  • Look up postnatal yoga or Pilates, there are quite a few workouts on YouTube. It’s how I started after my third baby.
  • I’m currently nursing my third and have lost 17lbs since January very slowly. I have about 12lbs to go and then maybe some vanity weight. What works for me is eating at maintence calories and letting breastfeeding create my deficit. I use MFP and weigh everything that I eat and measure liquids. Forgive me, but I see a lot…
  • I’m in, for not quite 10lbs, that’s a little aggressive for me to achieve. 8 Lbs as I’d like to be below 10st for new year. CW: 147 New year goal:139 I really need the motivation, I’ve lost 17lb so far but really really slowly and the scale has been starting to go the wrong way.
  • You're not from the west midlands are you ;) Could be that my mum's side of the family is from Yorkshire, I don't know ;).[/quote] No, East Midlands. My husband is from Lancashire but I can no longer remember if he said tea and I just beat it out of him! 😕
  • I’m Midlands too and I have Breakfast, lunch, dinner and a small supper/bedtime snack. So no tea here! I think dinner is traditionally the biggest meal of the day.
  • Please don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I’m currently feeding my 3rd baby, she’s 11 months and I’m only 5’4’’ I’m losing on 2000 calories a day and I think I could add a couple hundred and still lose. It’s early days for me as I’m only now really focusing on it. I have 20-25 lbs to lose (only good thing to come…
  • Hi I have 6, 4 and 9 months. I’m still breastfeeding and I’m doing what DomesticKat suggested. My maintenance is 1700 so that’s my goal on an inactive day, I also run so some days I’ll eat up to 2000. Im losing 1-1.5lb a week at the minute but some weeks I maintain or lose .5lb. I have about 15lbs to go. It’s taken me…
  • The best diet is a sustainable one that will help you to stabilise blood sugar. I’m in the UK and have had GD (Gestational Diabetes) three times and now I’m pre diabetic. The advice here is old and outdated from the NHS, but they are making strives to change and begin to recommend a lower carb diet. Lower carb does not…
  • Check out Gestational Diabetes UK mums on Facebook and the website gestationaldiabetes.co.uk the information on here changed my whole experience of a GD pregnancy this time around. I’ve had GD 3 times and recently diagnosed as prediabetic. It’s best not to set prescriptive macros as GD is quite individual and what you can…
  • I’m breastfeeding my 6 month old (third baby) I’m down 12lbs so far with 14-20lbs to go. I eat around 2000 calories and am losing about 1lb a week. I was averaging 2200 for 1/2lb a week loss but have slightly decreased my calories as she has taken to solids so well. I don’t worry if I go over at times as long as my weekly…
  • Good luck and keep me posted on how it progresses (or hopefully doesn't!) for you. If you like a lot of fruit try making some swaps to berries, melon, grapefruit - I couldn't eat bananas x
  • I've had GD twice. I'm 6wks now with my third and I'm praying for a miracle that I don't get it again. Are you UK or US? Are you now testing after every meal? The advice is often to go most lower carb at breakfast as that is the time your body may find it harder to produce insulin. Lunch and dinner moderate carbs - whole…
  • Aldi harvest morn sachets are around 137 ish without milk. They are in the database here with and without milk options. I just had the blueberry and apple one (137 plus extra for milk)
  • I'm so sore today that everytime my kids touch me I feel like I'm being stabbed with tiny knives! Usually I don't mind DOMS but today has been tough with a clingy 2 yr old!!
  • Is it weird that I actually want to try this? I don't mind burpees!
  • [edited by mods]
  • I'm 5'4'' 129lbs. I use a Fitbit and I am very active (walk 5 miles a day, Pilates & yoga once a week each, personal train twice a week - hiit based and I strength train once a week) I can eat 1800-2000 calories a day for 1/2lb weight loss. So I would say 1200 is way too low. My weight loss has been too fast the past few…
  • We play tig and when my 4 year old catches me he tells me what to do (10 burpees, push-ups, jump over that wall, climb that tree, go say hello to that man!) it can go off track but I still get a good sweat on and we all run around outside. I've also been known to use my children for bench press and leg raises.
  • At 3 weeks I was eating whatever whenever - toast at 3am yum. You can seriously eat so many calories for the first 3-6 months and you will probably naturally lose some weight at the same time. When I started dieting I was eating around 2000 calories a day and still losing (I'm only 5'4'') - this was when my son was about 4…
  • I ate around 1800-1900 calories when breastfeeding and managed to lose without my supply suffering. So my deficit could be anywhere between 350-500, my maintenance is around 1900-2000, depending on how much he fed that day. Also there is quite a big development leap for babies around that age which can really affect their…
  • I'm just about to do 32 days camping in France. With my 2 & 4 yr old. I'm sure we'll make it work. Grilling meat etc plus I think the latest thing is the Mediterranean diet! So you'll be grand X
  • So you eat meat now? I do paleo, my sister is vegan. Whilst we have similar philosophies when it comes to plant based foods we differ quite strongly on meat. I'm not sure I understand a complete change in diet?? Ps I am supportive just interested
  • Eggs aren't dairy x
  • I added mine in snacks. There is a food entry for full breastfeeding 500 cal and then breastfeeding an infant or toddler 300 cal.
  • You can get soya versions of everything including cheese, chocolate , yoghurt, ice cream. If you like coconut flavour there are similar versions. Almond milk is good and oatly or oat cream are the best for cooking. My boy has a dairy allergy. I look at vegan recipes and snacks available on the market. Familiarise yourself…
  • Feel free to add me. I'm prediabetic after two pregnancies with diabetes. I eat healthily 80% of the time. I don't cut out any food groups but I do limit bread, pasta etc my diary is open and I hope it helps x
  • My fitbit charge hr is the same. I've not tried wearing it elsewhere so following.
  • Give yourself a break and don't stress too much. You have loads of time to lose the weight and it will get easier. Soon you'll be out walking everyday or managing to do work out dvds whilst baby sleeps. I know it feels like this is how it will be forever but in a few weeks you'll look back and realise how much you have it…
  • Add me! I have a 3 yr old and an 18 month old boy. It's hard to motivate to work out so good on you going daily! How do you manage that?
