I lift 6 days a week focusing on a different muscle group each day Monday I do back, Tuesday chest & triceps, Wednesday legs focusing on glutes & quads, Thursday shoulders & biceps, Friday abs, Saturday legs again focusing on hamstrings. I do 20 mins on the elliptical to warm up & then after my workout I either do sprints…

I'll check my body fat again. But a couple months ago it was at 19%. I'm starting to do more HIIT in my routine & I know that can help with body fat.
-
This is along the lines of what I was thinking. Because I do love to lift & I would hate to give it up all together. I just need to lighten up on the weight & add more reps perhaps.
-
Well I have been as low as 16% body fat & was all muscle & that was fine for a show. But not how I want to look on a regular basis.
-
I almost am thinking to just stop training up body period for a while & see what happens.
-
Thanks everyone for all the input. I was only a few weeks out from competing. When the things happened with my family I just stopped everything. Now I am just trying to get down to a smaller look. My body fat is only at 19% as it is right now. So I think it's going to be tricky to get the look I want.

I don't mind having booty & shapely legs. But above the waist I want a more slender look. I pick up a freaking coffee cup & people are like "Whoa look at those biceps!"
-
See my arms, I don't want that.
-
I'm not trying to start a debate. Just looking for advice.

Thanks so much. Should I just do half the weight I was doing before? Like instead of using 20 pound dumbells for the shoulder press do 10 pounds?
-
Thank you :-)

Thanks so much ladies!

Thanks!

Gotcha! I can honestly eat at any time & not have any issues with it bothering me during my workout. The only reason I thought I should workout in a fasted state is because I had heard things about it making you burn fat faster.
-
Thanks again! I think I would prefer to eat breakfast first. The only reason I wasn't doing so is because I was afraid that it would slow down my weight loss.
-
Oh I didn't mention that I always work out first thing in the morning, 7am. Not sure if that makes any difference. Once again thank you for the replies!

Thank you for all the replies!

Thank you. It just gets confusing because I follow a lot of fitness competitors on IG & so many swear by fasted cardio & they look so amazing so I thought that was best lol! Oh & I love your name!

Thanks so much everyone for all the guidance, I truly appreciate it!

I have been doing measurements which is why I saw today that I have made 0 progress. I just started using MFP so I will be logging everything. The only thing I drink other than water is coffee & I only put Stevia in it. I don't own a HRM, I want to get one but the good ones are so freaking expensive. No I need to worked…

Like I said I just joined this site so I can more easily track my calories. Before now I just had a hand written diary & I logged an average day into my MFP diary just now.
-
I'm 5'4 & my calories are around 1200-13000 a day. I just logged an average day into my diary. I used to have my body fat around 16% & it was too low, when it got up to around 18-19 range I was very happy with how I looked. But, I just fell off with my eating & gained weight that I'm not happy with.
