  • Interesting guys! I was normal low in the morning, but then when I got home from work yesterday, I was up about 2 lbs heavier than usual afternoon weight, and then he showed up last night. Mine really seems to come right around the time of TOM.
  • These popsicles are a staple in our house now... http://www.ruled.me/raspberry-lemon-popsicles
  • It's weird, it's only my left ear, and it definitely comes and goes. I think it stopped yesterday around 2pm (or at least I don't remember it after that), and I haven't experienced it yet. Something obviously triggers it, but I'm not sure what it is. I did go for a walk right before I noticed it, so maybe it can be induced…
  • You should never weigh yourself after dinner! Just think, the weight of all the food you just ate and liquids you just drank are inside your body, in addition to the added weight of all the bodily digestive secretions and enzymes (saliva, stomach acid, bile, etc etc) your body created out of thin air to digest your meal! I…
  • Perhaps I'm wrong in assuming that because you have not considered the information I'm sharing (which is clearly against the current mainstream belief and recommendations), you don't agree with it and therefore believe in and subscribe to the misguided recommendations currently accepted... which there's a good chance will…
  • I was responding to her snarky and sarcastic response with the same. Anyhow, the information is out there, it's everywhere, from many reliable sources. It's not considered mainstream yet, and if you're not open-minded about it fine...but we're in the midst of a paradigm shift and in the next ?? years we will all be looking…
  • Even though they aren't quite there yet, even the American Heart Association is coming around to it... http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/Conditions/Inflammation-and-Heart-Disease_UCM_432150_Article.jsp
  • Yes it is. Just watch, in 10-20 years, carbs and processed foods will be completely vilified. http://www.sott.net/article/242516-Heart-surgeon-speaks-out-on-what-really-causes-heart-disease
  • You can add me, I'm low carb and super low sugar, and I log food and exercise daily...
  • Dietary cholesterol has zero effect on blood cholesterol. You can eat as much cholesterol as you want, and your cholesterol levels won't be affected. They are taking it off the Nutrition Label. http://www.webmd.com/diet/20150226/food-guidelines-surprises Also, heart disease and diabetes are not caused by cholesterol or…
  • I have it also and love it. I've been a fitbitter for 3 years, I bought the Charge HR the day it came out. I have no problems with syncing to MFP, but on a sidenote, I do find that the calorie estimate for food intake based on goals is more accurate on fitbit. So I eat based off that.
  • Pretty sure if you're experiencing withdrawals from something, it's because you're addicted to it - whether psychologically or physiologically, you're still addicted to it. Withdrawal is a side effect of the absence of something you're addicted to, and if you weren't addicted to it, you certainly wouldn't be having…
  • @Dragonwolf It's a huge relief to hear that this is your experience! I just started Week 7 and down about 12 lbs overall, but stalled for the past 3 weeks..., and seems like this happened to me in the last 4 week cycle. I hope to god my weight drops this week too!
  • I'm 5'3" and currently 155, looking to get down to 125. Feel free to add me, I log EVERYTHING. :)
  • I think the key is to pick a scale, and stick to it. The starting and ending points don't matter so much, it's more the difference between the two that you really need to know. I'd guess that most scales, while they may be calibrated differently from each other, they will still weigh you with accuracy from that point on…
  • It's not that hard...eating at a deficit of 500 cal daily, and doing 500 cal worth of exercise gets it done. Or burning more through exercise, and eating a lower deficit. I'm 5'3", 155, wear a HR Monitor, and go on a 75 min hike and burn 900 calories. Maybe my heart sucks and hers doesn't...but point is, a 1000 cal deficit…
  • Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm going to relax a little and have my cheat every two weeks or so. I guess the overall key is that my total calorie deficit for the week will reflect and account for this...and I will just not weigh myself for 3 days after the carb day for fear of making myself insane. Pretty sure my past…
  • Starvation mode is a myth. Read this. http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/another-look-at-metabolic-damage.html
  • I feel for you. Your loss in muscle could have exacerbated your situation. I'm not sure what else I can say to help, other than to share my stats with you for comparison, as I too wear my Fitbit Charge HR daily. I'm 34, female, and weigh 155, bf about 29%. On a day when I was almost completely sedentary, meaning I…
  • It's not healthy. http://healthimpactnews.com/2013/agave-is-far-worse-than-high-fructose-corn-syrup/
  • I use and EC stack called Black Widow by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals. I use it for 2 1/2 months and then cycle off for at least a month. I like it, it is a thermogenic which has the bonus of suppressing appetite. I haven't found anything that works quite as well and I always end up going back to it.
  • That starvation mode thing is a myth. I'm too lazy to link it, but there are plenty of posts here you can search for the science that disproves it.
  • Oy! I told him to stop making statements about that which he doesn't understand.
  • If you have or would consider getting an Xbox360 with Kinect, you can do dancing games at home (Dance Central series, Just Dance series) that burn a ton of calories and are great for HIIT training. You can put what ever effort or intensity you want into it. It's fun and doesn't feel like exercise, and the time passes…
  • What you're experiencing is called "PISS" - Post-Induction Stall Syndrome. Everyone who does keto for more than 2 weeks or so experiences it, you stall for several weeks or sometimes even gain a little while your body tries to find a new balance for glycogen and water. Look it up, it will explain everything you're…
  • I have the same one as Velveteen7845... it's inexpensive! Used it for about a year and had no problems, although I have had to change the batteries at least 4 times. But we use it for every meal. It's great.…
  • No honestly it really is the worst haha. I had to respond to this one myself: "In fact, quite apart from its unpleasant side-effects, ketosis is by definition unsustainable, because eventually your body would run out of fat. You needed 2 diets, one to lose weight, then another to keep it off (because the first diet would…
  • @rightoncommander Wrong. Wanted to correct this inaccurate statement, because ketosis is NOT unsustainable. Ketones aren't only created from body fat, they are also created from dietary fat as well. One could (and many do) very easily continue eating on a ketogenic diet (very high fat and very low carb) but at a…
  • Awesome! Thank you for sharing! I'm anticipating I will discover something similar, I'm pretty sure my metabolism is a tad on the slower side unfortunately...
  • Yes! BodySpec! I guess there is also BodPod here too, but the reviews on BodySpec are better. It's comforting for me to know that you liked the tests from BodySpec and that they helped you! The DEXA I will definitely retest, and actually I'm thinking I may retest the RMR also once I hit my goal just so I know what is right…
