-waist pants had the same profile for my "front side" (aka stomach) as for my "back side" (aka butt), well I knew right then that wearing a baggy top was not going to do an adequate cover-up anymore. How can a stomach stick put as far as a behind?? If pregnant, that is OK. But…

I had a good first day. Luckily my appetite is low today, so I ate as much as I wanted, but I did not want much.

I'm in the lower end of 60s, and had too many extra pounds added on during the past few years of being a caretaker. Now I am alone in my house, and fluctuate between wanting to lose the extra pounds vs not having interest in even getting dressed some days. I've used food truly as a way to capture moments of comfort. Now…

Thanks Wolfsbayne and Jaybug, I've sent you friend requests. It is hard to concentrate on myself now, and I think staying motivated is going to be challenging. I think the "why bother" might weigh me down. Have you had to deal with that for yourselves?

Hi, I am just getting started here. We have things in common ... recent widowhood and a desire to focus on our own health now. Add me if you think it would be useful to you (and to us).
