  • Ah yes, age is another culprit. I found I was relatively okay until I hit my early 40s and then my metabolism seemed to grind to a halt, that *kitten*. Plus, as we get older we're more likely to have to take some kind of meds (I'm on Tamoxifen) that can also make it hard to keep weight off. Good luck to you; you're doing…
  • Original starting weight - 130 March starting weight - 125.4 March goal - 118 Ultimate goal - 115 1st - 125.4 8th - 123.4 I have a lot of fluctuation depending on fluids, BM, etc., so this isn't really a 2lb loss. (In fact I'm back up another pound this morning.) But at least it's in the right direction! I'm thankful for…
  • Starting late, but want to join for the accountability. I swear I've been trying to lose the last few pounds for years. I'm just coming off a season of "It'll never happen so I might as well give up" which resulted in gaining back nearly all the weight I had lost. It's definitely harder to stay positive/motivated as you…
  • I'd love to join even though I'm late to the party! Ultimately I'd like to lose around 8-10 pounds from what I'm at now, which is a bit much between now and Easter, so I'd be happy with 5. Weight at start of challenge (2/14): 122.2 2/22: 126.2 3/1: 125.4 Today: 121.8 Easter: 117 I've had a lot of fluctuations, which is…
  • Oct 1- 122.6 Oct 8- 121.8 Oct 15- 124.6 Oct 22 - 124.8 I appear to be going backwards. Not surprising, since I went to a food festival yesterday.... Gotta remind myself that just because it's a "special occasion" or whatever excuse I want to use, doesn't mean I have to shove food into my pie hole like the Apocalypse is…

  • Hugs to you. It sucks that what is keeping us healthy is also messing with our health :( Looking back at my weight over the past couple of years, I definitely noticed an uptick within a few months of starting the meds. I guess the good thing is that we won't have to be on it forever, right?

  • Just out of curiosity, what med are you on? I'm on Tamoxifen and I've wondered if it's messing with my weight...

  • Yeah, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed :D I tried it with a whole tray of ice and it did fluff up more than the last trial, but it still wasn't as fluffy as expected. Looks like maybe I didn't crush the ice enough? It was pretty snowy but maybe I need to give it a bit more time. At least I'm on the right track... it…
  • Just saw this. I wonder if the amount of ice makes a big difference? I'm probably only using about half of what the video showed.
  • I tried a pea protein one that didn't work either. I'll have to try a different brand, maybe... back to the drawing board ;) Thanks for everyone's input. It will hopefully help me narrow down the issue soon.

  • Thanks! I use the measurements mentioned in one of the above posts, but maybe I need to play around with those as well. Thanks for the input!
  • Hmmm.... okay, so I tried a different milk and a different protein powder, but I still got the same drippy, (almost gummy?) results. The picture shows what I used (plus ice), and it never grew in volume past what you see in the processor, which is pretty much what it looked like at the beginning. I even tried different…
  • Good idea, thanks!
  • Good to know, thanks! It seems like people have a lot of success with cashew milk, maybe I'll try that next.
  • I used plant-based PP, and while I didn't add any peanut butter, the PP is chocolate peanut butter flavored. I'll have to check the ingredients. The almond milk has 2.5g of fat. Don't know if that would make a difference.
  • A food processor, looks really similar to the one in the pics that has the fluff blowing the top off with its crazy volume.
  • I definitely struggle with this, too, especially at this time of year. I like the suggestions listed, but sometimes even having plenty of my own food doesn't stop my brain from telling me that I HAVE to have that brownie/Christmas cookie, etc. A big part of the issue is mental for me, especially if I'm stressed or bored,…

  • Good to know, thanks! Mine never got very fluffy, even after just a few minutes, but maybe it's just a trial and error process that I have to play around with.
  • Okay, I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. I used these exact same ingredients/measurements (except with almond rather than cashew milk), and mine just ended up kind of soupy. I used a food processor, blended the ice til it was shaved ice consistency, and added the other ingredients. The volume never increased that much,…
  • Oct 1- 122.6 Oct 8- 121.8 Oct 15- 124.6 Oct 22 - 124.8 Oct 29 - 120.4 I am not under any delusions that I've actually lost 4 lbs in a week. The previous number was an early-morning weigh-in after an evening of, if not exactly gluttony, certainly eating with abandon. My weight tends to fluctuate a lot, (in fact I'm up a…
  • That's good to know! What ratios/ingredients do you use?
  • Thanks for the instructions! I can't wait to try it now!
  • Has anyone tried making protein fluff with plant-based protein powders? Does it work?
