I'm 45, 5'6" and started at around 254lbs - I've been doing 1200 calories/day with occasional cheat days for 3 months and am down just over 30lbs - I'm now at 219lbs. It's coming off slower, maybe 1.5lbs/week. I use my elliptical almost daily (I try to do a 1/2 hr) and aim for 7000 steps/day which also pulls from the…

I recently bought a Yunmai Mini from Amazon. I love it because it has bluetooth and links to my Fitbit and MyFitnessPal. It also gives your percentages on BMI, body fat, muscle, water, protein, visceral fat, bone mass, BMR and body age.

I think the more you weigh, the more you have to lose before anyone notices. I'm now down just over 30lbs and people are noticing, but I still have a lot more to go...

I think you'll receive a lot of mixed reviews on this topic!! I had gained a lot of weight and was struggling to get back on track. I went to the dr. and was prescribed an appetite suppressant, at the same time I also started Nutrisystem. Many would would say both were a bad idea. I have no regrets - I'm now down over 30…

First I think it's pretty sucky that her original post was asking if anyone else was doing NS and the majority of posts were just negative comments - seriously people, keep them to yourself, that's not what she was asking for or needs! I thought this was a supportive, safe community? It's nice to hear that everyone is…

Love reading these! Just started NS a few days ago and my weight goals are very close to those above. I'm a WW lifetime member that fell off the wagon a long time ago and just haven't been able to get myself back on. I also just started using MFP and Fitbit again which I think are both very helpful! Keep up the great work…

I just started on Nutrisystem yesterday. My eating had become pretty out of control, had become lazy and started eating way too many tasty, high calorie convenience foods. I was stressing about the planning I usually have to do with dieting and kept putting off starting again because of that. That's why I decided to go…

I like popchips - around 120 cals per serving Tonight I tried roasting chickpeas with sea salt & pepper (they get crunchy and contain protein) - 1/4 cup = 120 cals or you can buy different flavors The Good Bean brand I just found Jenny O Turkey sticks - each stick is only 20 calories and contains protein (Walmart in jerky…

It has been tough for me too! If I know I'm going out for dinner I "try" to eat on the light side for breakfast and lunch and drink a lot of water. And true confession - if it seems like too much work to calculate ( like last nights hibachi dinner) - then I just don't log it

My doctor did mine last week. I had to come in fasting for at least 4 hours. They clamped my nose shut and I breathed in and out of a tube for ten minutes and it calculated mine as 1917. I still have not yet figured out what my best calories in vs BMR is, but she has also prescribed Belviq - so we will see

Usually 2-3 turkey sausages and a bowl of weight control oatmeal

I'm normally a carnivore! But last night I made a simple vegetarian chili - 1 cup was 214 calories - 2 cups at just over 400 cals would stuff you and still be do-able calorie wize.

That's fantastic!!! Love seeing success like this!!!

WW is good, I lost a ton of weight on the old program, lifetime member and all that (fell off the wagon, gained it back). I've gone back a zillion times but haven't been able to stick with it for any length of time. I've also done WW online. This time around I felt like I needed to try something different and came across…

Me too :)

My steps show on my phone app, but on my computer it only calculates the calories earned.

:'( Oh the dreaded potatoes... Chips and mashed potatoes are my biggest issues and if there's onion dip present - forget about it!!! I've only been back on track about 3 weeks, so right now - I'm avoiding mashed (unless they're in an LC or WW dinner where it's portioned - otherwise I cannot be trusted!!) As far as the…

Count me in!!! :#

Thank you all so much!! I just went back and read all the comments again. It's going to be a long road, but I already feel so much better! I hope you all achieve your goals!!! Christine :)

I'm in the same boat - on paper I have a lot to lose, but the way I carry my weight I often look less than I am. I would love to be 175 again which is still 20lbs from the top of my weight range (I'm 5'6) but I look pretty good there!!

I'm a lifetime WW member who fell off the wagon. WW is a great program but I have done it so many times and needed a change. So far I am loving MFP - I love that it's free and that it has so many different foods in it's database and I love that my fitbit links to it. Good luck, there are a lot of great people on here for…

Ugh - been there! Working, going to school full time, interning and raising twins - embarrassed to say that dinner choices many nights were the choice of pepperoni, sausage or plain frozen pizzas!! Planning ahead and/or preparing meals ahead of time - like during your very limited spare time might help. Also - I always…

Me too! I'm still fairly new, but welcome!!!

I'm also 5'6. While pregnant with twins I went up to 226. I had them in November, I was 28. Right after I followed WW pretty faithfully, used an elliptical and by late summer the following year I was down to 132. It was the only time in my life where losing was easy and I did not have any loose skin issues.

Jimmy Dean Delight Sausage, egg and cheese on a croissant (280 calories) and coffee with Sugar free French vanilla creamer (3 tbs 45 calories). Ok - it's not exactly clean eating but I love breakfast and need something with higher protein to get me through. I'm always eating on the run too - so this works with my morning…

I can completely relate. I love to eat - I eat when I'm happy, sad, mad, celebrating or stressed. I used to work in a long term drug and alcohol rehab. I know many don't want to put food in that category, but for myself I feel it is. There are differences of course, but too many similarities for me to dismiss. I've binged,…

In only 5 days the pain from what I thought was an ulcer is now gone (stopped taking stomach meds) and my face already looks thinner! Looking forward to more positives!!

Hi! I'm also 5 days in with a lot to lose! You can add me if you want!!

Thanks everyone and best of luck on all your journeys!!
