Cuz there are no overweight vegans?

I did all the dry fry, rinse etc etc. They are great if you like chewing rubber bands. :) Wanted to like them but just couldn't.

I would guess that sometimes they meet them online either dating sites or other forums. Just like many other people.

I know someone who's naturopath diagnosed her allergic to sugar, even fruit. I wanted to tell her her blood always has sugar in it; and if it didn't she would be dead.

Hmmm, I don't think your intent was to fat shame, but when you question how can an obese person "pull" a spouse/SO that goes beyond personal preference and it implies that these people are not worthy or shouldn't expect to have a romantic relationship b/c they are obese.

So why do people who don't IF and do consume regular carb intake lose fat/weight while in calorie deficit ?

I've tried several types of GF pasta. The brand I find closest to "real pasta" is the Catelli line which makes it with brown and white rice, quinoa, and corn. Relatively cheap and easy to find.

You call it pizza, I call it a vegetable casserole . But if you like it, enjoy! :)

Several posters have mentioned the need to take in additional sodium and potassium to avoid the "carb flu". The kidneys are very good (in the absence of disease or trauma) at maintaining potassium and sodium levels as these are critical electrolytes (as low/high levels can cause coma and/or cardiac arrest). With most…

I must confess, I judge people who use the word "literally" when they mean "figuratively". But I do realize that it's wrong of me to do so.

I find it fascinating how quick some people are to dismiss the peer review process yet rely on anecdotal stories and bloggers for medical advice.

@shell1005, I'm wondering what your take is on this article? (Thinking this response to your post got missed?)

That nutritional data is based on a cup of mashed bananas. A average banana has about 30 gm of carb.

Because I find it boring.

Our kidneys and lungs do a fine job of keeping our bodies at the right pH level. No ACV needed or we'd be dead a long time ago!

Don't you walk 10 km per day? At that pace it would take you 3 1/2 hours! My bet is the tracker is off.

6 km /hour (3.72 miles/hr) outside even terrain. I'm 5'6"

The writing was on the wall once MFP started putting up "nutrition" blogs (e.g. health benefits of clean eating and vegetarianism) without any solid cited science behind the claims in the blogs and basically disallowed any meaningful feedback.

Great posts!

I would think that possibly the increased cost may not be due to the cost of the ingredients but in the process of preparing meals. For the most part, hospital meals are produced in an assembly line manner which keeps labour costs down. If you need to prepare 100 regular" meals and 1 vegan, the labour cost for that vegan…

It's a decision made on a specific belief (i.e. it's wrong to exploit animals). But then, do we not need to respect other beliefs without getting into a debating whether or not the belief is true? Are hospitals and other institutions obligated to provide Kosher or Halal food to those who hold a different set of beliefs…

Welcome to MFP! I can tell you will really like it here

In Canada, cows used for dairy are antibiotic and hormone free.

Soy milk has decent protein but little calcium. Almond milk has decent calcium but little protein. Dairy milk is a good source of both. Commercial milk also has Vit A and D added. As well, dairy is usually cheaper. Of course, you can always get almond and soy milk fortified but I would guess that adds to the cost. So,…

You can have anemia for a number of reasons ;e.g. you're bleeding, your body is either destroying red cells, or just not making enough. And those reasons can have different causes. You need to go back to your doctor to find out the best treatment for you.

Good read on white rice inclusion into the Paleo diet. I find it interesting though that it states white rice has no nutritional value outside of carbs. Most sources say that one cup of cooked white rice has 4 gm of protein and about 10% of RDA iron. Not high amounts, but not nothing.
-
From what I've read "classic" paleo also eliminates dairy and legumes which might make it more restrictive especially for someone who doesn't like to/doesn't have time to cook. Primal would include dairy.

I have zero fear of getting bulky and admire women who do lift and was quite inspired by many of the women here on MFP; wanted to love it but find it quite boring. Have tried at home , group class, individual trainer but just didn't like it.

As CyberTone above has stated, a TBS is 15 mL not 15gms;it is a unit of volume not weight.
