  • I'm in "the Old Pueblo" or Tucson, Arizona!
  • Incredible! So proud of you!! You give hope to all of us that it can be done! I'm so glad I read this today as I've been struggling a lot lately, but your post gives me renewed hope! "Quick fixes" don't work - lifestyle changes do! Thank you for sharing your story and again congrats to you!! Be proud of all you have…
  • Congrats to you! I seriously cannot wait 'til the day I can say the exact same thing!! Though I do buy body sprays/perfumes from Victoria's Secret, I long for the day I can buy cute things (underwear, bras, etc.). However, I've lost close to 45 pounds and I have barely gone down in my bra size - egads! Lane Bryant does…
  • Hey Brandon! Just wanted to say that you are inspiring! You most definitely did NOT take the "easy way out." Surgery is just a tool and YOU have to do the work, which you have done and which you deserve nothing but the utmost praise for! Losing weight is not easy - we have good days and we have bad days, but usually the…
  • Oh yes, Cyndi Lauper! I love "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" as well! Also like Lita Ford - Kiss Me Deadly. Can't think of other songs by her except for that slow one Close My Eyes Forever... Joan Jet - I Love Rock 'n Roll. Good stuff! Brings back LOTS of memories!!
  • I just (this very minute) heard this song on Pandora. Great song to work out to!! I had forgotten all about this one.
  • This is a great thread!! I'm seeing lots of "new" ones to add to my playlist! Love it!
  • Here's just a bit of my playlist: AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long, Highway to Hell Quiet Riot - Cum on Feel the Noize, Bang Your Head Whitesnake - Here I Go Again, Still of the Night Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart, SOS Poison - Talk Dirty to Me , Nothin' But a Good Time Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar on Me, Animal,…
  • I just turned 40 in January. I check in every day, have an open diary and am down 35 pounds since November, though I still have quite a ways to go. I don't believe in giving up anything - moderation is key for me (along with portion control)! I also am viewing this as a lifelong commitment. I'm in no rush to get to my goal…
  • Born and raised in a teeny tiny town in Minnesota (population 240)... Now living in Tucson, Arizona!
  • I'm currently reading "American Sniper" (autobiography of Chris Kyle) - very difficult to put down!
  • Love your post!! Still smiling thinking about it!! I just turned 40 almost two weeks ago and honestly... not bad at all! The days leading up to the "big day" kind of freaked me out, but now? I'm doing pretty good, down 30 pounds and feeling like this time is it - that I WILL make it to goal (and beyond). Though obviously I…
  • Hope this link helps - it links to the MFP "help desk." One of my friends said it worked for her when she wanted to change her starting weight. Good luck! myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/10592-how-do-i-change-my-starting-weight-or-edit-incorrect-weight-entries-
  • Hello! I just turned 40 last week actually... I've been a yo-yo dieter all my life, lose it, gain back even more, lose again, gain back even more, etc., etc. Frustrating cycle! Anyway, I feel like THIS time I finally have a handle on it (I sure hope so anyway)! Please feel free to add me!
  • Ha! You are definitely not alone. Exercise is not easy for those of us who are "voluptuous"!! I stick to mainly fast walking/walking as running is just comical and downright hurts! I'm down 30 pounds and the only thing different in my bra size (42DDD) is I have gone down a few clasps on the fastener in the back. So…
  • Hello! I just recently turned 40 (one week ago actually), and although I don't have any kiddos I do understand wanting and needing support. I have a very sedentary job which doesn't help and the weight has gradually been coming on for the last 10 years, and I kept ignoring it and ignoring it 'til I just couldn't ignore it…
  • Congrats!! That's quite an accomplishment and definitely something to be proud of!!
  • Just turned the big 4-0 (today actually), not married, no kids, currently single. I've never felt pressured to have kids and honestly I think my biological clock must be broken because I've never had a desire to have kids. The last long-term relationship I was in was great - neither of us wanted kids and we just had lots…
  • Yes, I do believe in the paranormal. I have personally witnessed too many things to not believe ever since I was a kid. I have tried many times to tell myself it was all in my head, but as I've become older I've just "let go," accepted it and it no longer bothers me. Honestly, though, they're not happening as often the…
  • I live by the motto "one day at a time." You didn't gain the weight overnight, you aren't going to lose it overnight! I'm down about 27 pounds now, but I have a lot to lose (100 pounds give or take a pound or two). I take it in five-pound increments. Every ten pounds I do something nice for myself, pedicure, new book, etc.…
  • It's a great app!! Best of luck to you!
  • Hi Tess, if you just click on a profile picture it should bring you to the member's profile page. There should then be a green button that says "send a message" and another green button that says "add as friend." Just click the "add as friend" and you should be good to go.
  • Since starting the third week of November 2014, I'm down 22 pounds. Great app!!
  • This app is definitely a great way to get a handle on your eating. Thinking back to what I used to eat in a day boggles my mind and I can't believe I wasn't heavier than I was!! Best of luck to you (all of you)! Feel free to add me as well! After all, the more friends the better!!
  • Hello all! I will be turning 40 on Sunday. Where did the years go?!? Heck, I remember when I thought 30 was old!! I started MFP back in November and am down a little over 20 pounds though I have a lot more to lose. Anyone feel free to add me! I log every day, keep an open diary and enjoy meeting new friends!
  • I live in Tucson as well! I work out at Anytime Fitness (on the East side) and also walk around Randolph park/golf course a few times a week. So nice to be able to go for walks outside in January (I was born and raised in Minnesota).
  • I'm enjoying the Skinny Cow divine-filled chocolates (caramel) as we speak. Heavenly!! I do love the cheese and pretty much everything else Skinny Cow makes!
  • I have a lot to lose (80 pounds give or take a pound or two) and I'm turning the big 4-0 this coming Sunday!! Eek!! Friend request sent! Anyone else please feel free to add me!!
  • I'm turning 40 in just under two weeks (eek!) and have decided that this has got to be it. After all, no matter what we do that clock doesn't stop for anyone and it's what we do with that time that matters. I told myself when I turned 30 that I was not going to spend my 30s overweight and missing out on life. Well, guess…
