So long as it doesn't take you over your calorie limit, it's very easy. Most fruits aren't very high in calories, they're easy to generally fit in. I believe berries are especially low calorie.3

fruit has calories. Excess calories =weight gain deficit of calories= weight loss . Its universal they can be calories from anything. Fruit isnt magic and some fruits are highly calorific. So no. You said eating to much- So to much fruit is the same as to much cake. Just be within your calories and they can come from anything. If you find your to hungry eating alot of fruit ( i am) look into focusing on macros7

Eating too many calories hinders weight loss - those calories can be from fruit or cookies or anything. If it doesn't make you go over calories you're fine.
Also not weight related, if you're eating the majority of your calories in fruit and not getting enough protein or fat or whatever you might have other issues...2 -
Splurging on any foods that exceeds your calorie deficit will hinder weight loss. So if you are eating too much fruit that keeps you out of your calorie deficit at the end of the day/week, no weight loss or slower weight loss will occur.2

Yep, what the others said, gaining body fat is excess calories, not losing fat means no deficit is happening regardless if it's fruit/carbs, fat/oil, or protein. Excess fat, carbs, and proteins all get stored in the fat cells if they are not used by the body. Too much fruit? That's not enough info stand alone.1

Nobody ever got fat by eating an extra orange. That being said, fit it into your daily calorie intake.6

Eating too much of anything will cause you to gain weight. This goes for fruit as well, especially when it is made into a pie.3
