So, I was on my long run today (it's 10K and don't laugh - that's long for me) when I hit the wall around the 5 mile mark. I could feel my pace slowing and I was starting to struggle. I was suddenly aware of a twinge in my knee that, when I thought about it, had been there for the last mile or so and it's really not great to try to push through an injury so may I should just stop because 5 miles is still a pretty good distance and - SUDDENLY, musical inspiration!
I *kitten* you not, MFPers. Just as I was about to give up, Eye of the MotherTrucking Tiger comes up on my play all shuffle. Well, when the universe aligns the bytes of data on your smartphone to deliver you the greatest training montage song of all time, you push right the *kitten* through and finish that *kitten*! Well, finish it I did and I smashed my PR at the same time.
It dawned on me, as I recovered in a quivering heap of sweat and pain, that I desperately need an all 80's motivational song playlist for my runs. So, let's have it people. What songs are you putting on my playlist for next week.
TL;DR - Give me classic 80's montage songs.

These are great suggestions! I have a lot of them in my rotation, but clearly I need to download legally purchase a lot of songs to make my ultimate montage playlist.0

Guns N Roses is an overlooked source of workout music, in my opinion.0 -
Ut kind of depends as well whats happening in the workout. Lifting I use different music than rowing or cardio or running. Rythm etc is important.0
-
A lot of mine have been mentioned already (ACDC, GNR)! This is an awesome thread.
Kenny Loggins, Playing with the Boys (yes, That Volleyball Sequence)
on a technicality, the Beatles, "Twist and Shout" cover
Pat Benetar, "Heartbreaker"
Bruce Springsteen, "Murder Incorporated"
Bon Jovi, "You Give Love a Bad Name"
Foreigner, "Jukebox Hero"
Robert Palmer, "Simply Irresistible"
B-52s, "Love Shack"0 -

-
Hearts on Fire. Jon Cafferty
This Is the son from the montage following Apollo's death.

LOVING this thread!!! A great playlist can make or break my run. My favorite is pour some sugar on me and living on a prayer. I have those 2X in my play list so they come on twice during a long run.0
-
Journey - Seperate Ways0

Footloose and Walking on Sunshine always put me in an upbeat, I can do anything mood.0
-
I can't wait until tomorrow and I can add some of these songs!! Great suggestions! I can't wait
