[q8uote="mysmileighs;32113009"]I used to get them all the time, usually on the placebo days of my bc pills. Now that I have an IUD, I'm told they will go away completely. There was no eating or exercise with mine. Dark, silent room. And lots of Excedrin. I hope you find something that works because they are the…

2 things. 1. A "naturopathic doctor" is jargon for quack. 2. Depending on where you live, a nutritionist could be anything from someone who just wishes to call themselves that to someone who actually has a degree and is licensed. A better choice for advice would be a registered dietitian.

Here's the abstract: http://world-food.net/isolation-of-dna-from-olive-oil-and-oil-sediments-application-in-oil-fingerprinting/ If you do a Google search for the title, you can directly download the PDF.

No and sometimes. Sugar is a crystalline simple carbohydrate. On the other hand, olive oil may contains traces of DNA from the olives that are use in production. I actually just read a paper about DNA extraction from olive oil in order to determine purity.

Congrats to your parents... and everything that has ever lived has DNA.

I don't need/want/use a plan like this. I was simply stating that the meal plan that was linked to was very low volume. I need a lot more than 1200 calories anyway as someone who is very physically active. My post was kind of meant to point out the hunger issues that someone who may follow this plan would likely encounter.

Or conversely, you could just log the whole recipe as 875 servings and then log it as 73 servings in your diary.

While MFP doesn't have this feature, you could possibly ask your doctor how much weight she/he advises you gain per month and adjust your goal to that amount. It would likely change by month or the very least by trimester which is why I'm guessing MFP doesn't have the feature.

Overnight oats are easy and portable if you make them in small mason jars. There's a basic recipe and a lot of ideas for different options here: http://www.katheats.com/favorite-foods/overnightoats I also find that making breakfast "muffins" are great. I simply whip some eggs and cheese together and fill muffin pans with…

What does your fiber intake look like? If you've dramatically increased it when you changed your diet, that could be your problem. In order to solve this problem, drink more water and cut your fiber back, then increase your intake gradually instead of all at once. If you're not currently getting enough fiber (at least the…

1200 calories of low volume/high fat food? I would feel like I'm starving all day.

While I adore eggs, if I'm not feeling like having them for breakfast, I like oatmeal with honey, cinnamon, a little butter and blueberries with Greek yogurt on the side. Another great option that I love is an everything bagel thin with veggie cream cheese, smoked salmon and loaded with vegetables such as spinach,…

Grams are smaller units of measurement than ounces so weighing in grams is always more accurate.

By "this case" I was referring to the poster who said they get headaches when they cut out caffeine and "processed sugars." All sugars are processed in some way unless you're getting them straight from the fruit or chewing sugar cane and sugar has not been proven to be physically addictive in the way that caffeine is.
-
In this case, it's the caffeine that's doing it. Caffeine is addictive and when you cut it out cold turkey, it often leads to headaches.
-
I could be wrong, but I don't believe that's an option at the moment. If you don't eat it though, it will eventually be replaced by the foods that you do eat.
-
This may seem like a silly question but how much oatmeal are you having when you're eating it? If you're only eating 1 packet of oatmeal (approximately 160 calories), it's perfectly reasonable to be hungry a few hours later. If I'm eating oatmeal, I add a bit of butter to it and have it with fruit and Greek yogurt on the…

It's just a way for the creator to make money, like most fad diets. If you want to lose weight and stay healthy, eat a diet containing mostly whole foods, plenty of protein, and moderate amounts of fats (20-35% of your total calories) and stay away from fad diets like this. Oh and of course, consume fewer calories than you…

These are baked but not hot. I really like these. http://runeatrepeat.com/2013/04/09/peanut-protein-cookies-recipe/

I think bodybuilders do it because of Broscience... well that and the supplements they take can often require increased water intake. Most pre-workout supplements do, as a matter of fact.
-
It most likely is and blood in your urine is a good reason to see your doctor. OP, I forgot to let you know that some supplements can change the color of your urine. I sometimes drink energy drinks and the excess B vitamins in them can make my urine neon for a few hours while I'm excreting them.
-
I don't think you need to eat 1 gram per pound of actual body weight, instead the guideline is 1 gram per pound of lean mass or 1 gram per kilogram (2.2 lbs) of body weight. Do you know how much lean mass you have?

Here is a handy chart!

How much water you should drink varies widely with each individual. It's possible that you're getting enough, especially if you eat a lot of foods that contain high amounts of water such as raw spinach, melon, celery, etc. The best way to tell if you're drinking enough water is by the concentration of your urine. If it is…

I've just finished taking a college nutrition course last semester that I passed with flying colors. One of the main takeaways from that class was that supplements are not good for you. Mega-doses for many things can cause health issues and the only time that supplements are helpful are when you are deficient in the…

Yes, I understand this. Please do not treat me like a simpleton. However, these additional readings are more effective at giving accurate calorie burn estimates than other trackers that are only based on height/weight/activity. I have been using a BodyMedia Link for a couple of years now and would continue to use it if it…

I won't be using the Apple Watch as I don't have an iPhone and don't plan on ever having one, especially not in the next 2 years as I just got a LG G3.
-
I'm not as interested in the HR monitor as the general calorie tracking. Having sensors that accurately track calories burned is very important to me. Both the Up3 and the Basis Peak both do that via bioimpedence. I'm just not sure I can actually wait the 8-9 weeks for the Up3.
-
Honestly, I don't like the design and it lacks sensors that sit on your skin.
