Cycling is easy on the joints as long as you use a gear that is easy to push at a high cadence.

When you aren't losing weight it means you aren't eating less than you are burning.
-
Anything that cause you to get out of breath when you are doing it is burning a significant amount of calories.
-
You are never going to be "as empty as possible" without fasting for a couple of days.
-
You don't lose fitness by doing the same thing over and over, but neither do you improve.

Renting is an option. It just doesn't make sense to have two bikes with the same purpose.
-
Unless it is a catastrophic failure I would think one would just fix it. Most bike repairs take less than an hour. I have multiple bikes because they are each designed for a different purpose.

I would trust the home scale over the doctor's scale. While the scale itself may be accurate you are more likely to have different stuff going on before you step on the scale. With the home scale you can limit inconsistencies by weighing when you first get out of bed.

I've recently heard recommendations for eating a high protein diet. I'm sure someone will be recommending something else next year. But whatever you go with you must eat fewer calories than you burn in order to lose weight.
-
Eating too much of anything will cause you to gain weight. This goes for fruit as well, especially when it is made into a pie.

1500 for non athletes and 1600 for athletes. But that's on average, not an absolute. You could get by with eating a little less one day and more another.

Riding on a cycle path through a park is usually safe. Riding on the pedestrian walkway next to a road is about twice as dangerous as riding in the same lane as traffic. Streets with few driveways are safer than those with many.

Fire your trainer.

I agree. Especially when it it involves riding a bicycle to a café to meet up with someone.

I don't eat when flying. It gets the controls all sticky.

I would suggest asking some of your friends. You're likely to find a few who bought one with good intentions but would now like to get it out of the way.Just be sure that you buy it from them rather than borrow. They would be more than happy to store their stuff in your house.

If I commute by bicycle I exercise twice a day. But generally I don't because I don't like to shower that often.

I know it requires an Internet connection, but I see no reason for it to required "streaming". The graphics are generated on the local machine, so the only data they have to pass over is rider locations and text messages. Even if that isn't available, the software continues running with only one rider visible. It would…

I wouldn't call it a plateau at this point. People often begin losing weight after seeing a number on the scale that is higher than they've ever seen, but that number often includes some extra water weight that goes away quickly. After things start to settle down weight may stay the same while fat loss continues.
-
You will burn more calories if you can run at a pace you can sustain and you sustain it for a long period of time.

Most people gain weight in winter and lose weight in summer. I find that using a turbo trainer helps me avoid the things that discourage me in winter.
-
MapMyFitness apps overestimate calorie burn, so maybe the figure is close to right since you are doing more than it assumes.
-
I wouldn't worry about it. You're likely losing some muscle but when you lose fat you don't need as much muscle to move your fat around. The end result is that you will probably feel stronger even if you lose some muscle.
-
When I'm mourning a loss, I go ride a bicycle. It works wonders.

* Eat foods rich in potassium * Avoid excess salt * Exercise daily * Don't exercise so much that your muscles get sore

The MapMyFitness apps are notorious for overestimating calorie burns. When I was using them I set my weight in the app so that it would report burns at about half of what it would report for my weight.

I don't know that I would choose a McDonald's salad over a Big Mac, but I would certainly choose a good café that serves salads over McDonald's.
