Low Carb!!!!
-
Losing weight and exercise helped when I was first diagnosed. It took low card to get my a1c under 6. I am not strict or keto, although I would like to. That just tough. You can do it!!

My personal favorites are Brooks Ghost. I didn't like the 9 as mush as past models but now I love my ghost 10. Cant get them for 80 though unfortunately.

that is the one I was talking about

Hang in there Judy, it's a marathon not a sprint

What is your a1c? Weight? Family history? I was dx over 2 years ago with an a1c of 7.9. I lost 50 lbs over 2 years and started eating low carb and although my BS isn't where I want it, it is back into a pre level. Last a1c was 5.8. From what I have learned is that the old thinking of 40g of carbs a meal every meal, doesn't…

WTG!! It's going in the right direction

I was in a similar position except I let it get all the way to T2D. Seeing my mom go on dialysis after years of other health issues, it hit me like a hammer. I am not as disciplined as you but I try. Here's to continued good health. Thanks for the post. Doug

I am the exception I am sure. I test every 3 months when I go to the Dr. As long as my a1c is staying down I don't see a need to test all the time. I know what to eat and not eat. If I sneak a piece of bread, my sugar will spike. Don't need a finger pick to tell me. I know people on insulin need to to know what does, so…

Thanks!! I don't pret3nd to be an expert but I try to research as much as I can. I'm with Dr. B. Shooting for normal.
-
You want them a little runny in the middle..........
-
Thanks!!

That's amazing to drop that much in 3 months. Great job. And thanks, 5.8 for a diabetic is pretty good. I want it to be normal again. I am not strict low carb to the point of being in ketosis. I know that would get it down where it really needs to be, I just haven't been willing to make that commitment. I think 6-6.9 is…

I don't track so I never know exactly where I am. I would guess I am in that range. Probably closer to 50-75. I doubt I am keto just based on lack of energy but I have never checked. My blood sugar isn't where I want it, but it is pretty good, a1c of 5.9. I have lost 49 lbs, the first 30 was just diet and exercise, the…

Quest did make some changes a few months ago based on feedback. I love quest bars personally. I havent had stomach issues or cravings. I usually take one to work everyday and eat half for a morning snack and half for an afternoon snack. They are sweet, but thats why I atleast am eating them. I think I probably eat to much…

Not to hijack a thread, but I have read all of these posts and have a question. If you are limiting carbs and protein and your BS drops, what are you supposed to do/eat?
-
Just got back from my 3.1 mile jog/walk. I did feel a little better today and ran a little more. Dont know if it was the extra salt or cooler temps, but I felt good today. I tried coconut oil before running a few weeks ago. On an empty stomach, not pretty. I'll look up the MICKey, thx
-
I appreciate the advice, I will post back here after my run/lift.
-
I haven't but I will try that in the morning. thx
-
Why is because I still enjoy a fry or chip off my wifes plate. I bake but use almond flour. I eat cualiflower instead of potatoes. While I understand ketosis, I haven't embraced the food choices totally. I have recently tried to cut back on my protein a little and use coconut oil in my eggs. I used to start everyday with a…
