  • I was undiagnosed for a few years and it wasn't until I started taking Levothyroxin that I stopped gaining weight. I've been taking it for about a year now and in the past few months I have actually started losing weight with my fitness and nutrition routine. Levothyroxin by itself will probably not help you lose much…
  • I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago. No stones, just inflammation. It was about 8 months from the time I started having pain until I had it removed and those were some of the longest months of my life! Definitely start paying close attention to what causes the attacks (wish I had MFP to help me do that!) but like…
  • I've wondered this myself! Hope someone has an answer.
  • 16 is a great age to start healthy habits! Good luck!

  • 5'4" SW 221 CW 209 GW 175, but when I hit that goal, I think the next will be 145.
  • Here's what I do to help control myself... Those 5 pigs in a blanket = 250 calories = 20 minutes on the elliptical. It could take me 3 minutes to eat them, and 20 minutes to work off. Is that worth it? Nope. How about those 4 mini quiche? 190 calories = 30 minutes on the treadmill. Worth it? Nope. Individually these don't…
  • I'm at 209 right now (already 10 pounds down!) and my goal weight is 145. I felt healthy at 145 and liked how I looked
  • Hi Kyt! I'm also 5'3" but I started at 221, I'm down to 209, and my goals are very similar to yours. I know I will get to 175 and hopefully then to 150... and one of my goals is also to feel confident enough to wear a costume to NYC ComicCon in October
  • Every work day (5 days per week) I walk for 30 minutes on my lunch break. I'm lucky because there is a small gym in my office so I can walk no matter how bad the weather is. When I have the time I do another 30 minutes after work. It's the easiest way to burn calories, in my opinion, and when you break it up into smaller…
  • I joined MFP at the beginning of November when I was at my highest (221) and so far I'm down to 209. Not sure what exactly got me so motivated in November (I'd been hovering around 221 since the beginning of the year) but a switch flipped and suddenly I just knew I could do this and so far it's been easy to stay motivated…
  • I recommend a Jillian Michaels type cardio workout (and definitely find a few you like to rotate through so you don't get bored!) and then, if you can, use your exercise bike while watching TV or reading. I find that works for me so I can maximize my workout time and not feel too bad about watching TV!
