Sounds crazy if more than a couple days.

But you succeeded for 3.5 days!! Be proud of that!

There are a lot of very knowledgeable people in the group below. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

I have read about cancer and keto as well. I told my mother in law about it since she has lung cancer. I know that cancer burns a ton of calories (and leaves the host starving), and sugar is the main source of food for those out of control cells. I hope you have a doctor that is open to your ketogenic plan. It makes sense.…

How do you find the bone?. Do you ask the typical section in the grocery store, or have to go to a butcher ?
-
Google Fage. It has a full fat no sugar added yogurt. Try the "store finder". I found it that way
-
Thanks for all the suggestions. You all are awesome!

We have Wegmans, Rochester NY . I get my bullion there in the 'funky food section"- that is what I call it , lol. How do you make the bone broth, and are the bones safe for dogs once cooked?
-
Crock pot, great idea! !! I Should have thought of that. Do you have a link or recipe on to how to do it?
-
Thanks Sunny_Bunny. I was leery of the K+, Good to know I don't really need to supplement it.

:) . The support is awesome here.

And potassium? I bought the Himalayan sea salt. A pill for sodium seems much easier, then I can salt my food with the sea salt to get the other stuff. Thanks. :-)

Yay! I have encountered many awesome people in this group. Congrats!

I get the "your brain needs carbs" line. I tell them to look up ketone and brain, it is not true. I also heard that the heart prefers ketones.

Going to find Dr. Fung on yt. Sounds like several of you have done so. Thank you for all of the advice. -Dawl

Kit, I started BPC for breakfast, then do not eat anything until dinnertime. It has sparked new weight loss. The way you do it is actually not difficult (really not hungry), so I am a fan of your way. Not sure I can do 48-72 hr fast though.

Vika, I am now reading his book. Thank-you so much. I am reading voraciously. I like that he is up on the IF, low carb, and exercising, because I want fat loss and to get fit with toned muscles.
-
Good job! I am doing a 24 hr fast to see if it revs up my fat burner. BPC this morning, no food til tomorrow morning. I was stalling last two weeks and hope this works. If you haven't tried it already , try intermittent fasting. I am trying it after reading and help from great folks in this group.

You guys are awesome! It is great to be back at it, however carefully this year. 13 lb to go. Exercise started Saturday. I feel so good after, yet I avoid it.
-
That sounds so good!

Thanks all!

I have been watching that. I wonder why they won't call it what it is.

Please let me know what your friend says.

I am doing this diet right now myself. There are forums for this stuff on MFP. Search for "keto", or LCHF. If you cant get anywhere with that, message me.

Have you tried kicking the sugar and simple carb habit? I find I can stay on my diet by getting off the sugar roller coaster. I also eat healthy fats. Sugar fueled energy boosts have an equal and opposite reaction by creating sugar lows shortly afterward. These lows make you feel crappy and very hungry . Get rid of the "low…

Macchiatto, I have similar concerns and hopes. MCT oil is supposed to be beneficial. I would find a open minded doctor (like your neuro- ask him her about the ketogenic diet, for benefits other than seizures) that you can discuss this with. I know that myelin consist of cholesterol- which we really need, to repair myelin.…

I am with you on the mental health effects. I got insomnia and got really cranky. It took about two months on keto to start these symptoms. I quit the keto WOE for almost 5 months. This time around I am going low carb but not so crazy low carb. Hope this works.
