What is this "wet" you talk of? Haven't seen above freezing since before Christmas :( Minus twentysomething again today.... C'mon spring!

15k for me today in some pretty sloppy conditions - big snowfall yesterday. It was easier running on the frozen canal (giant skating rink) than the sidewalks because of the slush. Picked the wrong gloves and hands were completely numb by the end. Also had a rental treadmill delivered yesterday for 3 months, but still…

Running is awesome, and burns a lot of calories, but as they say, you can't out-run your fork.

I have a TomTom Runner Cardio with built in optical HRM Performs really well, and uploads directly to Strava and Runkeeper (and then to MFP)

I've got a race on Sunday, and the current forecast is -20C with another 10 degrees of wind-chill. I did a race a couple of weeks ago in similar conditions, and the big lesson was that I need to wear wind blocking shorts over my running tights! I was seriously considering removing my mitts and using them elsewhere in that…

Hi All, First post for me, and first race of the year this morning. Nearly bailed on it since it was -30C outside and I only got in from a business trip late last night. Glad I didn't though, as usual, once you're out there it's awesome. The course was around a horse racing track, and then out onto some ploughed roads…

I've got a TomTom Runner Cardio which I found on Amazon for $249 including shipping and taxes. HR is accurate but you need to wear it tighter than a regular watch. GPS has been very impressive, it acquires in seconds. So far, very happy with it.

I could use some running friends for motivation. Registered for 4 10k's, a 15k and 2 halfs this year in the hope I can make running stick for good this time. First 10k of the year is Jan 31st (did one on New Years Eve as well), but the halfs don't start until the fall. Running almost exclusively outside, which is chilly in…
