Carbohydrates Simple Questions

Might seem like a stupid set of questions, but:

1) My Aldi Porridge Oats nutritional info tells me to make it up with 180ml of Semi Skimmed Milk. Does this mean the nutritional info on the packet are the values when made up with 180ml of Milk? Or do I need to count the Calories for 180ml of Milk too?

2) When recipes state "200g" of Pasta for 1 person. Is it safe to presume that is COOKED weight and not raw? If that's the case how the heck do you know how much to cook without wasting loads?

Thanks

    1) You need to add the milk. The package will be for the oats only

    2) Should be 200g raw. But that sounds like a fair bit. What type of pasta is it? Might be able to google the package.

The oats should specify as to what the printed information is referring to.

A lot of breakfast cereals and the like here in the UK have a two columb nutritional information label for both 100g of product and for the recommended serving size + milk.

Thank you. It was Tagliatelle, but 200g raw looked like a mountainous portion. Aldi's Tagliatelle.

Thank you, the Oats don't mention Milk in the Nutritional info it's annoying.

I thought the same so scoured the packet and there is no nutritional info mentioning Milk. So might have to find some Oats that mention Milk so I know exactly what to count.

The Aldi porridge oats info is just for the oats.

That sounds like a massive amount of pasta. I have 60g raw weight.

If you like the oatmeal, just add the milk as a separate entry in MFP; it's the same result and probably easier than searching for a brand that includes the milk. There are so many different types of milk available now (with different nutritional info), it's possible you won't find one with milk included.

Aldi harvest morn sachets are around 137 ish without milk. They are in the database here with and without milk options. I just had the blueberry and apple one (137 plus extra for milk)

Pasta is usually calculated dry weight. Here in Italy, 100g dry is a portion. That is a goodsized portion. My sons, in their 20's, will sometimes eat a 150g portion.
